Just could'nt let go

Been a few weeks since I played...played last night on PP...$25 NLHE. I have pocker AA middle position...Major screw up--when typing in bet amount was going for pot size I hit check button! only one player stayed...he checked and saw free flop J 5 5. I bet 1/2 pot...opponent called....turn card off card, I bet pot size, opponent raised and I went all in call and raise.....and didn't catch my A....yep He held JJ, kicked my ass there. looking back should have folded since started off with screw up? Any in put?

Tough beat, gacowboy. Honestly, I don't think you could've done much to win that hand or get out of that hand cheaply. I think you only had two choices that could have altered things:

One would have been to go all-in preflop, but the Player with JJ may have called and beat you anyway. Plus, I rarely make a play like that with AA because I try to get more action than that. So, that's one course of action.

The other would have been to fold to the re-raise on the pot-sized bet at the turn. He could have been holding a 5 to make trips (he limped in pre-flop), but laying down the AA in this spot is also a tough decision (and maybe not the right one!).

Overall, I don't think there's much you could have done. I don't think a pre-flop raise would have changed anything. Sometimes, you just lose to inferior hands, and that's all part of the game. Better luck next time!
