OK I really don't get the NBA's scheduling now

You run Game 5 in LA against:

    1. Father's Day
    2. The final round of the US Open in California

All the while you took two days off, instead of one. They could have had a Friday and Sunday game instead they go like Tues Thurs Sunday. Great job there boys.

whats the worst that could happen, their star player rapes a 19 yr old girl then buys his way out of it?

What is up with this fake hustle defense crap? Luke Walton picking up Pierce at half court is a good defensive play because Pierce isn't used to bringing the ball up facing half court pressure.

And isn't Dick Bavetta under federal investigation for fixing games? Wtf david stern?

Lakers snuck one out. Almost made it back to back massive chokes. WTF Phil? Chris Mihm??? Really??? OK, Guess you have 9 rings or whatever but Ronny at least plays with heart AND HAS PLAYED IN THE LAST 2 MONTHS.

Jesus, get in front of somebody and take a charge. Shit, Fisher use to have like 4 of those a game. I would just plant his ass right in the middle of the lane and tell him not to move, because Pierce will be coming through EVERY FUCKING PLAY.

You had a shot Lakers, you take game 4 you might have done it. Now, unless Micheal Cooper suits up and plays Pierce you are done in 6.

Walton, you are a train wreck. Sasha, great intensity on D ( not always great D but you aggravate people and give it 100% ) which is more then I can say for everybody else. Gasol, HIT THE FREAKING WEIGHT ROOM. Never seen a big man with NO power move. If you could dominate the middle a bit Garnett would be in foul trouble every game and we would have open shooters. At least be able to knock down a 10 foot open jumper. THE FREAKING Triangle is designed for that, you pass that shot up because your scared to put it up it throws EVERYTHING off.

Why the hell does Rodmonavich start?? He hits like 3 shots a game and I never see him rebound or anything. Terrible ball handler. He's like the white version of Glen Rice. Great if the defense forgets about you and leaves you standing all alone behind the 3 line. You have a damn pretty shot then, otherwise I have no idea why you are out there.

Odom...I just don't know. I think the match up is tough for you but c'mon. take it to the rim strong. Stop flying out of control and leaning at the basket. Drive and finish, or drive and pull up for the short jumper, but be IN CONTROL. If I have to see you trying to score and looking like a cross between a southern baptist in church and someone who just stepped off a bungee jump at the state fair I'm gonna puke.

I'm keeping the dream alive for a Laker miracle but my guess is Boston wraps it up game 6.

Next year we may be talking about the same 2 teams in the finals. Bynum being back and Gasol is going to make for a nice team. Wish the hell Bynum could be in now, he may have changed alot in this series. Oh well...

pao is all finesse, no strength.

radmanovic is a mess. at least walton has the excuse of, you know, not being a starter.

I swear Rajon Rondo's only move is that hybrid runner/hook sorta thing. It seems like he gets a lot of good looks with it but it's been a little off tonight.

I think everyone just forgot how good Boston was after the first 2 rounds. They were the favorite to win the championship when the playoffs started, then they were the underdog by time the finals got here.

meh, nba is rigged anyway so who knows.

I feel good knowing that the Cavs were very clearly the closest team to knocking off the Celtics. 3-0 at home, 0-4 on the road but the games were competitive and the cavs arguably had a couple good chances to steal a game in Boston. The hawks also went 7, but got blown out all 4 road games. The Pistons and Lakers both lost at least one game at home.

