I agree, with position I would push to $50 or $60 here.
I know a few that play $1/$2 because they have a much bigger advantage over the players at the $2/$5 game where I play. That being said, most of the $1/$2 players stare at the Bad Beat sign more...
I play $2/$5 NL live and usually take 2 BIs with me to the casino ($1,000). I have not had to use the ATM for a 3rd buy in in over a year. Its been a good run.
I have seen people lose 5-6 buy...
Yep. typing exactly what they have (or even rounding to $44 or whatever) begs for a call and thus would get less of them.
I think I shove here as well.
I think I check the flop here too. C/R turn and shove river.
Can't decide if I would defend my blind there against the steal or not. I probably do to a 15/9 if I've played a significant amount...
Agreed. I think I shove that every time in a free roll.
I think the redraw on both hands makes it easier to be aggressive on the turn. Not sure I call pre-flop from the SB blind in the 1st hand though without much info on the villains (maybe that's just...
Posting before the blinds get to you in live poker depends on the casino (and the location). For example the Harrah's in Kansas CIty doesn't make you post, but the one in St Louis does. Just...
Getting smooth calls on the flop and turn sometimes indicates sets to me unless the board has a flush draw or straight draw on the flop on they don't want to take the chance of you hitting that.
I think I'm checking behind as well.
This is a good example of a hand where in the past I would shove and lose to a set or an over pair.
I agree about the draws in his range. Curious to see what others think here.
I think I would agree with bigspenda and check the flop here and that normally wouldn't get 2 folds here against tards.
Now that I said that, I have many times played that just like you did.
Not that I know much, but looks like the push is definitely trying to get rid of you.
Maybe your perception is skewed because you are only seeing the push bluffs and value monsters??
Haven't read any of Harrington's books. What is his 80/20 rule?
Tough to do anything other than check the turn given how narrow his range is. I agree calling a reasonable bet, too.
I would call here as well. Not sure about 99+ though.
I've had a lot of the Hand 2 situations lately and I don't think I've played them all that well as a whole. More than once i paid off a K on the river after they call my flop bet and we both check...
I guess I'm confused why you didn't 3bet pre flop? Did I miss something?
I like that advice. I've been reading these forums for a long time and too often all the posts assume that we should all know all the answers. I think I probably raise most of those hands, but...
