Pocket f***ing pairs

What's the consensus on these types of situations (inc. ones where opponent hasn't limped)? If I bet, I'm mostly turning my hand into a bluff that doesn't work, and if I don't I get raped. Assume opp is unknown.

Good flop for a nice strong C-bet here. He cant really continue without a king, 89 or 55. Chances are good you have best hand.

See, this kind of thinking is why I made this thread.

So if he calls with all the hands that beat us, and folds all the hands that we beat, we make money how exactly?

we make money because he folds most of his hands
we can have two uno cards and still make money

but his random garbage hands like 76 still have tons of outs against us, he just doesn't know it

is there some reward the villain gets for playing his hand perfectly postflop? bet your weak pairs here because its profitable and also not profitable for you to call a turn and/or river bet. consider checking back with 88, 9x, etc.

when he folds, we win the money in the pot. when we check, we allow him to profitably steal from us on later streets because we can't call.

I think it's more interesting if we're in position and it's checked to us. Also, I pretty much never raise w/ this hand in this spot PF, seems like just a complete and go from there to me.

Yeah, completing is standard for me with 77-, mainly because we get into this situation 7/8 times.

Definately nothing wrong with just taking down a pot when we're ahead with but an incredibly weak hand unlikely to improve.

Def agree that 44 is a bet here.. What about 98s here? I mean there isn't much value to be had. But c/calling kinda sucks being OOP, and making our hand fairly transparent. What's the consensus here?

I normally become a stat-whore with 89s here. If he bets when checked to a lot I c/c down, if he doesnt stab often I might c/c one street, if he calls too much I'd cbet for value, stuff like that.

You are HU with initiative vs. a limper. There are very few kings in his range, I am firing 2 barrels.

Yeah I'd go with 2, maybe 3 barrel depending on what cards come, if he cal/calls then his range is pretty weak on the river.

Obv player dependent, but seeing as he is a limp/caller you can assume he is a somewhat tricky player.

Pre I think a call is better.
