Advice on a hand
I'd love some commentary on my thoughts for this hand. I don't normally play rush but received $20 worth of tickets so decided to give it a go.
I've played 25 hands against the villain who is 13/8. I noticed a 60% steal blind (3 from 5) so decided his range must be pretty wide on the button and therefore his bet could just be a steal. I re-raise because I've had 65% fold for the 500 or so hands I've played rush. It seems people are wary of the SB raising because you can simply fold out & move on vs. BB who has to stick around until someone bets.

Pre Flop: ($0.07) Hero has J 5
fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, fold, BTN raises to $0.17, fold, Hero raises to $0.40, BTN calls $0.23
His flat call makes me think it's most likely a broadway but could be small pp. I didn't get much more information other than it was good enough to continue not good enough to raise
Flop: ($0.82, 2 players) 7 T 5
Hero bets $0.25, BTN raises to $1.57, Hero calls $1.32
I've hit the flop (poorly) but thinking he was pot stealing I wanted to try to show some strength. I had initiative from my PF raise.
His raise was a concern - very strong. I think the call here was an error.
Turn: ($3.96, 2 players) 5
Hero checks, BTN bets $10.76 and is all-in, Hero calls $5.18 and is all-in
I got lucky with the 5 plain & simple. I do have a tough choice but. He could have a set making his full house but it also puts 2 flush draws on the cards & I've showed some strength. I took this bet as, "I've got the best hand now but am worried about a flush, go away". Because of the size of the bet I discounted the full house as I'm thinking why would you want to stop a flush? Surely you'd value bet it. I think he may be on a high pair and my trips are probably good hence the call.
River: ($14.32, 2 players) A
In hindsight, it's likely that my attempt to defend getting called was as far as I should have taken this hand, it failed & I should have moved on.
I'd appreciate thoughts on this.
