Pretty much, and it's so ridiculously profitable.

You talking about his book? I'll admit I thought about buying it. But then I remembered my backlog is like 20+ right now.
Well I mean that's one specific example, but when you have a ton of people that only take a little poking to spread your message far and wide, you can sell just about anything. What's perfect is that these people tend to have a sizable disposable income and an inclination to spent that money on things they deem "fashionable" in terms of ideology. If you want to reference my post about rich white men ruling the world, it's pretty much the same kind of thing. The most recent season of South Park kind of hinted at it too with the idea of people becoming ads through the SJW era.
highly strong case for how open borders to even the worst islamic ideologues makes things better

Really interesting article written by a top developer of Bitcoin on why he's quitting and why the experiment has failed.

I can't understand why people don't see a problem with this.Quote:
If you had to pick a contender for rape capital of the world, Sweden wouldn’t likely come to mind. Yet it now has the second-highest “official” rape rate of any country. It’s 53.2 rapes per 100,000 inhabitants is five times the United States’ rate and is only surpassed by Lesotho, a tiny nation in the middle of southern Africa.
It wasn’t always this way. Once an extremely safe land, violent crime in Sweden has increased 300 percent since 1975. That year, write Scandinavian journalists Ingrid Carlqvist and Lars Hedegaard, “421 rapes were reported to the police; in 2014, it was 6,620. That is an increase of 1,472%.” Why is 1975 significant?
Because that’s the year the Swedish government decided to adopt an immigration regime that would transform Sweden into a “multicultural” country.
What do we think of this? http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/arti...teenagers.html
Quote:
German leisure centre becomes the first to ban all migrants after a schoolgirl was sexually assaulted in a public swimming pool by Syrian teenagers
Three Syrian teenagers arrested in Munich for attack on girls at public pool
The three boys, all aged under 15, circled the two girls then groped them
Leisure centre in Bornheim has now barred all migrants as a precaution
It comes as concerns grow over the New Year mass assaults in Cologne
I think I can probably comment on that article and suggest that we intern all immigrants in camps and I'd get a shit load of likes.
For example...
How about Auschwitz? They have good facilities there I hear.Quote:
They shouldn't be allowed to walk around free, they should be in some sort of detention centre & if they don't agree... Go home!! (1411 likes, 17 dislikes)

Some of the problems were with the Chinese and their Firewall, and the ruling class in this were those with the lions share of mining hardware.
It's interesting just to see how the whole point of bitcoin was to build trust into the system, but the system could still be derailed by the games people will play.
if i ever have daughters, daddy forcing them to carry knives. a good stabby stabby deters a rapist, and there's no way in hell a woman would get in any trouble for stabbing a man whom she claimed assaulted her.
Pepper spray would be more effective. No need to really aim, cant be disarmed as easily, no strength or skill requirement. And all u need to do is disable for 30 sec while u flee
yet the kind that girls who aren't attracted to douchebags due to not having douchebag fathers have the most to worry about.
lol at carrying a knife for self defense. Here, person who is exceptionally better suited for hand to hand combat, be pissed off that I ineptly tried to stab you and have fun mutilating me with my knife after you're done raping me.
Seems like mace or a tazer are the best options for a woman.
That's why I wear a vest of claymore mines every time I leave the house.
My daughters are doing martial arts from a young age. If you split the population of women into 2 categories, those with black belts or better in some form of martial art and those without, holding for everything else, I bet my ass those with black belts get raped less.
Yup taser is the one. A knife is stupid.
For sure if I had kids, they'd be doing martial arts of some sort.
well a gun is the best option. pepper spray is better than a knife in some ways but not others. overall i do agree with you though, spray is better. i just like knives a whole bunch. no way in hell id raise a girl who doesn't think the coolest thing in the world is carrying concealed weapons. plus my mind goes to knives immediately since theyre the thing im most afraid of. somebody with spray can hurt me, but somebody with a knife can scare me too.
also carrying a weapon assumes training is involved. the attacker wouldn't be more prepared or adept.

This perfectly illustrates the reason why multiculturalism does not work and why these people are invaders in every sense of the word. Instead of adapting to the existing culture, they are trying to change it to be their culture. There is no such thing as two different cultures peacefully co-existing in the same place at the same time unless they are already very much alike.

