Just installed windows 7. And yes, its fast.
But I have display issues, with two displays not being detected correctly. Sadly, if this persists, I'll have to reload my Vista image.
After 4 years I'm finally about to crack the 2k posts mark. I thought I'd have a lot more posts by now since it feels like I'm on here a lot. Weird.
good cider is awesome. Its just not common in the US, but that doesnt make it girly. Smirnoff ice is girly. Mikes hard lemonade is girly. A cosmo is girly.. But hard cider is decidedly not girly.Quote:

You guys should try Strong Bow hard cider if you can find it anywhere. Great stuff in my opinion. I think its actually the #1 selling hard cider in europe but its generally hard to find in the US. They usually come in big cans that are dark yellow and black.
Almost positive I have seen it before.Quote:

lol though I actually don't mind strongbow, alot of people i know really don't like as it's effectively cheap mass made cider thats pumped full of crap and sugar, theres a running joke that only chavs and tramps drink it. Your alot better going for a cider like magners which is far tastier.Quote:

hm.... Ill have to see if I can find it, thanks for the recommendation. The closest place they sell strong bow is 2.5 hours away from me in Indianapolis so the great majority of my friends have never had it. I haven't met anyone that didn't like it yet though. Though it definitely is mass made.Quote:

I think it actually looks pretty good. Its a sequel to the very 1st one. I know a lot of people think the movies are stupid but I liked the 1st one quite a bit.Quote:

I haven't seen more than 4 episodes, but I love what I saw. How do you like JJ Abrams' shows? Lost is his most popular one to date. He's got a new one called Fringe that's really addicting. He's so creative.Quote:

I can't wait till she's done season 4, so I can start watching season 5 with her.Quote:

fck that, I love watching movies from the midpoint on and trying to figure out the foreward.
Hm thats disappointing hearing the 3rd season isn't great. Hopefully they can turn it around in a 4th because I'd hate to see a show I love so much lose its awesomeness.
I guess this random thread is turning into the random TV show thread. Anyways, any of you watch Entourage? :D
Yup, my favorite show.
Ari Gold is my favorite current character, right up there with Charlie from 2.5 men.

I started wearing more Long Sleeve shirts and polo shirts instead of jerseys and throwbacks. I also started using pants more instead of jeans.
I'm buying a tennis racquet, and will start having tennis lessons soon. Also notice I wrote "tennis racquet" rather than "tennis racket".
I have dabbled in refreshing courses of French, and also started to look for info on various wine types.
I feel that I've made some progress towards the refineing I am aspiring to, so I felt like sharing.

i'm too lazy to type it all out again, so I just copied and pasted this conversation I had with a friend, edited to make it readable
[6:04:45 PM] J. Sawyer: today i made a difference in someone's life
[6:05:05 PM] J. Sawyer: i went to pick up my first withdrawal of poker monies in months
[6:05:07 PM] J. Sawyer: $500
[6:05:20 PM] J. Sawyer: anyway, outside of the bank, a man was standing
[6:05:35 PM] J. Sawyer: he asked me if i was from the island, and if he could use my phone to dial aruba
[6:05:58 PM] J. Sawyer: turn out he's trinidadian, and he was left stranded here because upon leaving trinidad he forgot to change money
[6:06:08 PM] J. Sawyer: so he only had TT$, and no one accepts that here
and couldn't pay for airpott departure fee
[6:06:30 PM] J. Sawyer: embarking fee(?)?
[6:06:32 PM] J. Sawyer: anyway
[6:06:39 PM] J. Sawyer: i went inside to pick up my monies
[6:07:03 PM] J. Sawyer: and I gave him $30 for his embarking fee plus NAF 20 so he could eat something (about $40 total)
[6:07:06 PM] J. Sawyer: it was raining too
[6:07:21 PM] J. Sawyer: and i allowed him to use my phone to dial
after that i realized that he may not have gotten the money he requested his peers in aruba to send him money in time for the flight
[6:07:57 PM] J. Sawyer: which is why i helped
[6:08:10 PM] J. Sawyer: and i do not expect anything back for it
[6:08:14 PM] J. Sawyer: just happy to help ;)
[6:08:27 PM] J. Sawyer: my poker monies
[6:08:33 PM] J. Sawyer: won from a totally negative sum game
[6:08:42 PM] J. Sawyer: put to good use imo, for the truly needy
[6:09:26 PM] J. Sawyer: oh yeah, the bank was the airpot branch obv
[6:10:00 PM] J. Sawyer: he was speechless
[6:10:08 PM] J. Sawyer: he was standing there all morning
[6:10:13 PM] J. Sawyer: had nothing to eat
[6:10:25 PM] J. Sawyer: and it was raining
[6:10:50 PM] J. Sawyer: just hope that someday if I am in the same situation someone helps me
[6:10:59 PM] J. Sawyer: :D
Your friend is rather quiet.
nah I edited his responses out, for readability.
your friend is an indecipherable typist?
I didn't think comments during the story would add to the story. I may be wrong, but, whatever.

"The highways in North Korea are huge and carless. Planes could land there. You can even see kids playing in the middle of the road. Security is a major problem because children and old people are not used to seeing cars, so they cross over the roads at any time, without watching out for oncoming traffic. The only cars you can see sometimes on highways are military ones, and most of them are stopped by the side of road, broken down. Or you can also see brand new Mercedes cars belonging to the North Korean officials passing by at very high speeds."
And, it continues.

nonetheless, OMGWTFINSANE, perhaps from a motorbike accident, maybe botched shotgun suicide. not going to research it, somebody else find out what it is and if its real imo

dude.. the guy appears to still be alive and conscious in the pic.. no way its real..
obv real, pretty standard knock on the chin
its possible that the medical personnel did not want to induce unconsciousness due to complications. things like not being able to intubate, respiratory problems with unconsciousness, if the patient lied down blood could asphyxiate him, etc
holy fuck I hope that's not real
Pretty sure it's real. I read about that a long time ago. Forget what happened but I think where I got the info from was reliable. But this was when I was an internet n00b so I could be wrong.
also, how's this for random:
My Spring Break starts tomorrow. My wife and I were going to go skiing but found out it would cost like $2,000+ for like four days out there. She's the one that wanted to go, I was ok with it, but she finally wised up and thought it was too much money.
Fast forward to today. Today I gave my kids a test over WWII. While they were taking it I decided to search around for cool shit to do (sporting events ftw). Being in Kansas City, we're limited in local stuff we can do so I started to branch out. St. Louis, Oklahoma City, Chicago, Denver, Cleveland, etc...all of those are basketball and/or hockey towns, so whatever...
Then a light-bulb goes off in my head. I love baseball. WBC Classic. Miami.
I run it by the wife and she loves it, she has a friend that lives in Miami that we'll stay with........
We've not set it up yet but goddamn this would be sweet if it went down. Just talked to a friend and he has contacts in the Miami area, so maybe we'll find a place to stay that way.
We'll see.
fucking ow.
OMG 6 OT's and going strong
fuck no flights left to Miami tonight or tomorrow
22+ hour drive after school today and a $60 flight home on Monday, we might do it still
