Default 50/1 Awkward Spot with Jacks

$50/$100 Ante $25 No Limit Holdem
    6 Players

Zyph is a fish, down a bunch according to PTR. It's been a few orbits and haven't seen him do anything real wild yet. HUD shows him as running 40/20ish with a 5% 3b
Halo is a good reg who I haven't played much with so I don't know too much about his game.

    Stacks:
    UTG Zyph ($21,986)
    UTG+1 Halo ($27,938)
    CO ($25,089)
    BTN ($11,447)
    SB Hero ($10,125)
    BB ($11,072)

    Pre-Flop: ($300, 6 players) Hero is SB
Zyph raises to $300, Halo calls $300,2 folds, Hero raises to $1,500,1 fold, Zyph calls $1,200, Halo calls $1,200

    Flop: ($4,750, 3 players)
Hero checks, Zyph checks, Halo checks

    Turn: ($4,750, 3 players)
    Hero?

Also what is your plan for rivers?

a little town called none of your goddamn business
probably just bet 1750. There are a lot of ways it can play out after that so I don't really have a plan. It will be easy if the fish calls, cause you can shove most rivers. If halo calls, I'm not really sure. I think betting like 1222 on the flop would probably have been best.

just bet the flop 1750 and make a decision if jammed on. the call/fold decision is near neutral ev imo when jammed on, but the only mistake you can make in this hand is not betting flop. as played bet/mostly call turn and jam river

Why is not betting the flop such a mistake? I'm curious, mostly because I think I check this flop with this particular hand quite a bit. Usually expect ppl to call a lot of Qx to 3bets (KQ/AQs)

Also, what is your cut off hand where you would start leaning more towards checking than betting on this board?

You loose from a lot of hands. You should had given up your hand.

Don't get married to Pockets Jacks.

They are a good hand but they won't hold up a lot if the game is really loose.

why not play check-call in turn, because you are playing out of position with two players. But maybe the best play is bet a half pot because there are some flush and straight draws in turn.

I'm really curious about this too, hope Sauce sees this and comments cause my default would be check but maybe it has to do with the fact its multiway with a fish?

I think he does it mostly for balance. But when you cbet 1/3 pot here you also get called by worse a fair bit, and yeah especially since there's a fish in the hand.

Also gives you more options for turn/river. Checking flop then trying to run a bluff on turn/river prob won't look too credible.
Nine to five is how to survive - I ain't trying to survive / I'm trying to live it to the limit and love it a lot //

Can offer RB deals on most sites, PM me.

Checking flop is good for me, the 1222 bet on the turn should help find where you are at. The river......tbd on what falls........
What MUST be, most surely SHALL be!!