I know I'm probably stretching a bit and probably being a little overly optimistic but I don't care.

yessssssss! so happy to see LA lose, and even more happy to see KG, paul pierce, and ray allen get a ring. i stopped worrying about a come back at about 6 minutes left when they opened it to like 35 points.

yeah, well, the way the series had been going, 20 and 24 point comebacks in the 4th quarter, you just couldnt say for sure the game was over.

    also, sports are so unfair.

major boston sports teams have 6 titles in recent memory.

major cleveland sports teams have 0 titles in 40+ years, have never played in a super bowl, have never won an nba finals *game*, etc.

    long lost twins imo.

speaking of bill russell, in the post game analysis on espn they were comparing KG to him. i always thought bill russell was an offensive machine like chamberlin, obv not as dominant (offensively), but he averaged like 15 ppg.

heh, kinda reminds me of most sports fans warped sense of the word 'average'.

i.e. the 53rd man on the dolphins would be considered 'average' or maybe even 'solid' by a casual dolphins fan.

    Jason Taylor.

Ignoring my nittiness, any dolphins fan will tell you that the dolphins suck. Actually, I take that back, there are some that won't. Most will.

Ask them about, say, their 3rd string running back, and you'll get something like "oh he's a special teams ace and can come in and contribute at RB. he's a leader in the locker room. solid player."

i've read enough football posts/forums to know this...

perhaps. i dont really keep up with football in the offseason. and yeah, i know jason taylor is good, but hes getting old, and their team is a total wreck was my basic point. haha, oh but they have ricky back, FTW! or at least until he blazes one up and fails another U.A.

i wasnt sure if he was talking about boston or cleveland. i leaned towards cleveland at first since its near indiana. however, nothing good ever happens to cleveland sports fans (no offense lukie ), so that leaves me very confused.

I was talking about Boston fans. I've never been to a game in Cleveland so I have no clue what their fans are like, besides why would I be bitter about Cleveland sports teams when they haven't won a title since before I was born?

Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of assholes in other cities but Boston is the only place where people have dumped a beer can on me in the bathroom of the Garden and screamed in my ear for the entire game. I think their fans are at another level of douchebaggery.

major cleveland sports teams have 0 titles in 40+ years, have never played in a super bowl, have never won an nba finals *game*, etc.

    what a crock of shit
And their fans are for the most part a bunch of drunk douchebag assholes. They don't deserve to be happy. Why do good things have to happen to bad people?
not to let this lolpost go completely unnoticed...

thanks for letting us all know that all cleveland sports fans are bad people and don't deserve to be happy. and that cleveland sports fans are a bunch of drunk douchebag assholes (of course this phenomenon can only be found in cleveland and nowhere else).

I think their fans are at another level of douchebaggery.
ahhh, I must have misunderstood you. To be honest, I've never been to a major sporting event outside of Cleveland so I can't really comment. Indians games are very tame though, and Cavs games aren't too bad either. The Browns have a reputation for having some pretty tough fans but I don't really see it that much to be honest, but then again I'm a pretty big guy and I've only been to a couple games in the recent past.

Good natured ribbing is one thing, but you're right that some fans definitely cross the line and if it involves anything physical like pouring beer on someone, that's wayyyy past that line. This is all just speculation I guess, but I could see how Boston fans could be real pricks with all the success they've had recently. Heck even OSU fans can be pretty brutal, and I love ohio state.

haha so this is actually funny thinking about all this. Last year I went to a couple indians games. Attendance always sucked, except for one that had decent turnout.. against the red sox. I swear there were almost as many red sox fans than Indians fans, and I remember a couple of them annoying me, but nothing so blatant that I'd remember a year later.

this was during the regular season, not the playoffs.

RANT that's going in this thread because there's no better place

I can't fucking stand sportscenter and their stupid fucking sob stories. i swear to god every fucking day that have some lameass story about an ugly kid that can't speak right with __________ disease and blah blah blah blah. they'll spend 10 minutes on this shit yet they'll spend 1 minute on highlights for an important sports game [it's a fucking sports highlight show, give me a break).

"SportsCenter" : Sports news, scores, analysis, and highlights.

BULLLLLLLLSHIT! why can't they just cut the crap and give us what everyone wants instead of pandering to soccer moms and 8 yr old kids?

    oh wait, thats it nvm

hearing/reading the term 'politically correct' or any variant of it just irritates me, for many reasons
