200nl 88 and AK postflop fun

Opp is 28/24 over 65 hands but I think he was tighter when this hand occured.

Im lost on the turn, theres a pretty good chance he has a Jack here but there are so many odds. Usually id check flop here but since theres a super shorty in the hand I dont mind getting it in vs him and also look fairly strong vs the other player.

Turn, honestly dont know whether its best to bet, c/c or c/f? so many rivers become impossible and my range becomes so so weak looking which could make me cry call a river.

Opp is a 38/19 fish but do note he opened UTG. I think a preflop call is a solid play vs him since I should have super implied odds of winning alot vs him postflop.

I opt to lead instead of c/r bcoz he utg range is fairly decent imo and I think he could become a station if I start donking a donk.

His turn raise has my slightly confused as I wasnt expecting he really. I dont see many value hands he could have here but also why raise a draw here now instead of on flop. Any thoughts?

Hand 1 I probably fold just because river will be very difficult to play but it really doesn't look like your beat atm

Hand 2 Idk but I'm gonna say fold because he has AA ldo. Also guess what happens when you 3b pre? You can stack off here happily. But I don't get your logic behind not c/r the flop. If I called preflop I would def go for a c/r because nobody will ever think I have AK.

EDIT: I guess he could be floating Axdd, QJdd makes some sense too

1) just dump it, easy. flop bet is fine. On turn his range is basically Jx straights and fd's. You beat fd's, but even they have like 30% equity vs you.

2) i think vs a donk you can probably just 3bet pre for a lot of value, folding to a 4bet. Calling is ok. I think its a pretty big mistake to not c/r flop as played, and once he raises the turn like this I think its a super tough spot, but I'd fold.

in H1 if i wanted to continue on the turn, my play would be to just bet again and continue bluffing by bombing most rivers. when you check it is a simple fold to a reasonable bet.

in H2 i would agree with what renton said

Hand 1: You put yourself into a shitty spot on the turn because this is the bottom of your value range on the flop. Turns an easy check/fold if you check but I'd honestly bet it and c/f the river. I think there's a lot of explanation into why bet turn is significantly better than c/c but ill simply say his calling range is wider than his betting range.

Hand 2: If he was a CO raiser id prob call down but because its UTG I think you have to fold.

what about c/r turn? it seems like Jx would bet fold a ton and otherwise he would have mostly draws. we block the nut straight.

say hand #1 we bet $34 and get called, river pot size is $118. whats our river bet - nutsinho mentioned bombing most rivers, which cards are we trying to avoid?

Hand 1 - I c/f 88. So ISF goes with b/f turn, c/f river line while i think renton thinks c/f turn is good.

I wouldnt hate a c/r turn line then shove river but what size raise would you look to make and leave for a river shove.


Hand 2 - Ok Im cool with 3bet/folding AKo here then. c/r'ing flop is probably best if you guys say so. Ive explained why I did it but I will take your advice.

Turn is sick, I think he leaves himself with like $98 behind. Usually Id say when a reg or nit takes this line then they have it since they are unlikely to take this line with a drawy hand but vs a this fish I just felt that wasnt the case. I shoved (I think its maybe better than just calling) thinking he can have alot of draw hands in his range which will call of another $98 anyway on turn instead of me calling turn raise.
