Default Chopping prize pool not allowed by casino

Good news...for me! There is a casino in my town that has an evening tournament 4 times a week, and they have a policy that chopping the prize pool is absolutely not allowed. I asked the floorman why they have this rule, and he said that they want to make the tournaments as pleasant as possible for the players. We all know how awfully contentious it gets when people start arguing about the chop.

I call this good news because I hate chopping. So I played in the tournament and made it to the final table (finished 5th), and I've gotta tell you...the no chop policy made everything more pleasant.

What do you think about the policy? (And yes, even when it comes down to two players, the casino STILL doesn't allow a chop!)

Default Apparently, lots of floormen would love this policy

Just got back from a limit poker cash game. I told the floorman there about the policy Barona casino has about not chopping the prize pool. He said he wishes it were that way at the card room he works in...

Do you wish your card room had a no chopping policy?

Whilst it sounds like an interesting question, I'm pretty sure the answer is that people who like chops don't want the rule, and people who don't like chops do.
Just dipping my toes back in.

Most rooms will accommodate chop requests since it frees up the dealer and table for cash games. They don't lose any rake or tip money by ending a tournament early.
Some days it feels like I've been standing forever, waiting for the bank teller to return so I can cash in all these Sklansky Bucks.

Oh I love arguing about chops. I gave away $27 of my $2427 equity to break a deal once.

Another time, we were playing three handed at ft for like three hours, during which time I dominated and emerged from short stack to big stack. So I offered an even three way chop when I took the chip lead. The short stack rejected!!! He bust out next hand, against me. He flat called AQ to my 3bet with A7, flop A7x. Oops.

To those who don't like chopping... don't chop. Noone is making you. Just be honest with the table... if someone says to me "I don't want to chop" then I won't raise the subject again unless that person busts out or reconsiders of his own accord. If there's someone at the table who badgers those who don't want to chop, he's the arsehole for persisting, not you for not chopping.

I don't mind a rule that bans chops, it wouldn't stop me playing a game.
