Apparently some of the people at the shooting in California had also been at the one in L.V.
So now it's come to the point where being present at a mass shooting is no longer a once-in-a-lifetime event.
Gotta love the way Trump checked himself before finishing that sentence about being hit in the face with a rock being the same as being shot in the face.
You've got to be fucking joking me...oh wait, it's Trump - what did I expect?
https://news.sky.com/story/trump-joi...tions-11549901
I don't like almost anything about Kathy Griffin, but I like the way she addresses Trump. For every other Trump Tweet, there's a KG tweet simply saying: "Fuck yourself, you criminal piece of shit" She varies it up but that's the gist of it. At this point, why not just go down to his level? Why ask questions respectfully? Just address him as a "very low IQ individual" call him a loser, tell him that his answers are dumb. How could he defend himself? That is exactly how he conducts himself, just throw it back at him.
I am very confused how people can stand behind him. Let's hope Wuf gets his hormones in order after his meme diet so he can explain. Trump is so vile. He's that piece of shit that insults clerks and waiters because they can't talk back without losing their job and it makes them feel big. And you want that kind of a personality in the white house? Forget about the blatant corruption, the nepotism, the pay to play, obstruction of justice and the swamp he surrounds himself with. Clear all that and he's still more than unfit to be president.
Even if you ignored him routinely acting like a giant twat, it's still hard to see how anyone can still support him. His biggest accomplishments so far are exploding the deficit, starting a trade war with the entire world, and pissing on America's allies.
They're going to need some state-sactioned massive re-programming centres in the US after he's gone just to get rid of all the brainwashing it took to get him a 40% approval rating.
If you're talking about voters, there's a conversation to be had here. If you're talking about people like me, ie foreign observers, well then the answer is democracy. Had Clinton won, I would've feared for the future, but if we were here today, and she still had the support of the people who voted for her, which represents a democratic majority, then I would "support" her in the sense I would recognise she is fit to be President and generally avoid insulting people simply for actively supporting her.Quote:
Even if you ignored him routinely acting like a giant twat, it's still hard to see how anyone can still support him.
Why do voters support him? idk, would I if I could vote for him? I certainly would have done at the last election, because of who he was up against. I imagine he still has core support because the alternative is perceived as worse. Trump supporters would prefer to see an idiot in charge than a liberal. That's a political choice that should be respected, but we no longer respect each others' right to have different political opinions. This is the new millenium, the age of "I'm right, you're wrong, I'm a good person, you're a disgusting person".

So why is Melania deciding to fire people? I thought Trump was the Alpha Chimp and wore the pants?
Sounds like he got cucked.
Where are our maga's?
Never there for you when you need a retarded opinion.
Like rats off a sinking ship.
Well banana got banned and wuf still lurks now and then.
Why? Did Trump admit to being Hitler?
Well he did say that the anti-fascists are the biggest threat to america. Which is not true for most people. It is kinda true for one group of people tho.
But no, not Hitler yet. I was more referring to the 5000+ soldiers currently kicking rocks at the border. Pay $10m to subsidize public transport *instantly empties bowels* - Pay $200m for unnecessary military deployment *crickets*
Twitter bans people for inciting violence *muh 1st amendment!* - white house bans reporters for asking questions and every media outlet including FOX news suing them over it *1st amendment is a liar sometimes*
Says a lot about his character that Trump gets spanked in the midterms and now is refusing to fulfill his most basic duties as president, like attending war memorials. What a fucking child.
Worst. President. Ever.
AAAAaaahahahahahaha!

5000 troops to stop <100 migrants in the first "wave" lol.
Can't remember where I heard it, but some of those troops are stationed in Phoenix, AZ, which is 585 km from the border. That's the second line of defense I guess.
Why they're even this vigilant in wanting to turn them away... They walked 1000+ miles to get into the US. I wouldn't want to move to the US if I was carried to and from the airport. These people obviously have wildly unrealistic expectations. You hand them a shovel or an apron and you capitalize on all that misplaced hope!
Haven't you heard? They're bringing smallpox. And leprosy. Probably the Black Plague too, who knows. Don't forget too some terrorists from the Middle East are among them; they snuck in on the Guatemala border and are walking 1000 miles to make it look like they're refugees, the sneaky bastards.
I've heard about the leprosy!

