I'm pretty sold on Rong as well, but not as confident anymore on Wuf. The "lynch me or look me up" hard line he took on Day 1 would be a pretty ballsy (and FPS) type of play for a wolf on day 1.

I'm down with either bikes or Gabe. Much prefer Gabe but either are better than wuf.

Look at how quiet it got when the focus moved to Bikes.
Interesting.
Fair enough. I felt like rong>bikes for wolf probability but given that bikes was my second or third choice, and the direction the village is going I'm very comfortable with a bikes lynch. Plus the value in lynching a wolf that has been less active probably does have more value. So if the probabilities run close, a bikes lynch makes more sense.
lynch bikes
Let's do it. bikes
I was thinking about this and I think if bikes flips village, keith and gator have to be wolves. Keiths justification post looked a lot like dribble. I'd put either gabe wuf as the third wolf.
Woah that feels kinda rushed but w/e. Bikes was one of my poss. wolves.
If Bikes is town rong jumps WWWAAAYYYY up on my list.
Yeah if bikes is town things won't look so good for me.

Narration pending...
The mood at the Gold Rush saloon had been somber throughout the day, but that was no reflection of the urgency felt by each Cast member.
To this point, the Wolves had not only managed to stay alive as an entire Team, they had also severely diminished the townspeople's numbers and shown an unprecedented amount of aggressiveness the night before.
The math was not lost on any of the Cast members either. The good guys only outnumbered the bad guys 2-to-1 at this point... whoever was selected as a lynch candidate HAD to be the right choice, or it would take a near-miracle to avoid total annihilation.
-----
bikes had distracted himself throughout the day by banging out a handful of simple tunes on the piano, but could see the writing on the wall after lunchtime.
BankItDrew was the one who first approached him after a consensus had been reached.
"I apologize if we're mistaken, but you appear to be the best choice in most of our eyes," he said ruefully.
GatorJH fumbled with his words, but managed a meager "My apologies too if we're wrong" statement before moving back toward the crowd.
Even the saloon's owner, Keith, came up to the musician he had hired years back when he only recently taken over the property. "I'm truly sorry," he said.
Doctor rong made his way to the bikes, who was beginning to suspect this may not be a typical lynching. "I voted for you too, son," he murmured. "Most of us will deeply regret this decision if it's not the correct one, but as the others have said, it's the best choice and we're sorry if we're mistaken."
scourrge was the final Cast member to walk up to bikes. As a rancher, he didn't have much use for musicians but still pitied this poor soul's fate, especially if it turned out the townsfolk were about to make yet another grave mistake.
bikes trembled as all eyes in the saloon were on him. "Aren't we going to the oak tree?," he asked.
Suddenly the Cast all grabbed lassos from their saddle packs and one-by-one, roped bikes by the neck, arms, and legs. Pulling with all their might, the horrified musician shrieked in pain.
Eventually his extremities separated from his body, which defecated uncontrollably on the saloon floor.
The deed had been done... now all the Cast had to do was look through bikes' belongings. Flipping up the top of his piano bench, they found a secret compartment with crude handwritten sheet music scrawled across a parchment.

Night #4 has begun!
Night #4 will last until Friday, 7:00pm Eastern Time (approximately 27 hours).

Wolves: Please inform me of one target player to devour via PM or Den post if you wish to act.

The Vigilante loaded his six-shooter with a single bullet, determined to put an end to the Wolves' streak once and for all and turn the tide in favor of the Townspeople.
There was no longer any need for pretense. He walked straight into the kitchen, where GatorJH was slow-roasting a side of pork for tomorrow's breakfast, and shot him dead as a door nail.
The Vigilante quickly scrounged around the silver utensils placed neatly within a wooden pantry, and discovered he had come up snake-eyes again. :(
The over-sized stir spoon tucked away near the back of the sturdy wooden closet was blue.
GatorJH was a Regular Villager
-----
The three Wolves moved quickly now. They had no desire to pillage GatorJH's body. All the information they needed to know was on the identifying token that the Vigilante had conveniently left behind.
They swiftly moved upstairs to where BankItDrew had set up his temporary living quarters within the hall's annex.
One wolf covered the Prospector's mouth, the other watched the door, and Wolf #3 squeezed BID's neck in between its jaws with supernatural force.
It was over quickly. A golden-tipped pen was discovered in BID's wardrobe.

