I've never modded a game, but I'd like to give it a shot.
I was looking for something a bit different and came across the Pick Your Poison Setup.
Pick Your Poison is an Open Game Setup. In it, the Wolves choose three roles out of five before the game begins to be given to the village. Here's the link on Mafia wiki.
This setup will maybe give the wolves a chance for a win here on FTR since they get to pick the villa PR roles.
It's designed for 13 players.
Start when filled.

I've played this before, and it can be a lot of fun. Its one of those setups where the mafia have to designate who kills who, and we dont know if a death was the result of a mafia kill or a vig kill. Its neat. I love not being told which roles are in the game too, cuz it allows more squabbling over claims.
I didn't read the NK that way, but I like it. One thing from the wiki that I'd change to is that wolf chat would be 24 hours rather than just night chat.Quote:

Personally, I don't enjoy the breaks between days, for wolves to chat and sort things out, and for specials to submit their submissions. I'd prefer to keep that period as short as possible. 12hrs?
the shorter the nights, the worse it is for the village and better for wolves. it's probably a good way to handicap our villages. the previous game may be an example of how it does handicap the village given how much gabe's lynch was a slam dunk yet it almost didn't happen.
the way in which it handicaps villages is that villagers need mental reset more than wolves because they're the detectives.
I could run it as 1.5 (36 hours) or 2.5 (60 hours) long days and 0.5 (12 hours) nights, depending on how long people want the days to be.
My vote would be for 2.5/0.5
I don't like 12 hr nights, I think wolves should have 24 hrs to ensure that time zones and tight IRL schedules aren't problems that seep into the game. If a wolf is incapable of getting into the den in a 24 hour period, tough shit. But 12 hrs is tight, even I can be afk for more than that long.

So if there is a vig we dont know who was a vig kill and who was a wolf kill?...also size of wolf teams? 3? ...and are we using the roles on the mafia page?
Ya, the tracker role and jailkeeper role both utilize this change in NK. So the tracker might see that BID killed JKDS, and the tracker then has to play a guessing game of whether BID is a vig or wolf. The jailkeeper can likewise prevent the NK entirely if he gets lucky and picks the wolf that was gonna do it.Quote:

I think theres a page on MS somewhere that talks about order of operations for trackers/jailers/cops/etc, and also covers their interactions. Like, what result does a Cop get when the Jailkeeper blocks him? Or the result when the vig and mafia shoot each other. Idk where it is tho
I'll wait and see what the consensus is on day/night lengths.
I'm looking to run the game as described on the wiki with the following exceptions (subject to change):
- Flavor is changed from mafia to werewolf, because this is a werewolf site, not that mafia ****.
- Wolves will have 24 hour chat rather than just night chat.
Also, no flavor to be provided on night kills as to whether or not it's a wolf NK or village vig.

Then you gotta determine who was killed by who. In this example, its pretty clear that Luco was killed by a vigilante, since luco was a wolf. But if he was a villager, then we wouldnt know who killed who and would have to figure it out.