I tell you what, it's quite amusing that two foreigners are mocking Trump's efforts to protect the American border. I mean, it's easy for you to sit there and say "let them in" when it's not your back yard. How about you open your doors to refugees? You guys must have a spare bedroom?

Disease is a risk, of course. But that risk comes from legitimate tourists as well as illegal immigrants. Of course, open borders that people can simply walk across increases that risk, but disease is not the major concern of people who wish to see borders enforced. It's economics and security.
People who actually buy that shit are idiots, just as people who blindly accept whatever CNN say are also idiots.
I'm an American. I say let them in. Due process... expedite the system to accommodate the influx, and find them jobs and homes. It's free money walking in the door.
St Louis (my home) has a large Bosnian community that came en masse as refugees. We're all good, here.
It's embarrassing to hear that guy say, "Mexico has provided integration programs, housing and jobs for this wave of migrants." With his point being, "so they have no reason to come here." Embarrassed as hell to hear my country point to our neighbor as showing humanity and hospitality while we send guns to the border.
Yup. I don't think they're even trying to make this an economic argument because that would fall flat on its face. That's why they're pregnant democrat rapists with leprosy.

Twitter must be biased, because practically every reply to his tweet is someone calling him a fucking idiot and telling him to stfu.
I like this one.
Attachment 1086
Twitter is biased. Where have you been hiding?
I'm pretty sure twitter picks replies to show me based on my subscriptions... I guess. If Trump sees what I see, that's gotta be rough.
I don't know how twitter works, but I seriously doubt it gives a shit what I think. Maybe it does, but if so it shouldn't keep letting me choose who I do and don't follow, and showing me replies to Trump that I agree with 100%.
Do an experiment to see how biased Twitter is.
Create two accounts.
On one, tweet "I'm white and hate black people."
On the other, tweet "I'm black and hate white people."
Post results.
Yeah sure... The most oppressed group.
This girl got lifetime banned for this: https://livestreamfails.com/post/31783
Reason: harassment and racism. You get a 30 day suspension for an n-word slip. White devil tho... that's some real shit.
Here's the thread: https://www.reddit.com/r/LivestreamF..._was_recently/
If anything, platforms are taking this bullshit counter argument way too seriously. Who the fuck gets offended as a white person over a racist slur for white people? You know why I don't give a shit about honky or white devil: because I'm never getting discriminated because of my race. Neither historically nor now. I don't give a fuck about racism because it has never affected me in my life, and any white person in the US or the EU who says it does has no fucking idea what racism is. That's why you should be able to say honky, but if you get banned for saying nigger, that's fine with me. "but black people get to say it" - fuck off. This is basically dog-whistling. It sounds like a genuine argument to politically correct tards like: oh yeah, sure white people get harassed sometimes... nobody should say bad words! But if you're a racist you're like: nudge nudge wink wink, I get it!
If I identify as black, does that make me oppressed?Quote:
Yeah sure... The most oppressed group.
Amusing. If you're supporting the idea that it's ok for black people to racially insult white people, but it's not ok for white people to racially insult black people, then you are discriminating against white people.Quote:
You know why I don't give a shit about honky or white devil: because I'm never getting discriminated because of my race.
oskar, do you realise that you support the oppression of white people now because we haven't been oppressed yet... like it's our turn?
You can't say "black people can do this, but white people can't", and then pretend to be in favour of equality.
You also seem to support the concept that people are oppressed at birth, that it is skin colour and not life experience that determines if one is oppressed or not, which to me feels more racist than saying we're all equal and should abide by the same rules.
That's not twitter telling me what to think, that's twitter assuming I think certain things based on what I say or who I follow or w/e and then putting me in an echo chamber.
So when Trump posts something idiotic about the caravan, do you look on twitter and see a bunch of people saying 'Yeah, why let in baby rapists with leprosy?' in the replies?
And if you do, do you assume that's because twitter wants you to be a retard, or because it assumes you already are one?
@Oscar / ong:
Both sides have merit.
The legacy of slavery, and actual institutional racism are still present in our culture.
It's getting better, IMO. It's just going to take more time and a continued effort to keep public policies unbiased for the cultural memory of the oppression of black people to go away.
And let's be clear that the historical oppression of black people in American culture is no joke, and not that far in our past, yet.
Actual slavery ended a long time ago, but there are still plenty of legacy problems associated with it. The widespread segregation of white and black neighborhoods is on that list. It is easy to find evidence that banks were giving loans to white people, but not black people for all kinds of circumstantial reasons, which were absolutely not coincidental. This amplified the economic disparity in white and black communities, and fed a rhetoric that black people are less civilized than whites.
The legacy of these policies are still readily obvious in St Louis, and I'm sure in other places as well.
Bottom line is that ong's right, but the "it's white people's turn to be oppressed" has nothing to do with it. It's more a story about, "Historically, people who look like you got fucked over by people who look like me. That has trickled down to a disparity in the quality of life between us that has nothing to do with our choices or the current goals of our culture, but still... you're getting screwed over in lots of little ways by policies that no one today wants or would choose, and the inertia of it all has put us all here."
It'd be great if we could magically erase the legacy of bad and hurtful policies that have been costing us economically for ever. That's just more than human psychology can handle, though. So long as black children today can obviously see the disparity in their opportunities compared to white children's opportunities, there's going to be this under-current of white resentment. Being a white person whom claims to be blind to the reason for the situation isn't probably helping anyone feel like this is something that we're moving past as a culture.
Twitter does show you content it thinks you would prefer, there is literally an option for this. It isn't a conspiracy.
I'm not talking about what content twitter shows you, I'm talking about how they moderate "hate speech".
Call Hillary a slut and you'll probably get a temp ban. Wish death on Trump, you'll be fine.
I'm not blind to the reasons, I just think it's ridiculous to blame white people for the historical oppression of black people, and for the lingering institutional racism that still exists. The blame lies with those in power, not those they rule.Quote:

