Last friday night i tried acid for the first time and holy fuckin shit did it blow me away, I think it was the most fun i've ever had just wondering if anyone else has ever done it and im sure some have, also any advice if i shouldn't be putting shit like this in my body
Um...I'm a grandfather so I can't possibly have done any of that stuff...in the past decade or two anyway.
It's relatively harmless in its pure form (like you could tell if it wasn't) but some people do not react to it well every time and freak out.
Best advice: stay away from it.
Second best advice: just remember that you are the one in control of it, it is never in control of you unless you let it. It's a mind game. Uptight people with issues should never ever take it.

The only thing I can throw at you is be wary of this stuff as it is very powerful. It actually changes the physical state of your brain. You also have to be careful not to do more than you can handle or it will really fuck you up. A buddy of mine did a quad for his first time and it truly fucked him up. It took 10 years for him to become 90% normal again.
Also, if you do it too many times certain effects become permanent. A lot of people experience seeing trails for the rest of their life.
Basically dude, this is a super fun drug but it is crazy. There's a reason it's only kids doing it. Adults have at some point seen the really bad side of it. Just do shrooms if you need a drug like this. The might not be as powerful but they don't carry the same risk.
Or be a man and drink for your kicks. No more of this pansy-ass drug shit.

If you use it recreationally you should be fine. As the article says, it's not physically addicting. I've seen studies say it's not mentally addicting, but I had a couple friends that had a mental addiction.
Galapagos's friend probably had a hit laced with something else, especially if it was a gel or tablet. LSD does not permanently alter the brain. The only drug I'm aware of that does that is DXM which is in cough medicine. It is very powerful, with the effective dosage being ~100ug, where Psilocybin takes ~100mg (1,000 times more).
The actual medical affects are really sketchy because the government banned all study on the drug in the 70s when they made it illegal (they were afraid the communists could use it for mind control).

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone over the age of, say, 25. By that point you've done too many fucked up things and had too many fucked up things done to you to enjoy it with the clean slate you need. I think it can be really great developmentally for younger people, as it encourages you to think in shades of grey, not black and white. I agree with this statement. The age "25" is not really important itself. It's different from person to person, but the idea is that I'd not recommend this class of psychadelicss to anyone that isn't "young", or rather not to anyone that is "too old". While I've had a few bad trips on shrooms, I've been lucky enough to only experience good onces on acid. That was 3 years ago though. The loss of some naivity, increase in concern for my health, and general increase in negative thoughts about the world since then (i.e. a natural maturity in the understanding of world politics/dynamics) has made it likely that that if I took acid now I'd have a bad trip. And the fact that I believe this makes it definitively impossible for me to have a good trip on acid (ah, suggestibility).
And also because I've already tripped a few times in the past, I would benefit from it much less now than I did my first few times. There are extensive diminishing returns in the lessons gleaned from psychadelic of the tryptamine variety (e.g. psilocybin, LSD, mescaline, DMT, etc...). My mind has already been opened and I've seen, understood, and experienced some amazing things. And I've learned a lot. More would be as incredible as always, but not as generally helpful to expanding my understanding of consciousness, thought, experience as a concept, and humanity.
Also, to those people that are saying to stick to shrooms because acid is too much--what the hell are you talking about? At the right dosage, they are both, like all psychadelics in this class, ridiculously powerful, none moreso than any of the others, and none should be toyed with (i.e. they should all be taken very seriously). And bad trips are just as likely on any of them.
On a more pragmatic level, erowid.org is by far the best resource out there that I've come accross for drugs of literally all varieties. Before trying any new drug, I always spend hours on end researching it, and a good two thirds of it is usually done at erowid.
Oh yeah and also, drugs are bad.

A few already beat me to the punch, but i'd like to reiterate that the 'do shrooms, not acid' stance is terrible advice. The bad trips on shrooms are slightly rarer, as oppposed to acid, but incredibly more brutal.
I've had two different friends who were acid veterans (5-6 hits at a time) before they decided to try mushrooms, and had painfully bad trips on them.
This notion prevalent these days about 'natural' (whatever that really means) being good is so convuluted; I reaaly enjoyed the poison ivy analogy.
Personally, I'm waiting for the time when everything is synthetic, and the whole world is paved over and metal plated.

Ive did shrooms alot of times (their was a period i did it twice a weak)and acid aswell,but this one was the most freaky trip ever.