100 years later...
It was 1949, and new construction was planned for a community near the desert-like hills in Western America.
An old shack was being bulldozed when the machinery's operator noticed a large, red-colored message sprawled across the wall of what used to be Gold Rush's saloon.
As the side wall hit the dirt, the Wolves' message (written a century earlier in human blood), gleaned brightly in the sunlight.

anyone remember if wolves have ever skunked the village like this?
thanks for modding dhuber, you did a fine job. and thanks to everyone playing
baudib and wuf, i gave u guys a hard time about some posts but it was all in the spirit of the game. im happy to play with u guys anytime

f u gabe. always out leveling me.,
new plan of attack is gabe is the new pelion.
fuck you scourrge. i only started suspecting you in the past day or so. gg.
Keith fucking owned it, easy MVP.
Everyone in the dead thread picked Gabe as wolf long before me. However, I had Rong as a villager and they all convinced me otherwise. I was SURE that there was wolf-on-wolf bolding/arguing going on.
Scourrge totally leveled me. If I had lived I would have never suspected him, even though his voting pattern was starting to look super wolfy. I just thought that, given the chance to put the lynch hammer down on me, he wouldn't hesitate if he were a wolf, knowing that I'd probably read him better than most. I just check-fold overpairs to his AA all the time but he owned me.
ggwp
not that it matters, WOAT village
Fuck that...RONG...WTF were you thinking????????????????????
doesn't matter, village would have never won this. we sucked.
Oh yah...Good game wolf people! You totally owned that village. Gabe & Keith, I had no f'n clue. Scourrge, it was clear that you were coached. Wuf...Love your guts, dude. Keep on keepin' on, bro...
P.S. Can't wait for Baudib to mod next!
Gabe, asking angel to protect you was a nice move. Rilla was 100% the obvious protect that night. Why would you need protecting as a claimed vanillager? Nice move anyway.
Great job guys!
Village has been skunked several times in the past. It happens often when the seer dies before revealing lookups
Honestly I think the biggest problem was the "team building" hunting strategy. I'm the biggest culprit of it, but it has never paid off and philosophically it shouldn't pay off anyways. The wolf team almost always makes the least amount of sense, and the only real way to find them all is to pick one off at a time. Wolf behavior tends to remain super hidden and solid until they start losing wolves or getting villagers killed to save wolves. For example, a lot of the stuff I said about Gray started becoming true about Scourrge during the Bikes wagon. If we had another day to look at it, Scourrge would have gone up on the radar quite a bit. Similar happened with Keith during the Bikes wagon.
Anyways, my point is that the only time the village wins is when they pick the wolves off one by one and reevaluate everything with each new game day. That's what we did in all the village games I've been in when we won and it was how I had to play personally
If we had stuck to this philosophy, I think Gabe would have been lynched before Bikes and we would have had a chance. I think I really screw things up when I try to overextend and find the teams prematurely. I do it because I get excited and the game days are too long for my tastes. Posts like the giant player evaluation one I made are a big problem. The player I wanted dead was Gabe, but that post helped nudge the rationale for Bikes instead
I have been fooled beyond measure.
also great job dub.
The wolves picked up Ong's crumb right away and the village didn't...wait till Ong reads the wolfden! That may have been the real turning point of the game. The wolves exploited Keith's fake read of Ong's lookup for at least 3 extra kills.
I disagree. Games the village wins are messy. Messssssyyyyyyy
Basically, in normal games where the village wins that aren't really imba or deal with a lot of luck, the village looks like it's on the brink of death for half of it. Finding wolves before the endgame doesn't happen terribly often, and wolves don't survive endgames that well. It wouldn't have to have taken much different things for Gabe to have gotten lynched instead of Bikes, and that would have changed everything. Even things that look like they're set in stone, like my "final" wolf team analyses, really aren't and they change a lot with each new game day
Pretty fun for a first WW game. Prob helps to be a wolf. Prob helps to be a wolf with 2 pros. Prob helps to sweep.
But it was damn fun.
Big thanks to dhuber for doing a great job modding.
The next player to evaluate a dead seer, is getting the rope, wp keith.
Village got completely owned. Was a helluva lotta fun though. Thanks for modding hub, and don't worry about me stopping rong from killing gator, we wouldn't have won anyways imo
Going through the dead thread: not a fan of that crumb for the Ong lookup. Signals are caught by wolves really well but they are also confusing for the village. The kind of thing to do is something that can't be seen until after death. If you look up a wolf, all you really have to do is try to get him lynched and try to come up with legit reasons why. After you die, the village will know that player has to die. If you look up a villager, just say you think that player is a villager in a more clear way than you say about anybody else. These are things that vanillas do all the time and wolves can't use to try to find the seer, but after the seer dies they're easy ways to make the lookups clear
Also I assumed Ong got nommed because of how he was playing. It was clear he was trying to shape up unusually
FWIW I submitted a list of early D1 picks to Dhuber and I was wrong on all the wolves obviously. I did pick Rong for special and Ong as the seer.
Half of the shady shit I did on D1 was to try to draw attention away from Ong. It's way easier to be a wolf in this game, especially if half the people aren't posting much. Obviously, I posted too much and too sloppily as a villager.
I wanna play nowwwwwww
BTW BID you played well. If you always played like this, I would have never said an unkind word about you
Sorry for tunneling you wuf, maybe I wont play so narrowminded next game
O.o You said I got coaching, and I pretty respectfully said I disagree - and suddenly it's "dude I owned you..."?? Ok. That's fine I guess. I wasn't picking a fight in the slightest. Feel like you're reading into my words too much - given how you said I went noob-nuclear before and now you're acting like I was really rude or something just now.
As for your read, yes you got it right - nice job, seriously. But virtually no one agreed with you until the end, and in a lot of ways that's just as important. I enjoyed myself playing - hope you did too. Cheers.
Don't follow basketball closely enough to know just how insulted to feel about this :(
As for why I didn't look for Ong's crumb, I assumed Ong wouldn't leave one like that since the wolves will almost always find it. I thought that he would think outing is better than leaving a crumb since, well, leaving a crumb is basically outing to the wolfden
I been telling ya. They ain't reliable at all. In this game I saw myself do like ten different things that could be considered POV slipsQuote:

