Default 2/4 - I love Axdd - are we value betting?

    Hand 1
-villain is very aggro, had been 3betting around 14 over the last couple days. I fold to most 3bets, so its probably influencing to 3bet me even more
-his AF is around 3.5ish, and he triple barrels me a lot in single raised pots
-turn I tanked, since I was hoping he would barrel me again with bluffs

    Stacks:
    CO ($430.30)
    Hero (BTN) ($699.90)
    SB ($743.60)
    BB ($1,447)

    Pre-Flop: ($6, 4 players) Hero is BTN
1 fold, Hero raises to $12, 1 fold, BB raises to $40, Hero calls $28

    Flop: ($82, 2 players)
    BB checks, Hero checks

    Turn: ($82, 2 players)
BB bets $45, Hero calls $45

    River: ($172, 2 players)
    BB checks, Hero ??

    Hand 2
-villain in this hand has been playing passive overall, but has seemingly been 3betting me a fair bit more than other ppl (since I fold so often).
-other than that, his 3bet is fairly low at around 5-6ish
-when I raise this flop and he calls oop, is it safe to assume ppl have mostly hands like 8x-KK type stuff?
-should I be shoving this river, since diamonds bricked out?

Yeah don't think you can jam river unimproved in hand 2 if you're gonna check the turn.

    Hand 1 I think I'd bet 90ish?

Why would he call us lighter on the turn than on the river in hand 2?

Our turn shoving range has our draws but also all our strong hands, whereas a turn check river shove line prob doesn't have as many strong hands in it. He can also perceive his line as looking weak if he calls flop, cks turn and cks riv, so he might be more likely to hero call?

If not, then it's a great bluff spot, but I think you get called by worse here.

Yah this is what I was thinking. If anyone gets to the river with like QJdd, or KQo or something, whos' actually bluffing?

I feel like people are rarely bluffing, cause they think they will get snapped off.

What do we expect villain to have. I'd imagine he'd shove AQ/AK at least on the flop.

I'd imagaine the vast majority of his hands are one pair bluffcatchers. He will very very rarely take this line with a hand that's better than AK, and he probably fires the river with hands that are too weak too be a bluffcatcher a fairly high % of the time. So he usually just a one pair hand, and the combo's of Ax are reduced with you having one.

Bet small and perhaps he jams 56dd/67dd or even better, KQdd. What exactly is he going to fold on the turn that he would pay you off with on the river? Just bet like $100 again imo.

hmm I guess I'm thinking more that on the flop ppl will often peel oop with TT-KK type hands, to re-eval.

We bet turn, and ppl can convince themselves of a fold given they are behind often and hands they are ahead of have reasonable equity.

We check turn, and bet river, they can convince themselves that they look weak and that our range is now much weaker after not betting turn.

It depends on what level ppl are on I suppose.

id bet both sometimes, but there isnt really any right answer here. in general id expect checking to be better though
