Warm up milk in a bag in the microwave. It's awesome.
also the caps on gallon milk jugs aren't exactly the most stable things and aren't really meant to be stored sideways.

Just felt a small earthquake, or the results of a large one. It was a 5.2 but probably 250 miles away...it was how I'd imagine a jello bath would feel.
Yea the epicenter was like 50 miles from my family, and Facebook pretty much exploded over it. I heard it was caused by Oklahoma State fans breathing a collective sigh of relief after last night, but I'm sure there aren't nearly enough of them in existence for that to happen.
It's too bad my home state only makes national news when something gets destroyed.
I'm making a Link from Legend of Zelda, just with a red tunic.
It is a strange type of disturbing.

For a show to sell better in America, it's better not to mention something we're too stubborn to believe in.
How is it that Russians make such excellent chess players but awful poker players? It deeply confuses me.
Because chess is logical and poker is not
I dunno, poker is a game of probability, pot odds, implied odds and range assignment. One who is good at chess should be able to master these skills better than someone incapable of applying logic. Chess is a thinker's game, so too is poker, at least at higher levels. The only difference as far as I'm concerned is chess is not a gambler's game, whereas poker clearly is, especially at lower level poker, where unfortunately I reside.
SKILL GAME
It's the mix up of the stimulus/work/reward thing. Chess doesn't tell your brain that bad decisions are good and good decisions are bad, but poker does
I was kinda making a boring joke at first, but that explanation is probably true
man i LOVE nicki minaj....for that ass....not her touching lyrics
At first I was just moaning because a Russian bust me out of a tourney with K9s, but I do find it strange that they're so good at one thinking game and so bad at another. I know I'm just generalising, and I also realise I'm playing low stakes donkey poker, but we all know Russians are generally who we want to see at the table, whatever level we're at.
Bikes, are you suggesting chess is not a game of skill?
no one itt plays or watches nearly enough poker anymore to get that reference
Aren't you comparing like a history of excellent chess schools and kids forced into training programs by parents trying to live vicariously through their spawn versus the children of decently-off businessmen who are bored, have computers, and are able to chuck some money online?
Thanks Mark, I think you just nailed it.

Hi,
I sometimes post here for workout advice from thugwugy and gyms.
Last time I posted my diet sucked and you guys rightly pointed that fact out. Since then I've adjusted my diet and I'm actually seeing reasonable gains for once, which is amazing because I'd always considered myself a complete hardgainer.
The one area I'm finding a bit awkward is my stomach; when I was a kid and a skinny teen (like BMI 18-19) I always had a pot belly and just taught myself to compensate by sucking it in.
I've been incorporating a fair bit of stomach work into my routine over the past month (squats, weighted situps) and I've found that whilst that area is developing muscularly, it's developing slightly outwards and I'm getting a bit of a pregnant belly. There's probably a decent bit of body fat there given that I'm eating a ton and on about 1700kcal/day in high calorie supplements but it's still a bit disconcerting to be moving slightly away from the well-known six pack look.
Is this just my body's natural shape and something I have to live with, or is it indicative of bad form or incorrect supplement use? I was thinking of bringing down the calories back to my normal intake and switching to purely protein supplements, but I'm reluctant to do so because that was precisely what held me back for months before.
Any tips brahs?
show a pic of your abs form the front and the side standing naturally. If your doing weighted work you could be developing more muscle than you want. It could be fat or it could be that your actually developing muscle and they are getting bigger or some combination of the two. You may also have a more defined curve to your lower spine making it look like it protrudes. If your losing the six pack fat is definitely a problem.
Don't do a lot of weighted work on abs. Between all the heavier work like squats and barbell/dumbbell work you may only need to do a small amount of work. Rollouts (or ab wheel) may be all you need to work the area. Lighter and more reps keep the midsection trimmer but still tight.
I have the same issue as I have rather large abs; I'd have to be obese to no longer have a four pack, but a six pack only comes after a ton of dieting. That's just the spot most men keep their subcutaneous fat. That 'slightly pregnant look' is really just fat, but it is accentuated due to muscle size. I also consider ab muscle size to be purely genetic and not about spot training because you get a ton of ab work just from normal stuff like squats and even bench press. Their primary function is stability so they naturally grow when used that way, and if you look, you'll see athletes who never do ab specific stuff still having huge abs
Don't try to gain muscle and lose lower belly fat the same time. The only people who can do that are on drugs. Generally, if you want to maintain a nice physique without putting a ton of work into it, you have to settle for some lower belly fat, but that fat isn't really an issue for things like attractiveness to women, and simply being more muscular will make it look like it's not really there. Generally, you'll feel better, function better, and women are attracted more to a bigger guy with some of that belly fat than a guy who sacrifices enough to get down to 10% bodyfat
And yeah like jyms said, pics would allow us to gauge quite well what you can/should do

