Shoving the best way to go here.
Pot the turn
I would go with Full Tilt Poker
A great book with excellent examples is Sklansky's No Limit Theory and Practice -- it helped me when I was starting out.
I can't find the hand to post but it's been bugging me all day, so here was the situation. Cash full ring game $2/4, deep stacks.
I get KcKs UTG, raise 4x, UTG+1 (65/15, only about 30 hands on...
Welcome
great post/thread.
thanks for the info on slow play. I will try tonight.
thanks for the link.
mine is between 2-4
add some more tables and keep learning.
congrats to all that are up.
I am up $500; finally out of my slump.
FriskyPirata quote: meh.. I disagree. Obviously playing a large volume of hands won't hurt, but if you are making mistakes the majority of the time, then you won't improve. To have a perfect...
This thread is a great idea. I believe the most common mistake made is betting the wrong amount at the wrong time. I see too many people min-raise with their good hands to not scare away people,...
I'd call.
Do you ever raise the flop?
I just took the testyourpoker.com iq test and got 110. It's Ron Rose's site, haven't seen anything on here about it before. I didn't know what to do on a number of the hands, they were tough. Got...
Thanks guys, this perspective helps. I play with donks (like myself).
If you get rr pf and UTG calls do you call also? What if there is a normal sized rr and UTG folds? Sorry for the non-situational questions, I just struggle with "standard" plays on low pairs.
Not a specific hand, more of general situation. $1/2 typical full ring game.
Unknown player raises from UTG, I have :5s: :5d: or the like in UTG+1.
In a typical game, can I call this and go...
1. call, it's at least a 50/50 imo. I don't mind gambles
2. This is such a powerful hand, you're a favorite to most of his range. I like a push here. If you don't push here, you absolutely have...
AA, KK are far superior.
I play them very differently. With either hand, I almost always raise. AA/KK (or any big pair) plays much better against fewer opponents. I rarely get all my money in...
I don't play much on FT anymore, but there's was very easy to clear.
At one time about 1 1/2 ago, I was clearing bonuses on 5 or 6 sites, it was great. Definitely look around, you can get good...
I'm signing off on this flop. I think we're behind most hands villain plays like this.
The biggest mistake is #3 imo. You are almost certainly way ahead on the flop, no reason not to raise. Calling gives him the ammo to push you out of the way again.
