Default serious sit and go specialist

I have ambitions of becoming a strong sng player and want to slowly move up the ladder. I've probably made all the mistakes with my bankroll that you can make. and other bonehead decisions.

Anyways I feel I am ready to make a serious run.

My current BR is up to 800. I've been playing $20 buy in.
I have read much of the information on this form. including davsimons instructional. read both HOH's debating whether to read TOP. looking to find an ICM program. if anyone can help with this let me know.
I have cut out playing cash games of any sort to focus on sng.
I have limited the # of tables i play at once to two, while paying attention and taking notes not watching tv or instant messaging.
My focus is strong as I have now realized the sacrifice and hardwork that is demanded to achieve my goals.

Is there anything I have missed?
I realize this will be a tough process and any help will be much appreciated!

Post alot of hh and be open minded to what is suggested.

Are you trying to play for a living? (I assume not, but maybe so)
Are you working towards really multi-tabling (4-12 tables)
Do you keep accurate records of your results?
Do you analyze your HH, and as junkie said, post them to get better?
Do you own a PC, and if so, you should probably purchase SnGWiz.

The most important thing you can do is fight through any and all discouragement. Accept criticism for what it is, and allow yourself to become better for it. You will probably be lambasted with warnings of how brutal and unforgiving these little tournaments can be, and for tough and skilled you need to be, but if it really matters to you then stick with it, and good luck.

Read ToP for sure, then probably Kill Everyone. Maybe the moshman book too, I have not read it but people here seem to like it.

    I have a FT job.
Originally I had the intention of playing many tables, after reading some posts on this site and being burnt in a few tournaments from lack of attention, I would be okay with 4 max.
I use my BR as a gauge of my results, and also sharkscope. and look through my HH for assessment of my play. (but not very thorough)
I have my own pc. and will download the trial version of SNGWIZ asap. also will try to find time to read through TOP. and possibly reread HOH. I have till Sept before I will be much busier.

    Thanks for the advice everyone.

Yes, for other types of ICM calculations (eg. calling all-in after raising and getting shoved over) take a look in the SNG Tactics Digest where I set out some example ICM calculations.

That said, preflop all-in shove/call/fold decisions are the vast majority of ICM decisions you make in SNGs anyway.

I guess it helps if you stay awake while playing. lol fell asleep short stacked and was blinded out. Looked thru hand history and folded AQ on the big blind lol sigh. No more playing on the bed.

Yes, that would be the "serious" part.
