    sandstorm,

Take note. This is what a poker graph is supposed to look like!

I'm not 100% sure where we started the prop bet as this was for the last 9 days (since I downloaded PT after I had to reformat my hard drive.) My best estimate is somewhere around the 18k hand mark.

Lets see... 44k hands on the graph. 29k hands on my "since 11/13/06 tab on pokertracker-- we started when I was at 3k hands and -$800ish). So yeah, approximately around the 18k mark is where we started this.

lol, you should see the massive downswing that preceeded that graph (and the epic heater before that). That graph is a bit choppy, that's all.

BTW, I made another 5 buyins tonight.

Lol... I hate that shit. You obvioulsy have the best hand so just hit the call button. It's not like the rest of the table isn't going to to find out what he has in about 3 seconds anyways.

yeah it irritated me to be honest, but I try not to let those things get to me. It was a bad play though considering my image (was 3-betting light everywhere). If I woke up with AA it would have been a great check/push (with the same result but who cares).

Oh man, i'm glad if I can put in 1500-2000 hands a day the rest of the days. I have to start running insanely good or it's bye bye $100. It's 2 PM, just woke up, have a massive hangover, my neck hurts from all the headbanging, le'ts tear up the tables.

Oh I also hate that you only can 6-table at PArty and that my cashout from Pokespoker (that I will put into Eurobet) is taking like 2+ weeks

You can only 6 table at party??? A while back (pre-legislation obviously), they changed the limit from 10 to 12. Now it's 6? Ouch.

Shhh....don't spoil the party!!! (I'm at +25 buy-ins for November too by the way)

Stars has been very, very good to me and I've never really been as successful in the short periods that I've played somewhere else. Not sure why it has such a reputation for poor game selection.

I'm still trying to get even in november.

The good news is that I'm up as far as blinds go (but still down a bit as far as $$$ goes), and that I'm on a nice little ~10k upswing.
  23. #98
Today I will play the greatest poker ever. If I don't suceed with that, I'm down to 200NL for a while. (Still feels nice to play at a 40+ buyin roll for 400NL when you feel you suck)

nice nice. Don't force it though, and I'm not just saying that because you have some ground to make up in a silly prop bet. If you're playing good then keep playing.

Honestly, I've played more poker in the last week then I've ever played in a one week stretch, ever. As of last night, I was up to 37k hands since the prop bet, LOL.

PS, right now it is 9:50am and I am going on about 3 hours of sleep. I plan to go play basketball at my rec-center after having only a protein bar to eat. Fucking kill me now I want to go pass out on my bed again.

Roday this far: 1k hands, breakeven. A fucking heroic achievement considering I lost:

1 stack with QQ vs AJ all in preflop
1 stack with KK vs AQs all in on a JKx flop
1 stack with AQ vs 77 all in on the river (half stacks in on the turn, river 7, I payed uberaggro off)
1 stack total with crap like AK vs shorty T9 all in preflop

Not much to whine about, but they just keep adding up now. Playing great though (getting the monies in etc)

Man, if I wasn't running/playing great, I'd hit up full tilt.

Part of the reason that I think I'm doing really well right now is that I'm extremely comfortable (having played stars 2/4NL for such a long time) and that I am very familiar with the player pool. I basically sit down at 12 tables full of regulars and go from there. If there is one big fish at a table, it is an EXCELLENT table and there is usually a waiting list to join it...
  41. #116
How many hands do you have on 2/4?
I just realized I am 1k hands from 100k hands of shorthanded total (since June somewhere, I have accelerated my pace since then) starting at 100NL. Expect a big rate-my-stats-post tomorrow. Finished today up $500 or so, good night.

    Btw, why Full Tilt?
(I am gonna OWN the 400NL 5max at Eurobet as soon as I get my %"&%!"#/!"#%& money in Neteller)

hmm, I honestly have no idea how many hands I've logged at 2/4. Several hundred thousand. Definitely less then 500,000 though. Keep in mind, I've been at 2/4 on and off for a good 6-7 months now, and this certainly isn't one of my bad stretches.

Full tilt because I hear the games are much softer then the stars games and rival those of the old party. I'm having too much fun and success on stars right now to worry about that, even with rakeback in question.

    GL on eurobet.

so yesterday, I waited 4 hours in line for a 5/10 table to sit with this whale. And trust me, do I mean whale. The two coolest hands I saw were when he open-limped his bn with 88 (150bb eff) and stacked off with one of the blinds on a 752r board in an unraised pot. SB I think? showed 75, allin on flop, turn K, river 2. Same guy lost allin preflop with AA to whale's 88. Other halarity ensues.

I got to the table and after 19 hands, it broke up. I think someone finally showed some real aggression to the beast and it got scared. damn. By the way, the waiting list was at 8+ for hours and peaked at 10+ at times. As soon as the guy left the table broke up instantly.

hmmm, tonight kinda sucked but I'm probably just being petty. I'm very tired so I only played about 2400 hands and made $700ish.

That said, tonight was heater material. I ran awesome but played so shitty. All of my hands held, I had a couple nice suckouts, was up 5 or 6 buyins at one point, then I just started spewing and making bad calldowns.

Things could be worse, so whatever.

One thing that I do want to point out that I felt a good job of doing the last couple days is quitting when I'm not mentally ready to play.

Yesterday I had 2 sessions. At the end of the first one I was just running terribly and was probably steaming a bit. It was definitely affecting my play. I took an hour or two break, came back, and turned a -3ish buyin day into a +3ish buyin day.