For black people? I feel equality. Empathy is a weakness. Emotion clouds judgement.Quote:
You should not feel guilt, you should feel empathy.
I mean, what am I empathising with? The idea that being black automatically means you're oppressed? That historical oppression relates to you purely because of your race?
No. I was responding to you suggesting that other ethnicities get a free pass to use slurs for whities and that twitter unfairly regulates that. You're probably right about twitter since there's that indian chick looking that got flack for some pretty racist shit but kept her account while they're banning right wing extremists. In that particular case I think she should have been banned because that was some retarded crap.
But it's not true for all platforms. Some go to ridiculous lengths to seem racially unbiased. The malaysian girl getting her main income stream erased for jokingly calling someone "white devil" is ridiculous. I hope we can agree on that.
As a white caucasian european it is my superpower that I cannot be oppressed. Super simple analogy: You got 9 people of ethnicity A in a room, and 1 of ethnicity B. If they both have equal rights to insult, harass or discriminate each other, who's worse of?
That's why you need to protect minorities more than the majority to have equality.
Solution - allow the one dude to say what he likes, while telling the other 9 to stfu and take it like a bitch.
That's a generic term for white people and I find it somewhat offensive. I'm not evil just because I'm white. It's a racist term.Quote:

Though as racism goes, it's about as mild as it gets, especially if it was in jest. I don't think she should be banned for saying it, and yeah I'd even go as far as to use the word "ridiculous". But let's not pretend it's ok just because whites are the ones being insulted. If someone "jokingly" drops the n-bomb, there's still outrage.
You receive privileged status in your culture because you are white. Whether or not you asked for it or not is beside the point. You have access to certain services and treatment that other people do not have access to on the basis of their skin color.
No one here is saying they have a right to be racist.
We're saying that for you to pretend that you do not benefit from systems which do not benefit them is you being an ass.
We're saying that while you may not notice these social perks you have access to, they certainly notice they do not have that access.
We're saying that the the legacy of white people oppressing non-white people is still everywhere, and non-white people can't help but see it everywhere they go.
It's not OK for them to blame unnamed white people, but the reality is that the blame falls on unnamed white people, so that puts them in a shitty spot all over again.
They can call me a Honky or White Devil all day long and I don't mind, 'cause at the end of it all, I have access to bank loans that allow me to live in a house I haven't paid for in a neighborhood where no one owns their houses or their cars, but everyone has a house and multiple cars. Which of us is the racist again? The one taking advantage of priveleges they didn't do anything to earn? or the one pointing out how that's BS?
Stopped reading after this sentence.Quote:

I don't claim to intimately and in full detail understand how a black dentist with a diploma from Somalia feels when he's only able to get employed as a bus driver, after leaving everything behind in his home country and ending up in the cold north, but I can relate that it must be a pretty shitty feeling.

