If you'd stop thinking about it like an HBO drama edging you to climax and start thinking about it like a disordered professor dropping knowledge bombs it'll go a lot better for you.
Just listen and don't try to intellectualize what you do and don't like. Let the daydreams come.
Also, that Martin Luther one was great. I had known about ML but didn't understand that he was a drunk with connections that mass distributed common-language translations of the Bible and who then dropped the most delightful thought in the history of Christianity - that God could reveal a truth about the Bible to you specifically for the first time. Wham Bam Westboro Baptists Mam.
And I think that's the one that ends with some city in Germany that becomes a cult overnight and forces a German Prince to rally troops to take it back(?). If so, awesome, if not, that one podcast is also awesome.
Just read about breatharianism.
Man, there are some truly fucked up weirdo's out there
remind me not to shit in rilla's cereal again
Your mom's face is an unorganized diatribe.
For real though, Carlin crushes it. This is like perfect podcast material to run while you're doing something else. Sometimes I drift from it, but when I come back I never feel lost. And I think you're completely wrong on the 80/20 thing. What filler? It's called details. Vlog is great, and for its episode lengths it really packs a lot of info, but you're not getting anywhere near the depth that Carlin is providing. I had no idea about all these Eurasian and Eastern European dynastic states that existed at the same time as and were mollywhopped by Gengis Khan. Just having a context to slot the Georgian state of the middle ages into is worth the listen.
But again, I think this podcast is prime background sound-- I might feel the same as you if I tried to approach it as a lecture and give it my undivided attention.
Getting real tired of yo shit snow
Don't let it push you around and kick sand in your face.
So... 7.6 billion USD for candy crush y/n?
Love is such a complex ball of confusing emotions
Yeah, I work with my hands mostly-- which gave me an interesting revelation when I started listening to lecture/discussion based podcasts. While there is definitely problem solving involved in the planning of projects and carrying them out, for a big chunk of the time working with your hands the intellectual side of your brain is sitting at idle.
Anyways, I'm really digging Dan Carlin's Hardcore History. I love his sudden and unexpected detours into intense detail that you often don't even realize is a detour until he neatly ties it back in to the main narrative with a point. Also, he has near perfect delivery for the content of the show.

This guy Ken M is a pro troll. I am thinking some FTR'rs have missed an opportunity
Fantastic JRE with a drug researcher. I like one of his lines near the end: if you've taken vicodin, percocet, etc, you've already taken a low dose of heroin. Learned some neat stuff here, much of which is knock-yourself-on-the-head sorta thing because the obviousness of it should be so obvious. Things like the claim that some drugs can be instantly addictive, which we all tend to believe, but is false

I'm trying to find and watch a decent spanish language show (sitcom, preferably) with spanish and english subtitle options. I've found a few shows, but can't find any torrents for them. anybody have any ideas?

I can't find the book recommendation thread so I'll just recommend 'The Stench of Honolulu' right here.

Just listened to that one at work today, it was good, though nothing really surprised me about it. I did like how carl was practical about the money being at the root of changing these things, and the power systems in place to reinforce the status quo are resistant for financial reasons so any change must involve providing them "money alternatives", though for groups like the for profit prison system & prison guards I'm not sure how that's possible.
fuck kidney stones.

Honestly, there's no going further guys. We've done it. Kudos to Russia for getting the ball rolling on nuclear world war 3 as it's just gonna get embarrassing from here on out.
that ep was pretty funny all around.
That's quote worthy :D
I was just talking with my sister about how it's high time we start getting into robotics because I'm pretty sure that in 20 years time there will be only two kinds of people in the world. Those who program robots and those who oil robots, and once they program robots that can oil other robots the second half is done for.
I for one would like at least another two seasons of rick and morty before robowars.

I really want/need to travel. Somewhere no one knows me, but I'm reasonably safe.
thaiiland!
The airplane ticket is like 1100-1200 bucks but after that everything's extremely cheap. You could bounce around southeast asia for 2-3 months for like 3 grand if you stretched your budget well. Even cheaper if you go with a homie and don't mind sleeping in a communal type lodging.
Last night I had a very vivid dream about a giant anaconda fighting a T-rex. I considered running but decided to stay and watch. I also met some old friends who all bummed cigarettes from me. The anaconda won.
oskar i'm pretty sure that dream just means you like gay porn
Tell me something I don't know.

I've heard a lot of negative stories about Indian people being really rude. Yeah I'd recommend Thailand over India for sure.
Fucking fuck. Spine specialist on the 8th, and I really hope they can help. Just ow.
Down to under 220 from a peak of 250. Probably at least 2/3rds of that is water, though. 35 more away from my goal of dat jacked 185. If I'm able to lift regularly again (doubtful, due to pain), I might be able to sit at 190 with sub-10% bodyfat. Rate of drop is about 2 pounds a week, which makes sense since I'm eating somewhere around 1k calories below maintenance. Maintenance is probably something like 2.7k-3k. Majority of diet is just salad with meat. It has the combination of the cheapest, healthiest, and tastiest I can find
Damn, u fat.