My Name is Al-Haashim Kamena Atangana and I have been reading in recent weeks sexual Assaults that have been occurring At York University. I just wanted to suggest a few changes within the Canadian laws that will help prevent sexual assaults from happening in the future.
Just to introduce myself I am a Muslim born in Montréal, Quebec 33 years ago. I was born in a Christian Family and I have decided to embrace Islam in 1998. I do allot of Islamic Outreach Programs downtown (yonge and Dundas).I am from African Carribean Ethnicity.
I wanted to mention that the reason why these sex attacks are continuously happening is because the Canadian laws, which gives too much freedom to women, are the cause of these sex attacks. It has been revealed that every 5 seconds a woman is being sexually assaulted in North America. Women in North America are falling victims of the Democratic Freedom that you they passionly believe in. The reason why a woman gets raped is because of the way she dress. Women dress so provocatively so much that they receive too much attention for themselves and that attention at times leads to death.
If the law enforcements and the Canadian politicians were very serious about solving this problem, they would introduce laws that would make it illegal for women to dress provocatively in the streets. It is true that many people would object to this if that were to happen. and this will definitely create protests and opposition. However by arresting sexual predators is not going to solve the problem because as long women continue to dress like this there will always be perverts and rapist who will continue to remain on the loose.
I am suggesting that Toronto becomes the first City in North America to introduce laws that would make it illegal for women to dress provocatively. If we do this the other cities would follow.
You should take your example from the way Muslim women dress. Why does Muslim women who wear long dress and covers her head aren’t targeted for sex attacks? Why is it that Rapists and sexual predators only target women that dress so provocatively? Because Muslim women have nothing to show in regards to her body.
I watched an interview a while back with a prominent Muslim woman commentator on Islam (I forget who). I'll never forget the great point she made, that the treatment of women that Islam teaches allows men to never grow up. They get to stay 7 years old, behaving on emotion and incapable of responsibility for their actions. As adults this manifests as ease of raping women and it being her fault.
Bought a decent chef knife. Nothing special. $100 price range. But fuck jesus in the ass it's amazing. The difference when slicing an onion! I cried for multiple reasons.
Im employed. Fuck yes.
Grats! Doing what?
I'll give the jobcentre staff their credit. If I worked there for 20 years having to deal with cunts like me on a daily basis, I'd have killed myself by now.
I love a good, sharp knife. I stand firmly by the axiom that a sharp knife is a safe knife. A dull knife is more dangerous because it doesn't behave as expected, inducing frustration and less safe handling of the knife.
I went with family tradition when I purchased my first knife set, Chicago Cutlery w/ walnut handles. They're a perfectly usable, stainless steel knife set. However, I haven't oiled the handles often enough and I will need to replace them sooner than later.
What knives are you guys using for your main kitchen set?
Would you recommend?
Given identical usage, you are correct.
My point centers around the notion that you use these items differently.
How often have you accidentally cut yourself with a razor blade (or any tool you assume is very sharp and treat with respect)?
How often with a dull blade that slipped (or any tool you at first assumed was sharp, but then had to force it)?
Note that if you expect something to be dull, and you cut yourself because it is sharp, that is another situation altogether.
Yeah true. Not cut myself since. So granted, I'm more careful with the new knife. But haven't cut myself on a kitchen knife in the last 5 yrs (as far as I can remember ). Too early to tell of your theory holds as I've only owned the new one for less than a month.
Yeah man, you won't cut yourself on sharp knives.
I just cut the shit out of myself.
Uhhh, I mean, uhh, but how many times have you cut yourself besides that one time?
That's neither what I said, nor is it my point.
My point is that when you respect something as a dangerous tool, you handle it with heightened care to avoid personal injury.
Again. This is not what I said.
You're just being a dick for the sake of trolling.
Stop being a dick.
***
Just in case you're actually confused about my point:
Sorry for that outburst. You know.
:)
The central point I'm making is that you must KNOW that the knife is sharp and handle with appropriate care. The tangential point I'm making is that if you THINK a knife is sharp, then use it and it is dull, you are more likely to keep using it than to immediately sharpen it. By using the dull blade, you require more force to accomplish the same task. The blade may catch and stop, causing whatever's being cut to roll. This is a common mishap which results in sliced fingers.
The problem is the immediate loss of respect for the tool. Once it is shown to be less dangerous than you had anticipated, you use it more recklessly - even though it is still a dangerous tool, just not quite as dangerous as you expected.
that's what she said.
til ur sam waterston.
Just realized that not all towns have things like sprouts and costco, and that South Parks' commentary applied to my home.
Kinda grunching on the knives thing-- Dull knives are more dangerous because a dull knife causes the user to want to push to overcome the added resistance (often this is the only option to make the cut with a dull knife) and this is inherently unstable as the pivot point of the knife is at the edge of the blade and the force is being applied several inches up at the handle. It's like trying to ride a bike through a foot of heavy mud-- it requires more force, yet the gyroscopic effects created by application of force are mitigated by the drag of the mud. Generally the appropriate motion is a slicing motion, which has the user pushing or pulling the knife with very little to no downward force being applied.
I have five knives that I keep out. Two are cheap bin knives from the cutlery store, a basic pairing knife and a bread knife. The other three: Misono UX10 Sujihiki, Mighty Mac 6" Santoku, and a Japanese brand (only markings are in Japanese) 4.5" Petty Pairing.
The UX10 is by far my favorite. A lot of people aren't familiar with Japanese slicers, but they are an amazing knife. The UX10 and the Santoku are pretty much versions of a traditional French chef's knife which have been specialized to opposite ends of the spectrum. So I need an extra knife, but with the two knives I'm able to do everything a chef's knife is typically used for much better. With these five I rarely feel the need to pull out anything else.
You think that?!
It's pretty sad for you alpha males if you consider diplomacy a feminine property.
It's harder to sustain a leadership role without it.
Do you honestly think that comparing me to a woman is an insult to me?
After all this time?
Do you think you know me at all?
I kinda don't.
:?
If you say so.
I aint shoveling shit.
It's more indicative of me being bored, really. Forum's dead. I lack a creative solution.
I mean, I'm perfectly happy with who I am and you're still failing at insulting me.
Try harder.
I bet you would actually be insulting if you didn't assume other people share your value system. But then, I don't respect the greater talking points of your value system, so it'd be hard for you (in particular) to break through that barrier and actually insult me.
DUCY?
I don't know what this means.
Enlighten me.
til i downtalk.
I do both. Or at least I can think of examples of me doing both. I think in general I down talk. But when I'm happy to see someone I can up talk a greeting.
According to Google, uptalk is basically the Scottish accent.
Amirit?
I uptalk when I'm incredulous, mostly. That emotion doesn't get much mileage with me, so I wouldn't say I uptalk a lot.
EDIT: Man, our language is so inflected that I'm sure I uptalk more often than I said. I use inflection to ask questions all the time when I'm teaching physics labs. It's a good way to lead someone who's confused to the answer they need without outright telling them. I can imply the answer with my inflection, so the student has more confidence to say the correct thing. Ultimately, delivering confidence is my goal. The knowledge will fade over time, but the confidence to pursue the scientific process will remain.
I hope.
reacting to what spoon said. i would get you some ice for that burn, but im afraid it would just melt upon contact.
Was that a burn?