Ya, as an honest opinion your still in the range of what we call "skinny fat" and are about 15-18% BF. Abs come in at around 12-10% for most people. You need to focus on a little more upper body muscle, to change your chest, waist and hip proportions more than trim your waist and BF%. You also have quite a pronounced forward tilt to the pelvis causing your low back to arch and abs to push forward. Just look at your waist band and low back
This pic has been used alot by people that have less muscle wanting to look muscular and ripped as an example. He has the same frame as yours pretty much but look at his pelvis (hips). They are back and level. and his low back is much less arched.

It's hard as hell to get that lean and look strong without the muscle mass to begin with. Dieting down this lean will cause muscle loss. Focus on more muscle and your leaness will come from a higher intensity workout and more muscle:fat ratio. Eat clean as hell and eat a lot and workout hard. Look into Poloquin's GVT (German Volume Training) to put size on your smaller frame. Most people that think they are "Hardgainers" usually find out that it's intensity and workload that has kept them from gaining, not anything genetic.
what has been seen, cannot be unseen
I'd say at this point, work on gaining muscle, but also yeah eat well. Actually, always eat well. If you eat well yet still high calorie you may put on fat but still feel much better; fat isn't always a negative, but not eating nutritionally is
You do have fat levels where your lower belly will always jut out, but it also looks like its your entire belly. Which makes me think jyms analysis of your pelvic tilt is correct. Frankly, I don't know anything about fixing what I think is called lordosis. Without looking at it, my guess is lordosis can often be attributed to overactive hip flexors and underactive hip extendors. So basically you want to not do any things like sit ups and leg raises, and instead focus on squats, deads, hyperextensions, and glute-ham raises. Also stretch hip flexors. Do this by putting one knee on ground, other foot flat on ground in front of you like the bottom of a lunge, then push hips forward until you feel the stretch in the front of your thigh/hip/waist on your back leg with knee on ground
I'm thankful boog is getting the eff out of my country!

Ok, ty. Given that I'm a very poor student and can only afford dumbbells, can I get some decent legs/ab work done with just squats and dumbbell deadlifts in my routine? Also by the looks of it is the curvature of my back purely down to spinal curvature and no posture issues?
Thanks also to jyms, I'll definitely commit to bulking up further before tweaking anything, GVT looks rigorous but very effective. I'll also look at hip position as it relates to posture. ty.
given that you're a student do you have access to a gym?
You can get plenty with just dumbbells. In fact, with something like squats, you don't even need to use weights to get relatively big. It's not like if you do 200 bodyweight squats a day, your legs are magically going to still be small
As for the hip issue, I'm actually kinda wrong on squats helping that. If my memory serves correctly and I'm not far off on your issue, at least one knee extender muscle is also a hip flexor. Probably what you should focus on are hamstrings. Generally speaking, if you always default your focus to hamstrings, you'll be better off, that's just how it is. Humans are weird in that hip flexors need very little work, yet produce a ton of problems; while hamstrings are extremely important, yet also need a bunch of work. You can work hamstrings just fine with a slightly straighter leg deadlift with dumbbells. Just do more reps, always keep from breaking form unless you want injury
So for starters I would say work on developing deadlifts and stretching the hip flexors
I've never done straight-leg deadlifts before, but I think I should start doing them because my hamstrings are way too weak in relation to the rest of my legs. Do I lock my knees for these, or do I have just a slight bend in my legs?
You have a slight bend to protect the knees but lock them, they should never move so that all the movement comes from the hip. Keep your eyes up and the natural curve in your low back by retracting your scapula (shoulders back) while bending.
If your hamstrings are weak, do hamstring work first before other leg exercises too. Weak hamstrings will cause low back problems and even patella tracking issues that will become knee pain and problems later on as well.
ugh.
Hhmmm, my friends smoke dope all through the week and then take mdma on the weekend.
