Default Keeping track of pocket pairs 10-10 and higher

I have been keeping track of how well I do with pocket pairs of 10-10, JJ, QQ, KK and AA since Friday, 2/13/04. Over the last 12 days I have won 49 of the 70 hands that I have been dealt one of these hands. That's 70%.

Since 2/13/04 I have won 16 of the 18 hands that I have been dealt AA.

Now, while I know that this is an excellent winning percentage and is going to even out sooner or later, I wonder if it is making me susceptible for the future. I am now betting these hands super-aggressively and taking down big pots with them because I am feeling very good about my chances with them over the last 12 days of keeping track. I almost feel unbeatable with these hands and it is scary because I know things have a tendency to even out and once this does I will be losing large amounts of my bankroll if I keep with my current strategy when dealt these hands.

So, my question is, do I continue my super-aggressive play with these hands? Do I temper my excitement in an effort to get myself into the proper frame of mind? I guess, if it ain't broke don't fix it right now. But, I just do not want to get myself to the point where when I do start to have a bad streak with these cards I get on tilt and end up losing everything that I've managed to build up over the past 2 weeks.

    Any thoughts?

Enjoy the good fortune that has come from winning such a high percentage...

There is no reason to play these cards hyper-aggressively, but at the same time, you should NOT limp in or play passively (despite what people say). Play them aggressively, but be wary of scary-looking flop and turn cards...

Congrats on the lucky streak! I had my AA destroyed recently. I raised $6 pre-flop at a $0.25/$0.50 NL table and still had one caller. The flop came 3A3, and my all-in was smacked down by 33 (why he called a $6 raise pre-flop, I'll never understand). I still play AA strong, but I'm quicker to lay them down when the board tells me to...

    How are you playing 10-10?

In cash ring games with 10 players I've either been raising them for show or playing set. It's just too easy to beat without a set, particulary if you have multiple callers.

Although I picked up a pretty good pot with it today. A raise got me heads up and the flop came Jack high. Took a stab at it, call. Took another stab, call. Oh #$%& he probably really has it. Ten comes up on the river. All-in, he shows his pair of Jacks and I claim the rest of his stack.

Yeah, I have still been playing these hands fairly aggressively since my 2/25/04 post. Since that post I am still winning a little over 68% of these hands which I cannot believe is still happening. I have recently some across a hard luck run whenever I have JJ. Seems that is the hand I cannot win with these days. However, my AA is stil very strong as I've won 23 of 26 since I began keeping track.

Fnord, as for how I'm playing 10-10, I will usually only limp-in with this hand unless I'm in position and then I will play a moderate raise. Haven't gotten many 10-10s since my last post.

I know this will all come crashing down on me sooner or later. Just yesterday I had AA. Had one caller after a pre-flop raise of $2. Flop came 8J4 all diamonds (I'm holding the A diamonds). I bet the pot and the lone caller caller called my bet. Turn card comes K spades. I again bet the pot. He re-raises me this time! Now I'm thinking he has a set. But I call hoping for an A or a diamond. The pot size definietly justified my call of his re-raise at that point. The river comes 10 diamonds! YES! I go all-in and he calls. He had pocket 8s. $40+ pot! One of the rare times that the river actually helped me instead of taking my money. I wondered if that was a sign that my good luck with those high pocket pairs was ready to start it's decline!?

I guess I just have to be glad for it and ride it out as long as it lasts.

I normally limp in with this hand, but on occassion I will raise it to $2 or $3 and hope to take down the pot or go heads up. I was actually dealt 10,10 on back 2 back hands earlier today. The 1st time I limped in and AJ3 hit on the flop, I folded to a $3 bet.

The very next hand I get 10,10 again and raise it this time to $2. I have 1 caller and the flop comes 10,6,5 or something similar. The guy chases down to the river and folds and I take a $40+ pot.
