tidbit, US presidents have all been above average in height, and i wanna say that Bush has stood on boxes when overseas being the pulpit when next to tall leaders, but i could be wrong on that. people just like tall people more. and watch schindlers list and notice that liam neeson stands taller than everybody in the entire film; it was a pretty effective effect at making him seem more noble and such
bruno was best part of ali g show, and the movie gonna be even better
i read the account of him trying to seduce ron paul, pretty fucking epic
Or it's because I have no idea how they actually think, thus the only way to describe it :-PQuote:

Settle this debate.
A team is 53-29. They are ___x___ games above .500.
a) x = 12
b) x = 24
24
who ever says 12 is an idiot
24. how do you even come up with 12?Quote:

I tried to explain that's basically like playing 2 separate games so it's not relevant. More important is that the 40-38 team would have to lose 2 games to be back at .500; hence they are 2 games above .500.
He wouldn't budge, so either I'm a poor explainer or he's just very dumb.

Your 5-95% range is 5'1" to 5'8" with the middle at like 5'5".Quote:

perk of being tall: it's easier to get laid
perk of being short: longer life expectancy
http://www.sciencedirect.com/science...c19756a8ee28e2

Findings based on millions of deaths suggest that shorter, smaller bodies have lower death rates and fewer diet-related chronic diseases, especially past middle age. Shorter people also appear to have longer average lifespans. The authors suggest that the differences in longevity between the sexes is due to their height differences because men average about 8.0% taller than women and have a 7.9% lower life expectancy at birth. Animal experiments also show that smaller animals within the same species generally live longer.
just start lifting weights. dead serious. it's easy and fun as shitQuote:

There hasn't been a ton research done on this stuff, but I have seen a bit of evidence that suggests that calorie reduction increases longevity. Obviously if the reduction is to the point of malnurishment it has the opposite effect. One rather interesting study involved intermittent fasting in mice i.e. the mice would eat like once every 48 hours or something, and they lived substantially longer than the normally fed control group. I'm not sure what the calorie differences were there, but it's also possible that in that study calories were the same in both test groups and so the longevity was for other reasons having to do with periodic calorie restriction.
yeah I know exactly what you're talking about. The funny part is that it's at direct odds with the typical health/fitness advice (that I also recommend) of eating 5-6 small meals a day.Quote:

Looks like the study didn't control for types of couples, just couples in generalQuote:
"Couples who do not have children also show diminished marital quality over time," says Scott Stanley, research professor of psychology at University of Denver. "However, having a baby accelerates the deterioration, especially seen during periods of adjustment right after the birth of a child."

i actually started lifting about a month ago (for about the 4th time in my life) but i feel different this time. usually what happens is i get motivated, work out for a few months, then quit for no real reason. {insert poor, non-related cop out pussy excuse as to why i quit}Quote:

one thing is u gotta be sure to lift actual progressively heavy weights (relative to your strength) for decent volume.
in 4 months time, a beginner should be seeing such amazing results that they will plan to never quit
I kinda wanna start working out.
but then again I kinda wanna start doing a million diff things. Why are there so few hours in the day?
Speaking of which, Im in class with this girl that is an insomniac, and its crazy hearing her talking about it. She sleeps for like a couple of hours a week. But she gets migranes a lot because of this, so I guess that sucks.
I need some cool movies to watch, this week I finally saw Snatch, Lock Stock and two smoking barrels, and reservoir dogs
kinda looking for films like this, something from the tarantino genre that's interesting, has some action, and def. a good storyline.
all u need is like 2 hours a weekQuote:

Revolver is a guy ritchie movie that kind flew under the radar, I really liked it though even though it was a bit muddled.
I know these arent exactly the same types of movies, but old john woo/chow yun fat stuff out of hong kong is the shit. Like hardboiled, a better tomorrow, and the killer.
Also a movie that I have yet to see in its entirety: Chopper. Its an aus flick that has a bit of a cult following, I think its definitely in line with the guy ritchiesque stuff youre looking for.
Oh and Natural Born Killers is an awesome movie, even if its a bit off topic.
have you seen dirty harry? also i just saw ronin recently and thought that was really good.Quote:

Heat is sick. If you like those types of movies check out Layer Cake. Pretty good and def the same style as Guy Ritchie, not sure if he was involved.

So getting up to the gym twice a day everyday is impractical and nobody is going to adhere to it. Ok, some people might, but I certainly wouldn't.
Your other recommendation.. 3-4 workouts each lasting 20-25 minutes (I think?) has it's own set of problems. Now first of all, all impressions aside, I'm not one to spend all day at the gym nor do I recommend it. But even 3x25 minutes or 4x20 minutes seems ridiculously short to me, even from a staunch HIT perspective. Not to mention that a new lifter is not going to be able to properly stimulate their body in such a short period of time. There are also other issues to consider, for example coordination on the lifts (practice makes perfect).
The least I could recommend would be something like 2 full body workouts a week. Length of course would be dependent on the person and their goals (and how much they care), but 45 minutes should suffice possibly going on an hour or a bit longer if you include a proper warmup.
I'm curious what you would recommend to a beginner lifter to do in 20 minutes that would be effective, safe, and allow them to practice the major lifts as needed.
lol lukie do you really want to open this can of worms?
it's one of my favorite subjects, sureQuote:

re being healthy. Cardio is by far the hardest thing for me. So i just do it as my absolute first thing in the morning. I have running clothes right by my bed. I wake up and im out the door after a piss and some water.
Damn, good for you Gorilla. Running always seemed so boring to me. Anyway to spruce it up?

i wasnt recommending doing the two times a day like i did, just an example that short workouts work. it allows for the most intensity on heavy workouts while balancing with light workouts. super high frequency with varying intensity is how olympians have trained for half a century.Quote:

short workouts are great since there are a few key exercises that hit everything, and because the large majority of muscle stimulation is in the beginning of a workout. if you put a lot of effort into your first lift of the day then the other lifts are superfluous tinkering. if you're not pooped after your first lift on a heavy day you're doing it wrong, and getting pooped is what stimulates the muscles to grow/get stronger in the first place.

basically, i had no idea what i was doing. i fired up turbo tax and my bill was absurd. this was my first year filing as a small business, and was able to write off a ton more stuff than i knew of or expected. stuff i bought 2 years ago was still okay to write off last year with some deprecation value... the ftr vegas trip, blue man group tickets, another vegas trip, etc etc. she gave me advice for this year too so i plan on doing a lot of traveling/road trips with some business mixed in.Quote:

Just watched "Blow" with Depp and P. Cruz. I had always heard a lot of good stuff about the movie but never managed to see it. I was always surprised it's rarely shown on mainstream cable but after watching it I guess I see why. Overall it was pretty good, hard to go wrong with Depp but his range wasn't even stretched that far throughout the film. Definitely a good movie.
you will really like (if not love) Heat, great movie
Watch 'in Bruges' with colin farrell, of a similiar vain to lock stock, snatch etc and just as funny.
spenda seems like you've missed alot of good movies.