Ive never tried acid, and wouldnt (I dont do drugs anymore). The craziest drug I tried was Salvia Divinorum extracts.. I actually started a few websites selling it online whilst at uni so I didnt have to work (i dont bother selling it any more tho).
Its legal in most countries.. it sends you to another place for 3 minutes.. the scary thing is you forget you've taken salvia and dont know wtf is going on, your just in a different, fucked up reality. You no longer see anything through your eyes, the vision you would normally see infront of you is completely replaced. Youre seeing from within your mind. Its on the same kind of intesnsity level as DMT.
My advice is dont ever try it, its hardly ever plesent - it will tear you to the depths of terror and chew you up. It may be enjoyable if you meditate alot first and got into the right mindstate of wanting to leave our everyday relaity and explore elsewhere. Otherwise you wont know what the fucks hit you :evil:
I disagree with this. Everyone's different. I've used salvia about 10 times--a few 10x extracts, some 20x extracts, and once a 30x extract that I made myself--and yeah, it was really fucking weird, definitely the most bizarre drug I've ever tried, but it was always pleasant for me. And it never made me scared or terrified, though I did often lose my sense of self or became something else. Once I became a luminescent line darting through space. Once I became part of one of the legs of the chair I was sitting on. And another time after gravity shifted towards the wall I fell leftwards and when I landed (on the wall) I instantaly became a schoolteacher from the 1940s. And salvia is the only drug I've taken that let me speak to a physical incarnation of god. But unlike tryptamines, I never felt enlightened by salvia, even after speaking to god. It was always quite a fun and strange trip though, and since it only lasts 5 minutes there's no need to get wrapped up in a day-long committment that feels like three days because of time dilation.Quote:

