I think that the 70% (which is obviously an average) takes into account that the guy might not pull out perfectly every single time, but I'm not sure. Too lazy to look. Usually the % you see in stats doesn't take into account human error. So condoms are really only 97% (or whatever the number is) in theory. In reality they're probably only like 85-90% effective because people don't always use them correctly or they break etc etc

Pretty much any sex statistic in a health book is a blatant lie meant to promote abstinence in young people. For example I was taught in grade school that if you have sex with a person who has HIV you are automatically slam dunk 100% fucked. I really don't get how you people can be so dense. I'm not looking to trick myself into thinking its ok just because it feels better. Several people keep using this 70% statistic and have no clue where it is from or how the researchers came to it. If they are including dumbfucks who haven't done their due diligence, then the success rate could be drastically higher for people who are "doing it right." Why is this so hard to grasp?

I was just running through some monopoly odds and came across a few interesting tidbits:
the red set actually has a higher expectation than the yellow set when fully developed. this boggled my mind at first.
in particular, a hotel on illinois avenue is better than any other property except for 3+ houses on boardwalk. it's about the same as pennsylvania avenue and both are better than park place. 'better' in this context is defined simply as highest expectation paid per roll, without taking into context game situations. in practice, getting paid more frequently has further benefits.
obvoiusly there is the advance to illinois card, but there has to be some other factors too (they weren't listed on the site). e.g. 14 squares away from jail (7 being the most likely roll), gets the most hits from jail-goers besides the orange set, more likely to get hit from pennsylvania railroad, etc.
also, as anyone who has ever played monopoly surely already knows, the orange really is the most useful set (taking into account many factors, it may be different in a specific game).
