Bad river bet? 50nl

Guy's stealing like crazy. My question is the river. Did I make a bet that only better hands can call?

I like the 3bet pre. IMO it's good to throw these hands in our 3bet range against aggro button stealers. This hand plays a ton easier if you cbet a good size on the flop. A good chunk of his pre-flop calling range is going to be able float you here and occasionally he might even raise. Doing this allows you to essentially get it in on the turn which is what you want.

As played I like the river bet. It's just small enough to allow him to talk himself into a call with worse and it protects you from having to check call a bigger bet from him.

imo 3bet larger pre, and always cbet this flop. (you'd fire if you had air right)

river is meh, you cant stand a shove here which sucks, i might check the river or bet really really small - at least that can induce some bluffs and get called by set/two pair type hands

God this hand is played so badly. How do you check the flop ??? What are you planning on doing when he checks back and the turn is a spade? Why are you betting so small on the turn now? This hand doesn't make sense on any street.--Maybe preflop was okay. Bet flop bet turn shove non spade rivers ...

FPS? Robb, if someone is stealing like crazy what's the difference between 3betting 98s 72o? And hell yea bet this flop. You can rep QQ+ and missed AK and that's a good thing. Lastly, if he's calling $4.50 he's calling $6.50. Betting the flop and turn would be far better than betting the turn and river if you can see why?

I agree with Marshall that not betting this flop and then turn sizing are both pretty bad.

As played, you didn't give us any stats on villain (aggression, AF etc). I'd imagine that vs a guy "stealing like crazy"... bluff catching river is prob better.

He probably doesn't see flop with many unsuited hands, and the only offsuit hands with spades he'll have will have higher spades than yours.

It's not like he has 67ss here.

He's folding this flop with his range like 1% of the time. That makes it a mandatory bet. Just bet this flop next time ok ?

we are out of position and 3betting with 98s will give us decent equity when it comes to barreling when called. 3betting trashy hands in position could be okay if villain is folding enough to make a pure bluff profitable and isn't adjusting but we would definitely want some postflop value being out of position especially since we 3bet small.

also Robb, I would 3bet to like $5 or $5.50, and definitely bet flop+bet turn to set up a river jam because we just flopped huge and there's plenty of hands in his range that we can get value from that will slow down when a 4th spade comes.

Yea that was my point. Robb said he was stealing like crazy and depending on if he's folding to raises or calling I would rather three bet 72o and call with 98s. If he's calling a lot I would rather have Axs, Kxs or KQo, something with some high card strength. I would love to have more reads than he's stealing alot because that really changes my 3betting range
