Panther's pick up two Auburn players (besides Cam Newton) and a CB from UNC so far. It's like they're trying to intentionally piss me off.
Edit: As if they weren't doing a good enough job of that already.

A lot of NFC North fans in here!?!?!
In WI here, but Bears fan... (used to work for Bears)
Hoping the front office doesn't royally screw this short pre-season!
Between Rice and Gallery, this was a good day for us. After reading/listening to a bit more about Tarvaris I'm not quite as down on him as I was. Not that I necessarily expect great things out of him, but it does seem like he got a bit of a raw deal in Minn.
It's still hard to see Hass gone, but the facts that he didn't sign in the division and will be a good mentor for Locker make it easier.
How can the Jets entertain the idea of getting Nnamdi Asomugha? I thought they had cap troubles in getting their receivers? Isn't that why Sanchez was talking about restructuring his contract?
Also will I go to hell if I root against Tebow?
glad chiefs picked up breaston
Cardinals give up huge bounty to acquire Kolb | ProFootballTalk
Looks to make the Texans the most likely spot for Nmandi Asousiusohgoighoifjf... (yep, i nailed that one)
Kolb might turn out to be as good as people think, but I'm sure glad we didn't try to outbid them for him.
Wow... Ochocinco is headed to New England | ProFootballTalk
and Bears trade Greg Olsen to Panthers | ProFootballTalk
But Chad to the Pats... pretty sick.
Think the Eagles got a good deal, 25-year-old former Pro Bowl corner + 2nd round pick is pretty sweet.
plus it looks likely that the Eagles will go after Vince Young. That's a relief, because I think I would actually panic if the Eagles didn't have a black QB.
close the afc boys pats have it this year
If they get a QB.
LOLOLOLOLOL
Now sign Tulloch and demolish the league.
If Jets sign Nnamdi = all green Super Bowl.
Wow....Haynesworth and Ochocinco...wtf is going on...
if anyone can get those two slack ass motherfuckers to play it will be bellicheat. just adds to my hatred for the pats.
F yeah!!!!
JONATHAN JOSEPH
DANIEAL MANNING
FYEAHAHHHHHHHHH!!!
must...temper....texans....enthusiasm....!!!!
(bad things happen when texans fans expect too much)
is Eric Wright any good? I'm not really familiar with him
He basically became the whipping boy for angry Browns fans last year. Part of it was deserved (getting scorched for 3 TDs vs the Ravens) and part of it became exaggerated and drunk fans everywhere would throw him under the bus regardless of what actually happened. e.g. TJ Ward was out of position a lot etc.
He's a very talented player though and was considered one of our better players up until last year. Solid tackler, solid cover guy and I wanted him to be re-signed but it's probably best for all parties involved for him to go in a different direction. Solid low risk signing by the Lions IMO.
Hmm well, I guess that's fairly encouraging.
nnamdi asomugha is a philadelphia eagle.
WTF.
Ship the Lombardi Trophy now.
Thanks DropTheBanana.
@fauxjohnmadden: NFL Network's Albert Breer reporting the Jets are out of the Nnamdi Asomugha sweepstakes. I'm guessing Rex Ryan didn't like his feet.
My take on Eagles moves:
Nnamdi -- killer move, totally did not see this coming after they got Rodgers-Cromartie. Assumed Kolb trade would be THE big move of the offseason.
Key point: Eagles commonly refer to the third CB as a starting position. So I don't think a trade is necessarily in the works. They tried to make the 3 starting-caliber CBs work before, when they had Sheldon Brown, Lito Sheppard and signed Samuel. But Sheppard was unhappy and that gummed up the works. They also had 3 good corners for years with Troy Vincent, Bobby Taylor and Al Harris, who once led the NFL in pass deflections as a slot corner.
The Eagles use at least 5 DBs on about half their plays every year, sometimes in exotic ways -- 3 safety formations are not uncommon. As Nnamdi and DRC are good press corners, I could see them using those guys to lock up the wideouts and using Samuel as a roving DB/"Robber" type player. Samuel freelances a ton in coverage anyway, often switching receivers when he's got a read on the ball.
Still, the Eagles have their slot CB, Joselio Hanson, signed to a long-term, cap-friendly deal. He's not an impact player, but is good at what he does. They also have a corner they drafted last year, Trevard Lindley, that they supposedly like; plus they drafted a CB in the third round this year. Wouldn't mind seeing them flip DRC for an equivalent linebacker.
Jason Babin Was with the Eagles two years ago and didn't do much; had a huge year in Tennessee and is reunited with his line coach there, Jim Washburn.
Vince Young I like him more than Kolb for this team and this offense. If I had to choose one guy to build a team around for 5 years, I'd take Kolb. If I had to choose a guy to be a backup to Mike Vick and throw bombs to DeSean Jackson, it's VY. The Eagles know how to develop quarterbacks.
Right now, it looks like Casey Matthews is the starting MLB.
so if the eagles dont win the superbowl this year how quickly does philly call for the head of andy reid?
Much of the fan base has been calling for his head for several years now.
and now cullen jenkins is going to philadelphia.
Why'd the Texans cut Okoye? I think I'm hoping the Hawks take a look at him.
TOM BRADY
Eagles signed OL Evan Mathis, not a big-name by any means. But in reading about him, a lot of people tagged him as a super sleeper FA; one report said he made Bengals' OL instantly better last year.
That really shores up the Eagles' only real weakness on offense. LG Todd Herremans could move to RT, a likely improvement over Winston Justice, who is on PUP list right now. Also insurance in case first-round pick G Danny Watkins doesn't sign right away.
Wow at us cutting Lofa Tatupu over $2 million. He's def got durability issues, but was the unquestioned leader of our defense. Any team with a Dline that can offer him some protection could have a hell of a player there.
boo sidney rice and ray edwards
yay mcnabb
randy moss retired etc
Tweet from new Eagles DT Cullen Jenkins, re: Dallas defensive coordinator Rob Ryan referring to them as the all-hype team:
One of the new Eagles apparently heard about Ryan's comments and responded. Here's a Tweet from Cullen Jenkins:
Talk is cheap. Let them talk. We are focused here and I could care less. We are worried about ourselves n getting better. He must be nervous
comment on philly.com:
It is so annoying when people say they "could care less." That means they care, at least a little. Say you "couldn't care less."
annnd the eagles have ronnie brown now
in other news:

