Mate of mine I haven't seen for a while is back in town for the night & has invited me down to his sisters birthday. Is it socially acceptable to turn up without a card or gift for the person who is having the birthday? |

It's fine to not bring a card. Alternatively, you could bring a card and have it say happy birthday [friend's] sister, signed, guy who doesn't know you but showed up anyway but make sure you put the smiley face. Bitches love smiley faces.

I was thinking of doing something like that which can only mean you're being sarcastic and I shouldn't do that. |

I am a serial pick-it-up, put-it-down player. I don't do 8 hr gaming sessions. I'd rather play for a few minutes and quit, then maybe play for a few minutes more.

I found out that if you take 2 steel balls and bang them together with a piece of paper in between, it burns a hole in the paper faster than you can blink. No fire, barely a singed edge, just an oddly shaped hole in the paper and the smell of smoke. Works on multiple sheets.

It's going to cost me £13.50 per hour to source a cleaner for my house. This seems a bit too expensive.

Well, you do have to pay them for on-site labor and you're effectively renting any appliances they may use during that time.

£13.50 ph is about double the UK minimum wage, which seems high. I think cleaners are paid a little bit more than minimum wage though to reflect the travel time/costs they incur for only working 2-3 hour shifts.

That feels more to me like some fucked up view of power, as if you think you're better than the people cleaning but not comfortable with that. If you want someone to clean your house & are paying them to do so & they're ok with the job then there is no problem, especially if you're not a dick (which I can't see you being). |

Yeah, I've always notionally valued my time at ten quid per hour but think that's creeping up a bit now I have less time (London rat race). So I've always been good with Albanians cleaning my car for a tenner, as it takes me at least an hour, but that's why I'm stuck on the cleaner thing at current quoted prices.

Furthermore, Europe thinks we're weird because we drink tea with milk in it. They don't. But might I remind Europe who the nation is that is famous for tea? Yeah, us, which means we're right and they're wrong.

This is true world-wide. At least, Americans who spend $5+ on a single cup of coffee - then effectively keep paying by strolling around giving the company free advertising by showing off the branded logo on the cardboard cup - are also pretentious idiots.

I genuinely wouldn't consider a woman I see carrying a coffee down the road. It's one of those trivial things that you can add to my list of things that rule people out, like tattoos, being privately educated up to the age of 18, anybody that uses "LOL" and anybody that describes themselves as bubbly and spontaneous.

My best friend is a smoking hot woman covered in tattoos. I'd love to nail her if she weren't my best friend. I've seen her in her undies and man, the tattoos are most certainly not a turn off.

I just can't get on with tats. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for a short-term thing, but I wouldn't introduce anybody with tats to my parents. I realise this makes me sound narrow minded and bigoted, but ultimately everybody is just looking for a nice looking girl to introduce to their parents right?

Anybody else got grey hair that's on the brink of taking over? I'm thinking of Just For Men-ing it, but maybe that would be tragic and that first day people noticed would be brutal piss-taking. Plus it's more stuff to do.

When I allow a beard to take hold, it has grey patches, but otherwise I'm as brown as I ever was. My brother went grey young though, so I expect it to happen. I'll just dreadlock it, grey dreads look awesome. If my hair starts falling out, I guess I'll shave it off. Just for Men is for faggots.

Small face tat and lots on the hand. The face will probably get covered when her parents are no longer around to stop her!

Go natural. I mean... if you're going to dye your hair, do it punk red or blue or something. Don't do it to pretend that you're somehow just as 'tarded as you were 10 years ago. You're a bit less 'tarded now.