Has this ever happened to you? No, it hasn't, and if it had and you were offended, I'd have to use one or more homophobic slurs to describe what I think of that.
Look I'm not saying the left isn't overreacting to language and that there's never a place to use the n-word, but you don't tweet it... you yell it out a passenger side window, or during sex, or if you're having a particularly tasty sandwich.
I understand the situation of individuals. What I don't do is assume one person shares a situation with another just because they are the same race.Quote:

And would you rather be a dentist in Somalia, or a bus driver in USA? Tell me how this shitty feeling compares to the feeling he had when he decided he had to leave Somalia.
Wait, does than mean if I use a racial slur to insult one black person, other black people don't have the right to be offended?Quote:

When a plane passes over, or a ship goes across the horizon, it's as if they can't see it because their brain cannot relate the information to their consciousness. That's most likely horseshit, but that's how I feel about the Kashogi case. Trump says on Saturday that the Saudis are a great ally and now they want to extradite some guy for the turks to kill to appease Erdogan so he won't go after the Saudis for torture killing a US citizen. Is this right? Did I just have a stroke?
Did previous presidents get accused of being muslims from africa that created ISIS?
The issue is that with him it's a choice between a dentist in Somalia or a bus driver in USA, and for you and me between a dentist in Somalia or a dentist in USA.
That's oppression? I think you need to look up what that word means. To be insulted by idiots is not to be oppressed.
I can't walk into America and get job as a dentist, even if I'm a qualified dentist. I would be treated the same as the Somalian. In fact, he'd probably get preferential treatment since I'm British and therefore not coming from a war-torn country.
Maybe an American has a better chance of getting a job as a dentist than a Somalian. I don't see what the problem is there.
So... I'll ask again... would you rather be a dentist in Somalia, or a bus driver in USA? Because I know what I'd rather be, and even if I were a qualified dentist driving a bus in America, I'd still be happy to be a foreigner who is employed. Eventually, I'll become an American citizen, and then maybe I can be a dentist.
It's like you think having a qualification gives you a god given right to a job, regardless of the country you wish to work in.
If America were in need of dentists, if they were inviting people from around the world to apply for vacant dentists jobs, and if white people were getting employed but not black people, then I would accept there is a case for institutional racism.
If a qualified dentist can't get a job in America because America has enough dentists, but he still gets a job as a bus driver, I don't see the problem. If he wants to be a dentist, if he wants to maximise his earnings while using his qualification, choose a better country to go to, ie one that requires qualified dentists.
Maybe he should try the UK. Most of our dentists are foreign.
Here's the thing with Obama... if he was ousted as President on the basis that he was allegedly born in Africa when he wasn't, then you can say he was oppressed.
That didn't happen. What did happen was a black man became President of USA, and served two terms. He is still considered to be a highly influential politician. Obama is not oppressed, not even close. Does he suffer racist abuse? Of course he does, that is sadly inevitable. But unless he is being denied opportunities due to his race, he is not oppressed.
We were talking about privilege, I just ignored you moving the goalposts.
You're entitled to your opinion, but I disagree. Why would US businesses prefer employment of people from war-torn countries? What would be your thought process as a US HR person recruiting dentists?
Huh? Of course I don't. What I said is that when 2 people with identical qualifications are treated differently based on where they're coming from or what they look like, it's a problem. This has zero to do with any kind of entitlement.
So because Obama and Oprah aren't oppressed, the blacks should all just stfu?
My thought process?Quote:
Why would US businesses prefer employment of people from war-torn countries? What would be your thought process as a US HR person recruiting dentists?
- Is the applicant qualified?
- Is the applicant a USA citizen?
- Can the applicant speak English?
- Does he have a criminal record?
I do not care about the answers to the following question...
- What colour is the applicant's skin?
- Where was the applicant born?
- What is the applicant's religion?
- Does the applicant identify as a pansexual potato?
Well yes that's a problem, but for the most part, it's happening inside of your head. And for those who are making decision based on these criteria... the law does not permit such action, so it is not institutional racism, it is the racist policy of an individual company and they are breaking the law.Quote:
What I said is that when 2 people with identical qualifications are treated differently based on where they're coming from or what they look like, it's a problem.
This is what you guys call ad bananium or some shit.Quote:
So because Obama and Oprah aren't oppressed, the blacks should all just stfu?
To expand on this one...Quote:
- Is the applicant a USA citizen?
- If no... does the applicant have a work permit?
I wouldn't want you to think I'm contradicting my claim that I don't care where the applicant was born. All I care about is if the applicant has a lawful right to work in USA, and if he's fit for the job. And that is the criteria of the vast majority of employers across America. I'm not going to believe that a Western nation full of decent people is broadly racist. I know USA has race problems, more so than we have here in the UK, but I also truly believe that most Americans are decent people.
It's an invasion! Deploy the troops!
My political stunt at the expense of our men and women in uniform didn't work? Send them home. The migrants haven't made it there yet? Whatever, fuckit, just send them home...

