I was just offered a bot. user and message below.

    username : lausvendsen

hey man... I know poker sites arent rigged. I know though that you are'nt always playing against who you think!
Thats right talking about poker bots. i know this because i have constructed one myself with 1 other poker player and 3 students from "The Danish Technical University".
PM me if you want the bot as well. The online poker sites need to realize this is an issue and the only way to do this for me, is to bombard them with pokerbots.

Peace ( The website is xxxxxxx )

    Hello.

Stefano here from www.betxpoker.com. You don't know me yet, but I'm writing to you about a new poker network that supports players worldwide. It's not a very famous poker client, it's a part of the Italian Enet network. This network is currently TOP for grinders. You will find fish all the way up to nl400. Vpip for nl100 6max tables is around 40-50%. If you don't believe me, check it out yourself, download the client and look it up. Most of the players are Italian and their game just sucks. But wait, here comes the real bonus. I can also offer you rakeback, that you won't find anywhere else ! If you are interested, please respond to me, and we can make a rakeback deal for you.

    Best Regards, Stefano

What REAL money did you think you're gonna get for posting comments in a forum?
There are plenty other trolls who will take the $500/year and say thanks.

And if a bomb will kill all trolls, then I can still hire a Filipino to do this for $0.05 per comment.

I wasn't spamming you or offering something which isn't legit. Never asked you to brag about my service (which aint no casino crap, just one hard-working man show, btw).

If the admins here will decide to ban me for offering this, then all I have left to say is .

    Best wishes.
  27. #102
i think you owe boog $0.15 since his link is still active in his quote.
Oh .....and sig urls are spam so you wanted him to spam the forum.
  28. #103
I'm really sorry, but sig links are definitely NOT spam.
You'll be surprised to see how many people will check the sig URL of a person that gave them a profound answer. If they check the link, and see something they like in my shop - that is something called great marketing.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that. And if there was, FTR would have canceled sig links a long time ago.

Note that I own the site, and I contacted this person myself (picked him from many other forum members). Unfortunately I bumped into the wrong guy, but it doesn't change the fact that it's still a win-win situation.

And yes, maybe sending private messages isn't the best way to reach forum members, but I don't know of any other tactics.

I never replied to it because I think that spammers should rot in the lowest depths of the oldest sewage pit for, oh about 1000 years or so, but since I saw this recent discussion, I thought I'd add my $0.02.

If an admin needs me to forward this pm to them then I will.

I think he owes you $.15 as well now shotglass....maybe he'll pay on UB.

As for Sig links not being spam...from the wiki
Forum spam - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Most forum spam consists of links to external sites, with the dual goals of increasing search engine visibility in highly competitive areas such as weight loss, pharmaceuticals, gambling, pornography, real estate or loans, and generating more traffic for these commercial websites. Some of these links contain code to track the spambot's identity if a sale goes through, when the spammer behind the spambot works on commission.
Spam posts may contain anything from a single link, to dozens of links. Text content is minimal, usually innocuous and unrelated to the forum's topic, or in a very old thread that is revived by the spammer solely for the purpose of spamming links. Some text is included to prevent the post being caught by automated spam filters that prevent posts which consist solely of external links from being submitted. Full banner advertisements have also been reported.[by whom?]
Alternately, the spam links are posted in the user's signature, in which case the spambot will never post. The link sits quietly in the signature field, where it is more likely to be harvested by search engine spiders than discovered by forum administrators and moderators

Nope, Guess you're not the only snitch around here.

Now let's summarize the wiki together:
*Spam is when - content is minimal / unrelated to the topic / commenting on old threads.

The last thing sig links are good for is a search engine. It's a nofollow link of the lowest possible quality. However, attracting highly targeted traffic by answering beginners' questions can be quite useful.

Who am I kidding... All you guys know is how to waist entire lives behind anonymous forum nicknames while posting sarcastic/cynical comments.

Instead of hiring someone who doesn't have a clue about poker, I wanted to give one of you guys an opportunity to make some easy cash. But well...

I guess both you and I will continue living without this SPAMMY DEAL.
(flopturnriver might be a large active forum, but it's definitely not the only one around).

so if its all above board and you are willing to pay , why don't you appraoch admin here to use banner advertising rather than sneaking around trying to get adverts for nothing.Use of the word snitch implies that you know you are doing the wrong thing.

Now let's summarize the wiki together:
*Spam is when - content is minimal [link - yep] / unrelated to the topic [how does where to buy poker clothing have anything to do with advice on how to play poker?] / commenting on old threads.

for you maybe , but how does FTR benefit by hosting your advertising for free?

Who am I kidding... All you guys know is how to waist entire lives behind anonymous forum nicknames while posting sarcastic/cynical comments.

lol - someone annonymous would get the links deletd and banned , you hoped that getting an established regular that you could keep getting lots of adverts without your poster getting banned.

I guess both you and I will continue living without this SPAMMY DEAL.
(flopturnriver might be a large active forum, but it's definitely not the only one around).
And what makes you think any of the other large poker forums are going to tolerate your spam advertising?

    Hello celtic,

I thought you might benefit from some 1 on 1 coaching from top poker players.

Coaching Tokens can provide you with unique free poker coaching possibilities from coaches like Girah, LEARNEDFROMTV and Bullitos.

We have 25 coaches in our database, among them are CR and BFP coaches and a lot of other coaches to choose from, whom all have a different approach to the game.

Feel free to email me or add me on Skype and we can discuss any questions you might have.

    Kind regards,
