    Default dry runs

So what do you guys do to turn things around when you're hitting an extremely dry run of cards?

I've been playing online for the last 2 hours and it's taken just about all I have to break even. I might have hit 2 suited connectors and 2 pocket pairs during this time...one or two hands with 2 face cards...the rest have been complete rags...94o, 10/2o, a4o, k2, 82...and of course the ever popular 72o a number of times...

Do you tend to loosen up a bit just to break the boredom or do you just keep playing your normal game?

I try to stay patient, but it's tough. Especially when the couple of hands you DO hit get cracked. Probably the best bet is to take a break for a while.

Yeah...that was the problem...every time I was in the blind and end up flopping top pair it never ended up being good enough.

Taking a little break...hopefully the poker gods will smile upon me in the morning.

Well, my bad-card funk has ended. Since the original post, I'm up 40 bucks Patience is a virtue.

Patience is critical to winning at poker. I never play less than 4 tables at once, so while I'll have runs of bad luck, I'll never had extended runs of awful cards.

Long term is days and tens of thousands of hands. Keep that in mind when the cards are running bad.

I'd rather be running cold than running second best...

    Very true.

I've had sessions where I've seen <10% of flops and losing, sessions where I've seen >40% of flops and winning a ton. But the sessions I hate the most are those were I see ~30% of flops and lose big. When big hands go up against bigger hands and my monsters get cracked time and again.
I don't know what they have to say
    It makes no difference anyway.
    Whatever it is...
    I'm against it.

Default go down a few limits

Whenever I hit a dry run, I go back to like .10/.20 or .25/.50 tables and take money from fish. It puts a smile back on your face.

If you start paying fishy out of boredom, then that is kinda wrong.

Play an online game or something to amuse yourself during the cold time. That's what I do.