Today, I felt like I was playing bad, possibly due to being tired after only getting 5 or 6 hours of sleep last night in order to get up for thanksgiving dinner (that happened to be breakfast for me @ 4pm), so I just wrapped it up. I'm disappointed that I didn't take real advantage of what was obviously a nice run of cards, but I also know that in the past I have dropped a LOT of money in similar situations, so to say that I made almost 2 buyins on the night is cool. I will wake up tomorrow happy.

I just played about 5500 hands. Everything that could possibly go wrong, did.

When all was said and done, I dropped about 4 buyins. Nothing too major, but it did snap my streak of almost 2 weeks without a losing day. I'll be back tomorrow.

Actually, wait, scratch that. There WAS one hand that everything went perfect. I didn't lead the turn nor river like I was tempted to. Interestingly, I think the only time that this guy (I've played with him a bunch) has ever pulled a prahlad style river bet, I had it (it being the nuts).

hyachachachach, one thing I love about pokerstars is they always come up with such creative ways to screw people. I think I'm going to email them today and ask them to turn my boomswitch back on though.

the good news: the games at 10 am are remarkably soft. A ton of the regulars are raising less then 10% of their hands, people actually call raises form the blinds and routinely check/fold after the flop bet and there are actually players that resemble a classic 'fish' instead of the lower-end tagg/nitty regulars that I normally consider to be the fish. Awesome.

17k hands over 36 hrs? i did some quick math...

    5500 hands/day /12 tables/ ~75 hands/hr = 6.5 hours

so, 6.5 hours per day of 12 tabling...and there you go 17k hands in 3 days...VERY IMPRESSIVE!

but, what i liked most... dealt AA 25 times every day
    cracked 5.5 times every day

most of us would love to have AA cracked 5 times every day...lol.

that is a shitload of hands, man...keep it up!

lol, yeah, it is a shitload of hands.

I've only been playing 2-3k hands a day for the last few days, and it feels nice. PS, I've had aces cracked, mangled, laughed at, and pissed on in more ways then you will ever want to know.

I've since recouped most of my losses of my 11-12ish buyin downswing. To end my session last night, I was 2-tabling heads up with this guy and the games were just brutally aggressive. I still ended up a couple buyins on him but these 2 hands here are just frustration, tilt, being tired, and probably a couple other things. The first hand possibly (definitely) lead to the second hand. I wasn't too happy. The river call in the 2nd one comes with some history in that I had snap called reasonably large river bets, but never a full buyin when my hand was face-up on the table. Put that down as a miserable call. I immediately x'd out of both tables after it happened, and it took me all of 1 or 2 minutes to completely regain my composure. I was too tired though at that point to go back and play. I think we were both sitting like 800-1000 deep on the other table where he had not rebought and I had.

good god the games are soft earlier in the day. I made about 4 buyins just now but could easily have made 10+. I need to start waking up at 10am more often. Oh yeah in the last few days I completely busted out of my 11-12 buyinish downswing. It wasn't worth my time.

ps, yes that says 99k hands in 19 days. I'm not sure if this is a good thing or a bad thing. It's far and away my most concentrated stretch of hands ever and I'm honestly not drained in the least. I think this is a good thing.

    lukie,

    3 things:

    1) did you use that graphing link posted earlier in the thread to get that graph up?
    2) 16k in 20 days is more than most "9-5ers" make in a quarter...great run.
    3) dont be offended, but if you jam this many hands in a day by 12-tabling, how can you make any reads and "improve your game?" i think i saw you ask somewhere that you wanted to improve your game. can you make reads? how accurate are they? i have enough trouble paying attention to 2 tables of 6max, and can only 4-table FR games. i hardly make reads on FR, too. do you have any tricks, or are you just on speed all day?

    3. I honestly have a hard time answering this question. On one hand, I feel that I have an incredible ability of making fast, decent decisions, even in tough spots. Sometimes I find myself pondering what to do facing a large river bet while going on 'auto-pilot' on other tables and I still feel I make reasonably good decisions in these spots. As far as reads go, consider that I don't really practice table selection and have no problem sitting down in a game full of regulars. Between being very familiar with the 2/4 player pool, my HUD, and what I feel is a very good ability to multitask, and the fact that I've played 8+ tables for such a long time, I feel that I am still able to put these things together and make decent reads and good decisions. If I cut the # of tables in half, I feel I could play better, at the expense of some short-term profits.

your "multi-tasking" ability must be phenom. next you will tell me that you cut your hair, brush your teeth, and take a dookie while having 11 tables open...lol.

if you can even make semi-reads w/ 8+ tables open, i say do it up. cutting your tables in half seems it would not boost profit enough to justify doing it...for you.

the rest of us prolly need to stick to a couple tables at a time.

    thanks for the answers.

There's this guy over at 2p2 who is like an arch-nemesis to me, yvesaint. He was down to 3 tabling 1/2 earlier with his entire roll. Naturally, I had to sit at these tables and help him enroute to bustoville. The whole session started off when he pushed A6s into my 3-bet (KK) and doubled up with aces up HYACHACHACH. I pulled up 12 tables b/c I hate red in pokertracker and ended up dropping like 6 stacks, 4 or so of which I sent to him.

ps, losing over $1/hand at 1/2 is embarrassing. Getting stacked with an overpair at over 200bb deep (thank god by someone else) is also fairly bad. oh well.

o rly? He had between 1k-1.5k spread over three 1/2 tables a couple hours ago when I quit. God I am so pissed that I sent like $800 his way. I don't even care about the 6 stacks that I dropped. I don't really hate the guy but he's just so cocky and annoying, and he tells me to die way too much.