https://www.usnews.com/news/health-c...in-two-decades
Is there bad press for the chicken pox vac too? Is it being blamed for autism? Or are people just being hysterical to the point where they won't get their kids vaccinated for anything?
America First!
The world is a dangerous place!
https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefings...-saudi-arabia/
Wuf, can you stop raking the forest floor for one second and explain this shit?
I am honestly glad I don't have children so I don't have to wrestle with my conscience when it comes to vaccination. It's all very well me sitting here being alarmed and even paranoid about it, but when I have to consider the long-term health of my child, it's a whole different matter.
I'm a strong believer in allowing children's immune system to develop immunisation naturally. I got chicken pox when I was a kid. I had fevers, too. As an adult, I seem to have a strong immune system, despite poor diet and not much exercise. Maybe I'm just lucky, or it's genetic. And I'm sure I had the TB jab when I was a kid, so it's not like my immune system is 100% natural. But idk, I don't really understand why measles, mumps and rubella are huge concerns in this country. They rarely prove fatal, and considering the potential health risks associated with vaccines, I do have to ask if it's worth it. I feel like the kids of today are the guinea pigs for the kids of the future.
God you're a moron, if you don't vaccinate your kids you're a moron and it's really as simple as that.
It's not about individuals getting vaccines; it's about vaccinating the population (which obv. requires individuals to get vaccines, but the goal isn't to keep the individual healthy, it's to keep the society healthy.)
It's not about protecting the healthiest, strongest people, whom are unlikely to have permanent damage from the illness; it's about preventing the least healthy and least able to fight the diseases from being permanently harmed or killed.
You getting vaccinated may literally save childrens' lives. It may not. It's complicated, since it's not ultimately about any individual getting vaccinated, but the overall lack of viable vectors within the population.
If we're talking about chicken pox, it's not just about yaya you get it as a kid and feel itchy for a week then you're fine. It's what if you get it as an adult and then you can be in serious trouble.
I never had mumps, for example. It just didn't seem to make the rounds at my school very often. So, if there were a mumps vaccine back in the 70s I would be fine. But now if I get it, it's a concern.
When my parents were kids, polio made the rounds. I don't remember anyone worrying about the polio vaccine when it came out, it was more like 'give me ten please'.
I really don't know what the objections to vaccs are, besides some b.s. about autism, like 'hey my kid's got autism, three years ago they had a small pox vac. let's connect some dots that aren't really there.'
He doesn't understand how immune systems work. He thinks vaccines weaken your immune system when in fact they do the exact opposite. In Ongs head vaccines are similar to wrapping your kids in cotton wool and not letting them come into contact with any germs which is bad for their immune systems, especially for things like making them allergic to certain substances.
He thinks kids getting a disease and overcoming it is preferable than being vaccinated against it. So Ong would rather a child got chicken pox over getting vaccinated against it. This is also incorrect as vaccines are much safer, do less damage to the child and there are many fewer risks of complication and all it costs is a little bit of autism.

