    Default Dwan v Blom $200k HU - 9th Dec 3pm ET

    Press Release

FullTiltPoker.com announces Dwan vs Blom rematch

Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom to play for $200,000 from 15:00 ET on Sunday, December 9th

DUBLIN – December 5, 2012 - FullTiltPoker.com today announced details of a long-awaited rematch between Tom “durrrr” Dwan and Viktor “Isildur1” Blom on the heads-up high-stakes tables. The two poker superstars first clashed across the virtual felt in November 2009, with the then-anonymous “Isildur1” emerging victorious and more than $5 million to the good.

Both players, founding members of The Professionals at Full Tilt Poker, have waited more than three years for the opportunity to compete again, with Dwan eager to win back his title of ‘world’s greatest heads-up ring game player’.

The rematch will take place on Sunday, December 9th from 15:00 ET, with each player investing $100,000 of their own money and vowing to play until one has captured the entire $200,000. The match format will consist of four Heads-Up No Limit Hold’em tables, which will be played simultaneously.

All of the action can be followed on FullTiltPoker.com’s innovative game software; once the software is downloaded and an account has been created, players can search for either “durrrr” or “Isildur1” and open the tables upon which they are competing.

I'm really looking forward to it. Will be playing my own session alongside (and the Gauntlet, as long as I'm not out within 30 minutes!) but will try and post some of the biggest hands. There's always action when these two play!

The stakes were doubled before the game started to $200k each, so $400k total

Pretty close so far but Isildur1 is definitely in the lead. Dwan raised/flatted the 3bet here, raised the flop c-bet then shoved turn:

Dwan showed J9 for the gutshot while Blom had AK and won the hand after a river brick.

Isildur is sitting with $80k, $35k, $113k and $20k and durrr with $17k, $25k $50k and $22k. Pretty sure durrr is running low on that $200k as they've just had to leave a table where they had both had ~$50k and move to a different one.

Dwan 3bet shoves KQ on J96 after 3betting pre, Isildur holds with AJ and Dwan can only rebuy for $1.4k which he busts next hand AJ < 98s

They've now left the table Dwan had $49k on (v $34k) and resat at a single new table. Durrr only has $10k already v Blom's $32k

Break time for dwan. Reloading maybe?
  12. #12
Dwan getting absolutely destroyed. Only has $30k left from starting $200k, playing on 2 tables

Dwan busts another table with A9 < AA on 943cc. Now has $21k left on one last table. Epic spin up time or too tilted to care?
  14. #14
And Dwan busts with TT < A3s for his last 3.5k, ouch.

    Yet another win to Blom

More like too low stakes to care. Jesus, Dwan's living in Macau these days? He's probably absolutely shitting money by now.

Friend of mine is in Macau atm for his job. He described the place as 'one enormous brothel where can you can take as many hookers to your hotel room for the night as you want for €50 a pop". I wanna go there too, but for poker reasons ofcourse.

...I can't imagine there was too much pre-flop limping in this match. Just about any two cards are in both players' 3-betting range lol

Totally missed this all going on. Have to say I am surprised that Blom was able to dominate Durr in pretty much all the tables. He is great to watch but I would have stuck my money on Durr to take this one down.

Yeah same. I feel like Dwan is the better player as well, but there is a ton of variance in heads up play