There's only been 2 days of class so far, so only the first demos have gone out.
I described them in another thread.
I have my new-hire orientation tomorrow, which will last the entire day.
The demos for tomorrow are mostly the same thing. The professors talk about these introductory concepts for the first few lectures.
There's a thing called an electrophorus which I hadn't heard of before, but which is easy to understand. It's basically half a capacitor.
A capacitor is just 2 conductive surfaces which are facing each other, and not touching. For practical applications, an insulator (usually called a dielectric, but same thing) is in between the plates. The use of the insulator has multiple advantages which I don't need to get into now. The electrophorus is just a single conductive plate and the insulator is a large, horizontal surface.
Similar to Ben Franklin rubbing rubber and amber rods with various materials, you rub the insulator to deposit charge. Now there's some charge deposited on the insulator, and it is fairly trapped there, since that's what insulator means. You put the plate on the insulator and something invisible happens. The charges in the conductor move around freely. The like charges move away from the charges on the insulator and the different charges move close to the insulator. Very little charge actually transfers between the 2. It is not strictly necessary to bring them into direct contact, but usually the plate is set on the insulator.
Now the trick is that, with the plate on the insulator, you ground the top of the plate. Since the top of the plate is where all the like charges were hanging out, you effectively remove more of the like charge than the different charge. When you remove the ground, you are left with a charged plate.
This method of charging something is called induction.
In so charging the plate, it is interesting to note that it acquires a charge opposite that of the charge deposited on the insulator. The charge on the insulator remains the same as before you performed the induction. You can transfer the charge from the plate onto something else and repeat the whole thing without having to rub the insulator again.
Repeating this process can allow you to deposit a considerable charge onto something with incredibly low-tech equipment.
A fairly cool professor popped into my office this afternoon and gave me a gift.
It's some nice dark chocolate he picked up in London while he was there for the past few weeks.
I barely know the guy. I helped him out with the A/V system in one of the classrooms one day.
There's no reason I deserved a gift, but he did it.
I work with good people.
:D
he's got the hots for you.
Pretty sure you owe him some slow head now.
The first rule is to not accept anything from anybody.
On man, you didn't accept the chocolate did you?

