Meh, why not just ask them why they created them for 2p2 but will not for us? Did they pay Stars to set this up or something? The special 1 cent HU sit n gos are still in the Private tournament lobby...
  2. #77
I'll respond to their email and see what I can find out

Oh yeah, nothing like signing up for a $10 sng and having someone else get in with you other than your tourney partner...
Just dipping my toes back in.

Yea, I guess this could work, the stacks would be very shallow thoough

    Hello,

The Special Heads-Up matches we did for 2+2 caused various problems and we
are no longer offering them to 2+2 or anyone else.

As for using our normal SNGs with no blind escalation, the idea behind
that is to avoid customized programming and use something readily
available to all customers, so unfortunately we can't do 5/10 blinds.

This shouldn't be an issue, as 1500 starting chips and 15/30 blinds that
never increase provides a great deal of 'play.' As for price, if
$10.50+$0.50 is too much, then we can go as low as $5.25+$0.25.

We have now set up the $5.25 version for you, so please let me know if you
would like to go ahead with this.

    Kind Regards,

It's not like we have a choice ISF.

At least it's best of 3. We could do best of 5 i guess but not sure its worth it.

since this will be super high variance, i d suggest best of 5

obv it ll still be ridic random/swingy but it ll be fun
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?

I don't think everyone is going to want to pay $5 for each match for each round, are we planning on the winners transferring back the funds?

FWIW, I've played this structure with a few members of this forum the last few nights and there is a little play involved, but certainly not as much as there would be 100bb deep. I mean, I feel the better player will win in the long run if we do best of 5.
  15. #90
ok, so best of 5 then?

can u make a schedule for the games to see when we will be finished, approx.??

Just want to make sure I can play since I leave oct 22...

lol well at least they added the $5.25's for us. the max the winner will pay in rake is $6.25 if all matches go to 5 games. i think people should def refund money, especially since we're going to send like $20 to someone right? i mean we can trust everyone here. main problems are obviously setting a schedule (which i guess would have to be determined by the people who play) and registering for the games so you don't get a random opponent.

i know they prolly won't be able to do anything but maybe bring up the registering problem if we are planning on hosting a best 5 tournament.

Count me the hell out if it's 50 BB. I still say we make the matches be freeze-outs at 0.01/0.02 NL and then chip-dump to the winner of a pot whenever the pot gets raked (which is only if it's more than a dollar). It'd be real annoying but at least we'd be able to play poker.

What are these freezeouts? How do they work?

Maybe I'm way off, but i don't see what the problem is with 1500 chips and 15/30 levels. Ya, it's only 50BB, but that's still enough for a bit of a tussle, especially with static blinds. And all you that play 100NL+, surely this is just about a little bit of fun for you guys? Shallowish stacks might not prove who the bestest pokahhero is, but since the buyin and prizemoney is such a miniscule amount compared to your rolls, count as a bit of FTR related shenanigans?

As far as the fees and whatnot goes, even if you don't have the winners from each round ship back the BI, and keep it at best of 5, the most any of us could be down is $35.75.

    thx for your efforts man

no worries, sucking out for 50bb s will be just as fun
when the vpip's are high and the value bets are like razors, who can be safe?
  23. #98
    OK, random thought.

We could organise it so that we get some 6max 2NL tables, and fill them with FTRers. Then flip/chipdump until we're deep enough, get four of the players to sit out and gogogo.

If it was arranged so that 3 matches went on at the same time and everyone 3tabled, sitting out on 2 of their tables, it would be perfect.

Only problem is I don't know how strict Stars are about chipdumping etc. but as some of the players are going to be high stakes ballers I doubt they'll care about a little bit of flipping at 2NL.

well if we want to get this on we'll have to start soon, I leave for a week for Vegas next Tuesday. I have a feeling a lot of ppl will drop if it's only 50bb deep.
  25. #100

yo thats a great idea, and u can buy in for $4 anyway at 2nl so no need to flip.

3 matches at once...how about we do this??

I'd be down if we could figure it out, it would take a lot of cooperation from everyone, I'll be out of commission from Wed-sun.

play money only has full ring tables, so we would need 7 people to sit out... hmm.

sigh. fuck us, let's just force Xianti to make a Gauntlet a HU tourney.

    New thread: http://www.flopturnriver.com/phpBB2/...oker-61304.htm

    This is going to work.
  38. #113
I think I've said this plenty of times, the HU games are lik 25bb deep, we wanted a deeper format.

I think we'll lose a lot of ppl if we just do the HU sng's at PS.
