Default 2/4: garbage hand rivers a flush

Villain is a solid reg, SB is a passive whale.

    SB ($387)
    Hero ($459)
    UTG ($1,091)
    CO ($89.11)
    BTN ($422)

    Dealt to Hero Q 8
fold, fold, BTN raises to $10, SB calls $8, Hero calls $6

    FLOP ($30) 3 7 4
SB checks, Hero checks, BTN bets $22.50, SB folds, Hero raises to $72.50, BTN calls $50

    TURN ($175) 3 7 4 4
    Hero checks, BTN checks

    RIVER ($175) 3 7 4 4 2
    Best line for hero?

Without knowing much about your game or the dynamic in play, looks like a straight forward value bet to me. I also could see it being a really fun spot to over-bet shove.

Yeah I think you have to vbet, like 75 or something he feels like he has to call. Looks like he has 7x or an overpair that may not bet.

I'd pretty much automatically fold overpairs to any bet on this river against a reg. Don't really understand why I should even consider calling.

P4's what is the question? I would bet 75 and vs a uber passive prbly fold to a raise.

The question is: What hand, worse than Q8ss are we calling $75 on this river (as villain) that we aren't betting ourselves?

The passive whale folded on the flop if that wasn't clear.

If that is the question there are plenty of people that will call 88-AA at least a decent chunk of the time.

    Plenty of decent regs?

Isn't it a mandatory value-bet given how often you'll be bluffing this river?
Playing big pots at small stakes.

I would say yes, if people aren't calling hands that we beat then on this type of river we should be totally unbalanced to bluffs.

Yeah I would of course be very happy to be holding air on this river, but how?

A solid villain cbet pretty big into a whale and a very aggro reg on a draw heavy board. I really don't think a c/r with some speculative hand is going to show any profit with my image at least. I suppose Axhh and Kxhh with gutshots (5 combos) could be close, but even there I think I'm just burning money in this spot.

I would probably just bet around 4/5 pot for value, I think an overbet gets too many folds tbh