I genuinely tossed a coin between gator and Keith. (gator was tails and that bitch never fails)
I had to shoot, I was such an easy lynch the next day anyway so figured I'd make the hero play.
And ong, Wtf, why play completely differently when you land seer?
Easy shoot from his perspective I think.
Finished the dead thread. Don't worry guys, I'm used to everybody saying how badly I play. It must be very frustrating to play with me since I'm quite aggressive and finger-pointy. A big reason I do it is because it keeps me alive since the village always thinks I'm just a mislead villager and the wolves think I'm a liability
But if we be measuring dicks here....
Nanny nanny boo boo
FWIW, I won't play another game like this. By "like this", I mean I'll be less defensive and won't extend speculation to the furthest I can and instead will just keep my reads tighter. That means I'll get lynched a lot and nommed a lot (as opposed to the virtually never that is now). I've always felt that one of my strengths is in being able to keep myself alive, because a villager thwarting everything off of himself really does raise the statistical favor of the village, but it's also quite a stressful way to play. And there's the downside that it makes me look really bad
Scourrge, imo you played great tho. I never suspected you for a second, not that I'm Sherlock or anything.
Heh I got the gist regardless :) But probz a good analogy. I had the easiest spot in this game. Wolf with 2 really experienced, strong players, and I could hide amongst other noobs as well.
A nub wolf who doesn't fuck up is really tough to spot.
I think Gray Key and Scourrge all played great, fun games. Really hope you guys play again
We were unnecessarily mean to a lot of players in the dead thread. lol. 5 dead villagers, with a lot more info than the rest of the village...knowing Keith was a wolf meant we knew we were in serious trouble unless a few miracles happened. I think most of our thread-the-needle scenarios involved impossible things, like Gator figuring out Rong was a wolf, or Gabe being a villager and keeping secrets to himself in order to own the wolves in the end game.
Part of the reason we thought Rong was a wolf was that he seemed to pick up the Keith read out of thin air. Good job by Rong and Gator for being suspicious of Keith, I couldn't read the dude to save my life.
Luco had great D2 reads of Gabe = wolf, Gator = villager. That ended up being a great nom.
my favorite part of the dead thread was at the end where Keybored hero reads Scourrge and Rilla and I told him how silly he was. I did start to realize how uber wolfy Scourrge's voting pattern was, but I couldn't shake the belief that he'd lynch me if he were a wolf.
Day 2
Baud said: YAY THANK GOD I'M DEAD. It was obvious having my status confirmed was way more important than anything I could have done alive. I hope the information from this helps. If it ends up some combo of Gabe-Rilla-Ong-Scourrge-Keith are the wolves, the village will lose.

I know it's early D2 but I think gabe rolled wolf again. Gator is harder to read when I'm not in the game but leaning vil, I also have drew / wuf / baudib / rilla leaning vil based on a quick read through, although I had to basically ignore 90% of baudibs posts to condense the thread into something readable.
Edit: I see ong agrees with me on gabe :)Edited 08-21-2014 07:18 AM
sick read
We've all done it. I think it's really easy to think people are wrong and dumb when you think you're right and smart. These games are usually so whack that everybody ends up being really wrong about a lot of things. A big part of the game is arguing about logic. It's one person saying another person's logic is stupid and that person saying the same of the other. After everybody does this a million times, if they got luck on their side and have been sufficiently boxing the wolves into a corner, they can win.
One example for why y'all thought I was stupid and wolfing: the stuff about Ong's crumb. Well, to be perfectly honest with you, I wasn't interested in looking for a crumb because I thought Ong believed the same thing I believed, that if you put a clue in your post, the wolves will find it and you will die. Another is how my responses to Keith looked like I was wolfing. Yeah, because his points were weak, and we know now they were weak because we know he was a manipulating wolf. But if I'm assumed to be a wolf, it will look like Keith's points were stellar
Perceptions can be deceiving
I hope to participate in a dead thread one day.
yeah that's true. I also still don't think the village played well. I arguably played worse than anyone.
Looking back at older games, even from this year, i'm surprised how much more aggro everyone is early in the game. Jyms was spotting wolves left and right on D1, and there are tons of people openly treating players like wolves on D1/D2. Obviously people were wrong a lot, but they were right a lot. Putting pressure on people seemed to be the norm, I'm surprised how much it has changed.
Dude you've been in like five
I could have once, when I was lynched Day 1, the game after I was a wolf and somehow blocked a night nom LOLOLOL
I was too pissed to wait for other dead people, so I just left FTR for a month.