I feel like I've been saying that for two years now. It's like every day or maybe every other day it's been 'omfg I can't believe he did/said that', and then the next day or two later it's something even more appalling. I'm guessing the number of times 'a new low' has been used in the news in reference to Trump must be in the dozens by now.
What's interesting is that my head has actually stopped spinning at this point, as if it's come to accept that crazy is the new normal. I think I'd be more shocked if a week went by when he didn't do something outrageously dumb/bad/illegal. I used to wonder if this is part of that 3D chess thing everyone says he's doing, but then I remember that he's actually just an insane moron and the people saying the 3D chess shit are oxygen-starved, brainwashed fools.
What if it causes autism? Are you happy to just blindly take that risk? For the sake of vaccinating against a (usually) non-lethal disease? Some people would call that moronic.
My comments come from someone who doesn't have kids, who doesn't have to make this decision. If I did have kids, I'd be thinking about this from a completely different angle.
What if weed causes autism?
What if typing on the internet causes autism?
There's just as much evidence for these causes as there is for vaccines causing it. I.e., none.
I mean seriously, some dufus looks at the data and sees that more kids are getting autism, and there's more vacs now, than in the olden days. So they put 2 and 2 together and get 5.
Global warming causes autism.
What if it gives you autism that replaces your current autism and it's less bad autism?
What if autism gives you chicken pox?
LDO, what's wrong with you? You want your kid to be autistic? No? Better give 'em plenty of weed.
Everyone knows the single most common cause of autism is weed deficiency.
Don't be a bad dad.
Do the right thing.
Get 'em their vaccs and shotgun 'em your bong rips.
For a healthier tomorrow.
You know your theory sucks when the "let's pay someone to accuse Mueller of sexual assault" guy endorses it.

Actually Ong I know about the whole thing, which is rare. Look up the original case yourself. It basically exists from some really bad data interpretation from a scientist that has been shown to be complete nonsense a thousand times over. It was shown to be crap at the time and since then no large scale data analysis has shown anything.
There is no proposed mechanism for vaccines causing autism. Vaccines in themselves don't all work the exact same way so even it was true for one vaccine (which everything says it isn't) there is nothing to suggest it'd happen for others either.
If the link between autism and vaccines were true then the development of autism just through your kid getting some disease they got over would be as likely. So basically every time you got a cold there would be a ~equal chance of developing autism. I'm also fairly sure that bar brain injuries on some level people don't just develop autism from anything and there hasn't been anything to suggest otherwise. That tiny part I may be wrong on though.
This is kind of the science behind it however it isn't even "more kids" are getting autism it's the fact that autism wasn't a thing and then it was a thing and now it gets diagnosed more. You could draw hundreds of much more damning things from similar data. In fact the fall of people dying of cancer is heavily linked to autism. Wifi is a cause of austism. Rising life expectancy is a cause of autism. Basically pick a thing that increase in the past 50 years and you can say it's a cause of autism to a similar (a lot of the time better) degree of accuracy.
When I was a kid autism was only used to refer to really severe cases. There was no Aspergers or autism spectrum or anything like that. If you were unable to communicate and banged your head against a wall you were autistic, otherwise no. The "rise" of autism is pretty much down to broadening its definition.
Same thing with dyslexia. Back in the day it didn't even exist, then it meant specifically kids who mixed up letters when reading, now we have kids getting diagnosed with it left and right. Basically it's become a nice way of saying 'someone who's not so good with words'.
I'd argue both were probably quite under diagnosed 30 or so years ago. Now rather than being a diagnosis which can be used to help benefit the person being diagnosed it's more used as an excuse as to why things are worse/can't be done.
Dyslexic students at my university can request extended time for their exams, and it's typically 2x as much time.
Funny thing is that we give all 700+ introphys students more than that amount of time for every exam.
It's still not uncommon for a dyslexic student to request still more time.
As if anyone is increasing their score on an exam after sitting in a chair with no food for 5 hours. Whatever points you earn on that test almost certainly came in the first 2 - 3 hours. At some point, you just gotta admit defeat. At some point, it's a cruelty on our part to extend the time.
