Learn the math and language of game theory and probability theory. Honestly, if you're the kind of person who thinks it's OK to say they are "bad at math," then I don't expect you'll be playing poker for long, anyway. So follow your natural inquisitions about poker, and if they don't involve math, realize that you're trying to "feel" your way through topics which are quite well described in math. Yes, plenty of successful players do it w/o math, but they are unlikely to have done so playing online poker. Playing live at the table is definitely less about math and more about psychological warfare, but poker is always about both. It's easier to beat live games w/o math if you have a strong sense of reading peoples' intentions. | |
