Most definitely not card dead tonight. 50 hands into the session and I've had AA, AK, AK, AQ, AQ, JJ, TT, my T9s flopped 678 and villain stacked off...
Let's hope it doesn't stop for mid-end game

Sick river. When he bet the turn I figured he could have ducks, so river was an easy overbet shove for value

I don't just mean losing tournaments - on an individual hand when you lose a huge chunk of your stack, you have to try and shrug it off and keep bringing your A-game right down to the last chip.

I ended up 12th on that last table, so a small profit for the night but not happy with my play. I was too tight in the endgame and paid for it, waiting for cards that never came. Bleh

IMO on post #182, you should call, you hold the 3rd to most chips in the table , so even if you lose this hand you will still be able to take it back. |

so you think SB is 3bet shoving 23BB with Ax,Kx, Qx into an UTG+1 opener who has him covered multiple times?. He still has a decent stack and isn't needing to make a move yet. far more likely that he has QQ+ here. |

no, i think the SB has AA,KK or QQ ..... |

and what equity had QQ+ got vs AQs? Pretty sure AQs is a dog to that range but meh got stars open so can't equilab it at the moment.. AQs is a 28:72 dog , so why do you want to chuck a third of your chips his way? |

I feel like that AK hand is a bit awkward, reckon we could play turn differently? That might be being a bit results orientated on the river card though. I struggle to see him having that many Qx in his range but his sizing at this level makes it a pretty obvious he has you beat and wants some value. |

Ak hand: I think you played it fine. Villain really shouldn't be value betting worse as he can't expect you to fold Ax, so I think we can check fold. Villains can't hand read either, so he probably thinks you have Qx sometimes and that would dissuade betting.

Not happy with this river sizing. I have a lot of success with small river bets to induce spazz from busted draws, but the pot was already too big for that. I should have just bet a bit bigger and got more value from his calling hands...

Here's an interesting hand with a villain who was 12/10 over 42 hands. I wasn't really happy with calling the flop, he has JJ+ very often here. But when he shoved turn I felt a bit better about calling because he was clearly happy to try to take the pot right there.

It's an app for playing around with shoving and calling range, with quizzes to test your knowledge. The free version only allows you to look at really short stacks, but it seems ok if not spectacular.

I think in times like that villain is going to be really face up at this level, so we only need a couple of showdowns for really good reads, and we don't need to worry about being exploited because we have plenty in our range to call with (not that villain will be thinking along those lines). In this scenario I actually think it makes our decision easy. |

I don't think it's a snap fold. We're short and looking for a spot to GII, and pot bets in general are not a show of strength. If we were HU on the flop I would have had a much harder time folding.

I still see so many people sizing their AK 3bets too big. Prolly because they have no idea how to play if they don't pair the flop. Like, I was 80% sure this was AK when the bet came out