MMM your knowledge of baseball will come in super handy here. Like JKDS is saying, when you're up to bat, the fairly cool professor is gonna pitch a rubber ball to you. That's when you do a slow head bob and accept the chocolate. By doing this, you'll have proven that you deserve it.
Jesus Christ. You people are worse than I am.
So my misogyny finally cost me a client for the first time over the past few days.
You guys!
He was giving the chocolates out to a bunch of people, I was surprised that he included me, as I'm the new guy and I've only really met him once before.
No contact, no stammering, BTW.
I mean... there's no reason you guys are wrong, here, but I don't think that's what was going on. (I lived in Seattle for a while; I've been hit on by dudes before. I'm not saying I'm an expert on knowing when I'm being hit on by either sex, though.)
:goldstar:
http://cdn4.teen.com/wp-content/uplo...king-about.gif
Ouch. That's rough.
Wait... you're a mysogynist?!
See all of you amateur misogynists need to gather around and listen so you can learn how to step your game up and do this shit right.
The cautionary tale version of what happened is that I had a client whose content manager was a really annoying, incompetent woman. [Edit: I want to point out that this was by far the most incompetent person in the type of position she held that I have ever known in my life.] I let them know I was not going to be working with them anymore because I don't work with annoying, incompetent people. Then she called me a misogynist and suggest that I didn't want to work with her because she was a woman.
Over Christmas (a few months later), she had posted on a message board for people in my industry putting me on blast for being a misogynist. This was a part of a rant she went on about getting fired, and it included pretty much calling every person in the industry a sexist, woman-hating asshole because of her inability to succeed.
I got in contact with her previous employer once I found out about this (which was earlier this week), and he offered me what was previously her job, but it pays less with less flexibility than what I have going on now, and it would have required me to interact with more people than I have to now, so I was like lol no. I'm back writing for the guy now, though.
Unrelated, but I thought Carrie Fisher was always over-rated in the looks department. She was also a druggie during the time the Star Wars films were being made.
aniston not overrated because she was never rated super highly. plus nips. monica overrated. dont get me started on phoebe's retard ass.
i wouldn't call fisher overrated since i dont think she was ever rated that highly. most of us could take or leave her scantily clad jabba slave scenes. i probably would have preferred harrison ford in the getup just to see if he had abs. fisher is the sister who nobody wants to marry but wouldn't be upset if that's all that was left.
Kudrow is the only fuckable one in that bullshit show.
Friends is probably the most overrated TV show of all time.
Wrong!
Friends was a great show. I enjoyed it when it was first put and then for some reason it became fashionable to not think it was a good show and I at some point joined that bandwagon.
But then I recently actually watched a couple of episodes and couldn't belive how funny it was.
Example : https://youtu.be/bIIm7yBdUG4
I mean how can you watch that and not laugh?
