Default What's my 3b for value range?

    Villain sat down recently

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.50 BB (5 handed) - Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com

    MP ($15.05)
    Button ($50)
    SB ($50.70)
    Hero (BB) ($78.80)
    UTG ($49.25)

Preflop: Hero is BB with cards
1 fold, MP calls $0.50, 1 fold, SB bets $3.50, Hero raises to $14

Without any reads I flat a lot of hands that I would normally 3-bet just because I don't know if that's a standard raise for him or not.
Also I would make it more like 10, especially if I'm planning on ever 3b bluffing in that spot - which I do.
I might go as far as just 3-betting AK+, JJ+, but any indication that he might be aggro could dramatically change that.

I agree, I'd prefer to 3x it, seeing as I have position on him.

A 3bet looks insanely strong here and you have no info on villain.
I might not be having a 3bet for value range here as I might not have a 3bet range at all.

I guess QQ+ or something and AK as a semibluff.

My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

when we 3bet one of the primary reasons for normal sizing, which is 3 to 4x opponents' open, is to eliminate implied odds. when we have position, he makes a huge pfr to open the action, and we are only 100bb deep, we dont need to make a big raise in relation to his open size. I think making it something other than 8.75-9.50 is pretty bad. It's way easier for him to make stupid peels and jams when he thinks we might be FOS.

Nuts, are you ever gonna write that article/post about 3bet sizing resulting from the coaching challenge?

This. I started writing about it and then realized I was absolutely clueless and still am.

I doubt it's ok to do that in NL50 considering most people don't felt worse than AK

I've been known to raise as high as 10xbb in the SB there if I believe the limper will call.

Oops, missed the limper...nevermind, his sizing seems standard then
