    Default TPTK turn play

Again, no reads on this guy yet. On the river hindsight made me wish I'd folded the turn after his c/r value bet line. Is that too weak?

with Ace or King of clubs i check back flop, b/c club turns, b/f A,K,Q,J (non-club)
the reason i b/f TP is i don't expect villain to show up with worse on turn x/r.

without a club in my hand i would b/f flop, check back pretty much all turns and eval river.
i would b/f flop as villain will likely play straight forward, and x/r or at least x/c overpairs, sets, and random combo draws.

checking back the turn even when we hit will save us some money in the long run, we sacrifice a few $$ when villain holds exactly JJ, but its not much as i don't expect him to call turn and river if we try to bet/bet.

im not saying this out of fear or the monster under the bed thinking, i just want not get felted when theres deception going on. ( villain checks twice, then raises OTT) i mean since we don't have a club he could have AcKx, but we have blockers to that and cant call to chop.

Yeah I did really regret not checking back that flop and playing for a much smaller pot on the river. I think I'd be happy to call a small bet on the river (<8bb) had I checked but definitely not 42bb.

bad thing is villain will be exploiting us here sometimes and it sucks. I usually do this when I fall into "auto-pilot" about midway through my session 9 tabling. after I get x/r im like fml why didn't I just freakin check. lol

    did you call river?

I did end up calling. It's one of my leaks that I'm actively trying to fix that I call too many rivers in spots like this (ie/ when I know I'm probably beat). Slowly but surely improving there though, and posting hands and getting advice is definitely helping.

Wow, I don't like the way he played his set of tens but it worked out for him this time.

Yeah, if he's confident Hero will c-bet on the flop then the check is cool.

This is just one of those crappy spots, where the line you took gives you a capped range (or at least an assume capped range).

Some ppl will use your capped range (assumed no flush) to value bet more appropriately (ie: two pair +, even though flush is out) and others will try to attack you and take you off an obv one pair hand. Without reads, tough to say which is the case here.

GTO wise I'd assume you're at the top of your range, and should be calling.
