PokerStars Weekly News Update 7/02/2012

1. With the Micro Millions coming up July 12th, PokerStars has decided to offer a deposit bonus option. Between now and July 22nd, players will receive a $3.30 tournament ticket if they deposit $20 or more into their account. The only stipulation is you have to use the code MICRO when funding your account. The ticket can be used on any of the events, as well as the $3.30 mega satellite to the Micro Million II Main Event.

2. Canadian players will be happy to hear PokerStars is sponsoring the Stardust Canadian Poker Classic. Players can qualify through PokerStars for the $1,100 Main Event. The series runs August 17th - September 3rd, with the Main Event kicking off on August 30th. Players can reach the Main Event for as little as $2.55 or 200 Frequent Player Points.

3. Team PokerStars member Vanessa Selbst has done it again! Selbst, who is chasing Kathy Liebert for all-time earnings by a female player, won a 2nd WSOP bracelet in the 10-handed $2,500 Mixed-Game event. The victory netted her $244,259, and further cemented her place as the best female poker player in the world.

4. Speaking of PokerStars at the 2012 WSOP, five Team PokerStars professionals ante'd up the massive $1,000,000 buy-in to the "Big One". Daniel Negreanu, Jason Mercier, Bertran "Elky" Grosspellier, Eugene Katchalov, and Jonathan Duhamel are all attempting to win the incredible $18,346,673 first-place prize. The tournament started yesterday and should come to an end tomorrow. Unfortunately, only one of the five still remains, as Jason Mercier has become Stars only hope at winning the Big One.