The Eagles should split into two teams and meet each other in the Super Bowl.
Well this seals it, looks like the Eagles have no chance.

We doing a survivor league again this year or not so much?
I'm game again... if we can come up with payment options. Would people be against sending physical checks to one person and that person sending it out. It's really no different than PS, etc. I'd be happy to hold the money if people are game, or ship to lee, or someone who is a long-time FTR member.
I would be up for a survivor league, but obviously online pay is off the table, and there is a 0% chance i'm sending a check to anybody
bragging rights are more important anyway, right?
Eagles sign WR Steve Smith (the other injured one formerly of the Giants)
pats resign mankins TOM BRADY will be protected
LIONS! MATTHEW STAFFORD! SUH! CALVIN JOHNSON! TULLOCH!
Ship the 9-7 record.
So how early do we predict Matthew "glass cannon" Stafford goes down this season? Someone needs to set a line imo.
Let's bet dinner in vegas 2012 on stafford games played vs bengal wins, you can have whatever side
TOM BRADY
Big Sick Prediction:
Texans win the superbowl :D
No way lions make it to thesuperbowl this year, but if we post a winning record its a massive improvement.
Bikes: Ill prop that stafford doesnt miss a game due to shoulder injury this season.
Anyone have the Lions game online?
No.but im listening on 93.3fm... Lions up at tje half, 24-3
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP)—Ndamukong Suh(notes) was fined $20,000 by the NFL on Wednesday for a hit on Cincinnati quarterback Andy Dalton(notes), the third penalty of its kind for the Detroit Lions defensive end in the past year.
Suh didn’t like it much: He responded on his Twitter account before practice: “$20,000REALLY???!!!”
hey fuck head stop trying to kill qbs
Video: Ndamukong Suh Gives Andy Dalton The Jake Delhomme Treatment - Pride Of Detroit
There's the video, since I posted that without actually knowing what we were talking about.
Serious comment is this: It's lame that that hit is a penalty, but it's close and understandable. It's pretty lame that that hit costs 20k. It's really lame this is the state of rushing the passer in Goodell's NFL.
I'd be really interested in seeing what the modern NFL would look like without helmets.
he latches on to his head, dalton throws the ball away, and then he rips/jerks/body slams him the other direction like 2 seconds later, of course that is going to be a pentalty and a fine.
the "hit" on delhomme last year was even worse. it was actually 3 penalties in one: a blatant facemask followed by a hit to the head followed by (again) a body slam to the opposite direction AFTER the ball was released.
some of what the nfl has been doing wrt player safety might be going overboard but rules to penalize/discourage these types of plays are sensible and good for the game IMO.
it's not close at all the ball is away and he still slams him to the ground by his helmet.
i see lukie has already beat me to this
I'm not going to try and defend the Dalton or Delhomme hits because both of then were bad and clearly deserved a fine (the Culter fine on the other hand was bullshit). However, I don't think Suh is a dirty player and I love the way he plays. There was nothing premeditated about either of those hits. If you've ever seen Suh give an interview, he's one of the most intelligent and level headed NFL players I have ever heard speak. So while those hits turned out pretty ugly, both of them were a result of him giving maximum effort and aggressiveness on every single play he lines up for and nothing along the lines of him going into the games thinking "my goal this game is to injure the quarterback".
Bro, every defensive linemen is pretty much coached to kill the opposing QB from college on up.
http://i.imgur.com/uq4qa.jpgQuote:
something csb?
Suh gets his arms on the QB as the QB throws the ball. If Suh doesn't know this (possible), and there was no whistle (there wasn't), he's got to bring the guy down. He does swing his hips and bring the guy down, but it's not that hard. I didn't recognize the first time I watched it that he grabs the head, though. That does pretty much make the difference.
oh is that what csb means.
:cut: whyyy drmcboy whyyyyy
with the speed of that play there is a vvv good chance that suh doesnt know the ball has been released.
it depends why you posted that. but there are no reasons that would not be clowny. Bengal fans know we suck, no I don't want action on this bet, no it wasn't funny, yes I just want an excuse to hang out with bikes/plant the seed early that he should be at the WSOP.
I remember you and that's why I get sad internet you is not up the same standard.
Just looked at the Suh on Dalton hit. Looks like a pretty blatant/obv. penalty/fine but I don't think it's necessarily indicative of a dirty player, there are probably 20 dirtier plays every game (of course most involve linemen and no one cares about them).
Yeah, baudib has it right. It was aggression without awareness and awareness builds as a player matures.
