Default 50nl sick start, then awful few days.

Sup guys, Had a sick start to the month +700 or so at 25nl and 50nl (made 15bi at 25nl in 5k hands!). Then I ran good at 50nl making about 7bi in 6k at 50nl felt like I was playing great.

Then the inevitable happened and busted my confidence over the past 3 days (dropped about 350). Some tilt I have to admit but then stepped down too. Im posting these hands just for some tips and to see if i went tragically wrong anywhere.

Theres alot of hands so dont feel obliged to reply to them all!

    Thanks guys

    Hand 1)

Villain here was 28/24 aggro reg, 3b of 10% and a 4b of 11%, really aggro postflop and a squeeze of 16%. my only worry here is the table positioning and i dont see him 4betting with worse? I think its a fold.

    Hand 2)

No hands on this guy, the turn confused me. I put his range on draws on the turn but I think given that, I have to just shove to fold out his lower pairs and such. And given my line I think a call is super standard?

    Hand 4)

This one, the only changes I would have made would be to check raise the flop, I think I check raise here with a bunch of draws too, some Kings, and two pairs. So its a standard raise.

Given that, when he comes over the top on the turn, alarm bells ring for me. But again, I cant fold....

    Hand 5)

Guy was opening 24/21 fairly aggro reg, I like my 3bet here. With my blocker lots of barreling equity post-flop and flops pretty well (Im obviously never going crazy with Top Pair here). Anyways, My turn bet should have been 6.50 or a bit higher, once its checked to me twice.

When he flats, I basically I think he never has a jack or a flush, a queen possibly. Unless hes totally owned and slow played the crap out of me. I decide to fire big on the river because I think he folds everything but a flush or a jack....

    Hand 6)

I flat here cause this guy was raising 30/27, obviously way ahead of his range and I think the hand plays okay postflop. I can't really squeeze vs the UTG raiser. Is this a preflop fold?

Anyway, once the flop comes gin gin, I decide to raise and get it in early vs draws + AK and AA e.t.c.

32/27 aggro reg again. REALLY STRANGE river bet. I was sat telling myself, what the hell does he have here? Can I really flat instead of shoving for value? NOPE, So I have to ship.... right? His river bet looks like a blocker.

Oh and this vs a nitty reg. Was tilted here, after he 3bets the flop, its a fold right?

You should post these hands in separate threads if you want to get decent feedback man, otherwise there's just going to be way too much discussion overlapping and people getting confused what hands you're talking about etc
  4. #4
Yeah lots of hands to discuss, but I'll chime in regardless...

Hand 1... I'm folding to 4bet, this guy is utg, and you show huge strength 3betting him in the first place, so he's got something here. QQ+ AK is the weakest range I give him.

Hand 2... we have 15 outs from 46 cards... shove is pot sized so we're getting pretty much exactly the right price to call and break even... except rake fucks us, so it's a fold, esp since villain can have AKcc + ATcc. I don't much like the flop 3bet, prefer to just peel, but meh I dunno if this 3bet is ok or not.

    Hand 3... standard

Hand 4... raise flop, otherwise, standard.

Hand 5... I have no idea what you're doing. Turn bet polarises your range, you have air or flush, then river pairs and you jam? wft are you repping? I wouldn't fold a queen vs hero after he takes this line. Looks like pure spew to me.

Hand 6... I fold pre, but flop is standard imo.

Hand 7... looks standard to me.

Hand 8... yeah I think I puke fold this flop to 3bet vs nitty reg unless I know he stacks AA and AK.

Spamming the forum with 8 new threads isn't very nice either. I think it's much better this way tbh. If some hand feels like a particularly tough situation, then it's def better to make a new thread though.

    1. The question you need to be asking yourself here is: how does villain perceive my aggression?

    2. Try to play this hand the exact same way you would play your very strong hands and you'll be fine.

    3. You need to build a confidence for recognizing standard situations so that you don't think you might have made something wrong when you clearly didn't.

    4. Lead or c/r flop. Since you did c/c I think leading the turn is your best play. Your line isn't completely unreasonable if you want to have a c/c flop, c/r blank turn range, which isn't necessary to have on this board at all (I don't).

    5. You need to think more about the hands that you are actually representing. For instance don't bet only 4 on the turn with JJ if you even have JJ in your range. Looks like you're repping quads more than anything else and that doesn't usually get too many folds. He probably folds AK with a diamond though.

    6. Preflop depends on many more factors than the ones you listed, such as where are the weak players seated?

    7. Bet flop half pot. Standard otherwise.

    8. fold to 3bet.

A lot of these hands are very standard. ie: the ones with QQ, and stacking off with sets. I'm assuming you lost some of these, which is just unlucky.

Hand 2 - on the turn you're the aggressor. If you're going to c/c, you're way better off shoving yourself. At least if you shove you can get a fold from better sometimes.

Hand 5 - I wouldn't fire a river barrel here. Someone might be slow playing a straight on the turn because the flush is out. Someone could even be c/c turn with two pairs/sets cause of board, and now have boats.

    1- fine
2- shove turn yourself, he might make a mistake and fold better. I could see c/c with something like AcTc since he can have lower FDs and you block a 10. But for balance just shove, you wouldn't check if you had a set would you now?
3- fold pre, post is fine
    4- c/r flop
5- bet at least half pot on the turn. This river is actually bad for you, i'd give up. If I bet 8$ and river is 2c, I'd fire again.
    6- std ofc
7- it's fine, but you seem to raise turns a lot with your strong hands. Overall you're just not playing very balanced i think, and while it's fine at these limits, you have to think more about what you rep and how to balance your ranges better
    8- fold to the 3bet
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

i don´t like the way you play the 2 and 5hand. The others are standart i guess

    Thanks for the input everyone!

One thing that stood out was 7 -> I raise turns a lot with strong hands but Im not balancing my range enough. Are you saying I should be bluffing more OTT given my perceived range?

Took a short break now I am back. Think ill buy Verneers new book. Fed up of being stuck swinging up and down at the micros.
