Aces, I shall expect you to change your goal from 30k in the year, you can do a LOT better than that.

I think you can rack up 150k quite easily before the year is out, chase the dream man, set your goals high!

I would not recomend playing AA routinely like this but when you think that you are gonna have to "trap" him to get him to put in all his chips then you can do something like this every once in a while so that you dont become too predictable.

It is a bad call without an accurate read.

The 8 hits about any draw that the guy might be betting with on the flop.

And the flop play does heavily suggest a draw.

I had already taken a G from this guy and he was playing like he was out to get me. I called it knowing very well it could be a bluff as he was growing tired of my standard 50 dolllar raise every time around the table.

a draw is a draw period. I definiately respect Fnords opinion but hes on a draw.

so you know I would have called...

Fnord: what is the reason for folding this hand?

I guess afraid of the spade flush?

Corey, you can't seriously tell me you knew WHICH draw the guy was on.

There's the broadway straight draw with QT AND the flush draw. The board + flop action just too heavily suggests that you got outdrawn on the turn to call off a grand with the over pair without a strong read. (which aces had)

That is the reason for folding the hand, you just can't put him on a bluff as easily as you can put him on QT or two spades.

That's a good bet by the other guy. You can't call there becuase you don't beat... anything. A raise would work well becuase of the threatening board but you'd get yourself pretty deep in a pot that you can only hope to not be drawing dead in.

    why is that?

Only one card could of beaten his flush. If you pushed do you really think he would of folded?

I would like to take this moment to thank eveyone who has contributed to the pontless rambling of this thread. I am very proud of what this thread stands for...the abiltiy of one person to make a difference in this world by just rambling on and on about nothing. HAHA! Billy Madison! Nice. I love that entire speech. Hysterical!

Principal: Mr. Madison, what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Pot limit. The guy didn't reraise the river on the chance that ilikeaces has the Qc. Would have likely done so if both his hole cards were being used.

Easy. Look at the preflop action.

AK don't do that unless the opp is super aggro preflop.

Well I was mad yet kinda happy I got all 4k of it all in preflop on a nl1k when I had AA vs his KK. When I saw the K hit on the river I just knew and got this aweful feeling in my stomache.

KK will be good there frequently enough to make it a profitable call.

Though, I can't speak for those stakes. Opponents push with very silly holdings in 6max.

I made a big mistake not pushing the flop but I put him on AA or KK so I thought I wanted a call. Turns out big mistake.
ugh i played on PP last night and ran into an "Extratopping" on the NL25 tables... i gotta check my hand histories now to see what happened while you were at that table.

I'm sure it was the same guy and I'm sure he absolutely PWNED your table for the time that he was there.

He stopped by at my table for about ten minutes one time. Played like an absolute maniac and turned his $25 into $60 like it was nothing. By the time he left the entire table was on tilt and it was easy pickings for me.

i only played maybe 1 or 2 tables last night for the entire time, and i dont remember getting owned.. maybe i stayed out of his way by not getting any playable cards .. i'll have to read the hand histories.. in fact i think i was heckling him.

Easy. Look at the preflop action.

AK don't do that unless the opp is super aggro preflop.
So do you sometimes re-raise with AK to mix up your play? About how often do you do this?

    Whenever I think it'll work.

    It happens often enough.

I hopped on NL25 for a while because I was looking for some FTR'ers but after a little bit of loligaging me and Fnord hopped on a table together that was pretty much non eventful.

ya i looked back at the hand history .. looked like we were trading sarcastic remarks back and fourth and being condencending.. cards were cold i left after only winning a small pot.
