Operation Be a Donator - Completed
Operation Complete! :shipit:
First, let me introduce myself since I’m new to FTR. I’m from Toledo, OH and play regularly at the Detroit casinos and a rotation of home games around town. Online, I play almost exclusively NL100 full ring on Stars. Once in a while I’ll donk off a few buyins at micro PLO or the 8-Game just to break up the monotony. Online volume is low, maybe a few thousand hands per month. I’ve built my bankroll mainly from live play, because well, live players are really, really bad. However, it’s fucking cold here in Ohio (and Detroit is even worse) so I’m going to try something different and hopefully have some fun. On to the operation...
I found out I had around $50 left from my last withdrawal on Cake, from the guaranteed donkaments I used to play. I’m going to turn that $50 into $1000 using an aggressive 10-buyin rule from NL4 to NL50. I won’t be using a HUD, because Cake doesn’t allow them and I’d like to force myself to pay more attention to the action, take better notes, etc. PT3 does import the HHs from Cake so I will be able to track my own play, and post them here in this thread.
For those who’ve never played on Cake, the software still seems a tad buggy, but it looks like the traffic is a little better from when I played there over a year ago. I thought it would increase a lot more with the addition of Doyle’s Room and all the other networks, but whatever. The real kicker is that this site is still packed full with weak-tight nits and fishy calling stations at pretty much every level.
At any rate, back to the operation. I’ve technically already started this $1K bankroll challenge earlier this week but just now decided to start a blog here to track this little fishing excursion.
So when it's all said and done, I’m going to take the entire $1K and donate it to the local humane society. I’d usually go buy a new flat screen or take it up to Greektown and lay it all on red, so hopefully the charity thing brings good karma. So wish me luck and hope I don’t go broke.
