Default Need Jack Sawyer Help (aka computer stuffs)

I have a netgear a6200 wireless card and an asus RT-N66U router. I can't get my internal network speeds over 144Mbps.

Any ideas why? I don't really know what I'm doing. I've tried messing with the frequency (currently have 20/40 for 2.4 and 40 for 5).

I've started to analyze all the wireless networks in my apartment building that show up and there are a lot of channel 6 g and n signals (like 4 others). My 2.4 is currently channel 6. Could this be an issue?

Also, I haven't figured out how to get connects to the 5 ghz channel 157 and 161.

A quick glance indicates that the router rocks, but the wifi card sucks. See "Performance" here: http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,2817,2422108,00.asp

Later tonight when I have some time I'll research this for ya. I'm not well versed into external ac adapters

Doesnt have to be external. That card was recommended by someone else.

You already have ASUS, so I'd stick with that brand for the card as well. ac, afaicr, seemed finicky back then.

Try this one, be sure to get the drivers of ASUS' site before doing anything
