    Default Lombax Lessons

I want to post some things I learn (or remember I should have known) from time to time. Feel free to comment, whack me over the head, etc.

First tip: don't cold call a big 3-bet from a calling station, particularly out of position. Villain was somewhere around 65/10/10 at the time.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 2.25 Tournament, 25/50 Blinds (9 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    Hero (SB) (t2560)
    BB (t1660)
    UTG (t1745)
    UTG+1 (t1298)
    MP1 (t1217)
    MP2 (t2080)
    MP3 (t855)
    CO (t1325)
    Button (t760)

    Hero's M: 34.13

Preflop: Hero is SB with Q, A
6 folds, Button calls t50, Hero bets t150, BB raises to t500, 1 fold, Hero calls t350

    Flop: (t1050) 9, 10, 8 (2 players)
Hero checks, BB bets t1160 (All-In), Hero folds

    Total pot: t1050

Next lesson: don't shove a middle pair vs. an UTG raise on the bubble. I just ran it through SnG Wiz and this was bad. Like omg-wtf bad. I considered it, didn't insta-shove, because opp had been playing fairly tight. I was thinking "Eh, he's probably got AK-AJ, I'll flip him for it or possibly steal his raise if he doesn't have good cards. I've got some pretty good fold equity on the bubble right?"

Turns out to make shoving 77 profitable here UTG has to be raising about 50% and calling 42%. I won't be doing this again.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 2.25 Tournament, 100/200 Blinds (4 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    SB (t3430)
    Hero (BB) (t2760)
    UTG (t3452)

    Hero's M: 9.20

Preflop: Hero is BB with 7, 7
UTG bets t550, 2 folds, Hero raises to t2760 (All-In), UTG calls t2210

    Flop: (t5620) Q, 2, J (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Turn: (t5620) 5 (2 players, 1 all-in)

    River: (t5620) Q (2 players, 1 all-in)

    Total pot: t5620

    Results below:

UTG had A, J (two pair, Queens and Jacks).
    Outcome: UTG won t5620

One more for today. This one is a mantra I must repeat to myself whenever checking in the BB:

"You checked the BB. You are OOP with a shitty hand." Repeat on flop and with each card revealed. Don't try to get tricky. If you hit the lotto in a major way, bet, otherwise check/fold. Spiking middle pair with no kicker does not a hand make, regardless of what your goofy opponent might do.

    Full Tilt No-Limit Hold'em, 2.25 Tournament, 50/100 Blinds (5 handed) - Full-Tilt Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

3 folds, SB calls t50, Hero checks

    Flop: (t200) A, 9, K (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks

    Turn: (t200) 3 (2 players)
    SB checks, Hero checks

    River: (t200) J (2 players)

I actually think that both the 77 hand is pretty standard.
I think 77 is fine shove for resteal. He's utg 4 handed, that's the cutoff and utg. If he's utg 6 or 7 handed and tight then I could go for a fold.

King-4 hand is kinda meh. If you have a read that he ever spews you can call. but for 2.5x pot there are alot of 2-pair/set/slowplayed stuff in his range.
I do agree that you just have to release vs a flop bet with like bottom pair no kicker or second pair no kicker facing a bet on the flop multiway.

anyways best of luck with your operation.
