Default New York Senate Finance Committee Passes Bill to Regulate Internet Poker

Here is an excerpt from today's PPA email:
Washington, D.C. (June 2, 2016) – The Poker Players Alliance (PPA), the leading poker grassroots advocacy group with 1.2 million enthusiasts nationwide and more than 40,000 advocates in New York, today applauds the New York Senate Finance Committee for passing S.5302—a bill to license and regulate internet poker in the state—and urges swift movement of the bill as it proceeds through the legislative process.

I'm optimistic but at the same time have heard this before in other states:

"The New York legislature should move quickly to pass online poker legislation with strong consumer protections into law this year."

But it's a huge step that it actually passed, hopefully soon.

There has also been talk for Michigan but the bill was just introduced and hasn't passed yet.

Yeah, it has been a slow and frustrating process waiting for more states to join the online movement.

This is what Rich Muny tweeted on June 18th:
The NY legislative session has wrapped up with no further action on online #poker. DFS passed. We start next year at the front of the line.