Allright, last night I did acid for the first time and expereinced one of the most intense times of my life. I have only had 3 hours of sleep since the trip but hopefully I can write coherent enough to convey the amazing night that I went through.
It all started out when at around 7:00, my friend calls me up and asks me if I want to go to a rave with him and some other of my buddies. At first I am reluctant, I had not planned on this, and I had family visiting me on sunday. I recently have been trying to cut back on my MDMA use and being at a rave is all too tempting.
So I responded with a no. For the next 15 minutes I sat on the couch agitated, watching TV, thinking of all the fun I could have at this rave compared to the normality of a weekend night in a college town. I finally give in and excitedly tell my friend that I will be attending with them but I will not be dropping that night.
I pick up some cigarettes, a fifth of vodka, and a large quantity of energy drinks to keep me charging the whole night while my friends are rolling. With everything prepared the excitement is starting to creep in. My friends and I are blasting trance throughout the house as we wait for the other car load of our friends to arrive.
Finally after an enternity we hit the road and journey out into the back roads where the rave is located. All I know about the venue is that it is outdoors and there are 2 stages; it is a 3 day event and many people will be camping out for the whole weekend.
Upon arriving at the location it is dark so I can not quite appreciate the surroundings I am being emmersed in. On the way out the next day I was able to see the majesticle environment. We had turned off the highway into what appeared to be a community of crop growers. Many large houses lined the roads with massive amounts of growing areas and ranches stabling horses, llamas, and miniature ponies. The community had its own pool and 2 full sized basketball courts. Driving through the buildings we encountered a large psychadelic looking statue towards the middle of the community. We drove through all the buildings and continue on to a small dirt rode which we proceed on for about 2 miles. The road is long and trecherous, we gain altitude quickly and are always bordered on one side by a large cliff.
We arrive at the location and see people mingling among each other in a community of tents set up. An outdoor stage is also in the process of being set up. We soon learn of another stage just over a hill that is over looking the area where most people had decided to camp. My friends all dropped ecstasy and I happily sipped on my bottle. The music was good (I also found out that this was more specifically a psytrance party) and the people were friendly, however I start to feel tired around 1:00 in the morning. No matter how many energy drinks I consumed I could not seem to prevent my eye lids from drooping. One of my buddies seems to notice my struggle and asks me if I want to do some 2-CI or acid. In my drunken state I decide that it would be a good time to take some acid. My buddy takes me to someone who has some gel tabs ( I think thats what you would call them). I purchased two of them and started the insane adventure that has lead to me here typing right now.
I disolved one tab under my tongue and waited for the results. At this point I really had no idea what to expect. The first thing I noticed was the increased vibrancy of colors, the black light backdrops behind the DJs took on an eerie glow, and seemed to draw my eyes to them every time my vision flashed over their approximate location. After about another half an hour I disolve the other tab and eagerly await the upcoming results.
At this point I sitll do not know what is about to hit me. The increased vibrancy of colors but lack of artistic visuals made me think that I would not trip that hard.
Soon after the second tab had disolved I started experiencing the body high or fry as most trippers call it ( I think again, sorry, I am not too up to the acid sland and terminology). It almost felt as if my body was weightless and as I was walking around, my body was just reverberating off the ground. I felt free and walking was extremely satisfying to me for some reason.
The trance at times seemed to overtake my body and I would lapse into a state of euphoric dancing with the bass pulsating throughout my body. Under the influence of LSD I seemed to pick out certain small effects in the music that made the experience seem so much fuller to me.
The visuals then soon after kicked in. My first clue that the highly anticipated part of my trip was about to begin hit me. The night sky was amazing, being so far from a town lead to a massive amount of visible stars, the milky way was even partially visible. Throughout the night shooting stars had every now and then streaked across the sky, but at this point of night it seemed as if my periphrial vision was picking out shooting stars every time I looked. Tiki torches seemed to dance and flare much more than normal in this state of mind. Shadows loomed and seemed to change shapes constantly.
As my trip increased in its power the stars kept capturing my gaze, at times it would almost seem as if the entire sky was streaking down at me. At this point I was tripping very hard. I was with another buddy who was tripping and two other friends who had dropped and been doing heaping amounts of 2C-I. We ventured from stage to stage, back and forth exploring the landscape that we inhabitated.
I felt as if everyone I interacted with was a person but there main meaning to me was just as part of the landscape. It almost seemed as if I was walking through a dream world with nothing being real. Walking up the hill to get to the other stage was intense, the hill seemed monstorous and extermely steep. Upon reaching the top it was amazing to overlook the stage area, it seemed a very fitting reward for the hike up the hill. I remember staring across the landscape at the bordering hills and mountains, the outlines of these physical features seemed to flicker in my eyes, this amazing effect constantly held my gaze captive.
My friends and I soon picked out a spot which we refered to as our trip point. It was located directly between the two stages and you could look down over a hill and see the lights of the first stage. The music from both stages collided at this point and reflected off a brick wall further away from the camp site. This lead to an extremely trippy sound. From this point the stars were also highly visible and trees stretched out on either side of the path. I was very content sitting here and staring at the surroundings.
Around this time the sun was starting to raise and me and my buddies sat upon a huge hill to watch this impressive event. This was truly amazing, the sun slowly creeping up behind mountains that stretch as far as the eye can see, bathing the sky in light morning color. I am still tripping hard and the sun light is very vivid. At one time three jets are visible in the sky and their jet trails seem to be cutting a chasm into the air. The hills and mountains are bathed with light and it seems as if the pine trees that line them are melting away and reappearing.
At this time we find a bottle of tequila and start killing it. The alcohol seems to even me out and my visuals start to recede. My body is left with an extreme burnt out feeling very similar to what I would feel after rolling when I was rolling extremely heavily for a year straight. My mind is still extremely active though and I am wide awake.
We have a hookah session with someone that we had me the night before, the tobacco is refreshing and very tasty. When I stare at the reeds of grass underneath my feet long enough they start fluctuating and swirl similar to the visuals that shrooms give you.
After smoking we mingle with some more people and chill out and listen to the DJs morning trance. The music is mellow and fits the mood perfectly. It is incredible to see the area that I had tripped so hard the night before in daylight. I explore around and connect certain areas to parts of my trip.
At this point is when I realize just how amazingly beautiful the environment that I am in is. In every direction hills stretch as far as you can see. We are on one of the very highest hills in the location so we are looking down on everything. It is a breath taking view.
My buddies and I decide to explore even further and we go on a long hike and find a couple small lakes on the property. After hiking and relaxing by the lake for a couple hours we head back to the scene of the party. After talking to a couple of new friends we decide to head out.
The drive home is almost surreal, I take in the surroundings with amazement, nature seems so beautiful in my state of mind. We see many very old modle cars on the ride home and at one point we see a man hiking up the road in an all white robe, a huge cross dangling from his neck, and a large staff in one hand. This all completed my amazing expereience of the night.
I would have gladly stayed for the whole weekend but I had arrangements with my family. Also I am not sure if I could possibly hang for another night. My trip was very exhausting mentally and physically. Upon reaching home I kicked it with my friends for a while before falling asleep for three hours. I woke up and here I am typing on my keyboard, trapping my memories on computer to share with you.
