Villain is std. 50NL tag who steals a lot. TBH, I didn't 3bet because he folds a lot to them. How bad do you think this is? Not just preflop. Should I ever just be calling his flop bet? He has a straight a lot more often than two pair or a set. AA I guess he could have but I would think that's rare to want to get it in after the action.

dont hate flatting PF esp. if you've been screwing around with him on a lot of flops.
Yeah, I was debating the size. Then I was like wtf he can have some much shit that I beat so I'll pot it.Quote:

Yaah the raise is a bit big, maybe to $10ish is ok, but the rest is fine.
I 3bet pre like 90+% here but don't mind mixing it up once in awhile. Always raising (maybe not quite this big) and stacking off on the flop. I think you're even and possibly ahead of his range since it includes QQ/JJ for sure and maybe KQ/QJ.
I am trying to get ALL my hands onto the same database from two computers but I have to leave this computer and won't be back until at least a few days so might as well post two graphs just to kind of prove things to Griff and show my progess. HEM is tilting me hard right now. Really thought I lost all my hands in my database.

http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/2706/nov1zn7.jpg
Pretty happy considering I was breaking even at the first part of the month. After about hand 3400 is when I started going back to a much better style of play imo. The times when I was losing after hand 3400 were mainly me just running bad and either not hitting huge draws or losing 70%+ equity hands so can't complain.
Will post my other graph/hands on my other computer tonight as well with a month summary and hopefully will find time to update the 500th thread post I have been meaning to edit.
I'm a fucking idiot and thought I played 2k more hands this month. I play on two different computers since I have to be at my apartment as well as my parents' house off and on and I left my apartment thinking I played 13k hands when I only played 11k. This leaves me with 19k hands played this month and a loss of a prop bet with Griff. Griff was very kind enough to allow me to only pay half which I am embarrassed about. Here's the whole results:
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/845/novgraphsp7.jpg
http://img89.imageshack.us/img89/321/novhandsfp8.jpg
So as you can see my won money without showdown went wayyyyyy downhill as the month went on but I also started winning a lot more. I think this has to do with playing a very weaker/tighter style that produced less variance and relied on playing pots primarily with the fish IP as opposed to the regulars. I also understand that this shouldn't be right completely and I am missing out a ton on some crucial spots.
Here are some things I learned this month:
1. Never ever underestimate the value of having fish sitting to your right.
2. Leave when the table gets filled with semi-decent regs, it's just not worth it to win the ego war.
3. After playing a short session and you find youself having lost money that has nothing to do with bad play/tilt, recollect yourself and continue to play more hands as long as rules 1 and 2 apply.
4. Playing tighter preflop, at least how I have been playing, causes less variance but most likely causes you to miss out on value in other spots. I need to find a medium.
Lol, you're coming back to my (well my usual not right now) style of play ;).
That rakeback line doesnt apply to your winnings? i.e., you won approx $500 and earnt about $750 rakeback?
yo Kmizzle i heard you were planning to get a computer
dude get a dell (studio 17, big, damn nice, and cheap)
Ben - nope :( . I won like $750 including rakeback. But I mean half of the month I was playing a lot worse so I will take it.
Jack - check your PMs :)
Wow - I am an idiot AGAIN. I did my filters/whatever wrong and I DID make my goal of 20k hands and I wasn't crazy thinking I played more hands than I did. Whew!! This is a $100 mistake that I am VERY glad I figured out. Still feel like a douche though, sorry griff, much love. Also shows more than 2 more buyins won and rakeback will increase as well. Actually just checked and I made virtually $250 in rakeback making my total of this month about $950.

Man, so close to a $1k month, and at 50nl. That rocks man. Your win rate wasnt even that high. Crush Dec!!
Thanks man. Don't think that Dec. will get anywhere near $1k. Really trying to take the pussy/safe route and focus more on the end of the semester and friends and family. Will be taking a bit out of the ole' roll though :(
I could quote my last entry. Definitely not going to be near $1k this month. I played maybe 400 hands. Totalling like $300 though which is goot. I flip good mainly ($100 from playing wrecklessly in FTR games).
I just ended my semester - 4 Bs and one class has yet to announce grades but it will 99% be an A or B and 75% chance it's an A. Not sure how I pulled that off considering how infrequently I spend my time studying/actually attending class/etc. Also, been spending a lot of time with my family and friends.
I leave for home for good probably Thursday (awaiting a package from FullTilt for my headphones) and will have a month of freedom. I already got my big present early which is a new Dell computer (thank you all who voted for Dell when I asked advice) and it's pretty sick for what I want it to do. The only problem is that I am still computer retarded and cannot figure out how to set up wireless internet with it. And yes, I did buy a wireless card for it. Because of this, I WANT to sweat/talk poker a whole lot during my break. I cannot and do not want to let my spare time go to waste. Pleasssssssse sweat with me and make sure I stick to these goals. I also got 3 books from PS a few weeks ago which I may have already mentioned in another post so I hope to read at least one of them because I get so distracted and finishing a book is a major accomplishment for myself. The books are The Mathematics of Poker, No-Limit Theory and Practice and Professional No-Limit Holdem. I need to actually start reading not only these books but every other poker book I have.
Congrats on grades, computer and vacation. Theory & Practice is such a good book, I've read it like 3 times at least.
Thanks zook!

That was sweet. First dude who raised me was really aggro towards me so thought he had an even worse hand then what he ended up with. I just AK < 55 vs. an unknown on an KcTc5s board :(. HEM is saying only up like $23 though this session but thought for sure a lot more. Sigh. Definitely lost like $30 "making sure my reads were right" because I haven't played in awhile. Basically that just means me calling river shit seeing that they never really do bluff.
Going to get a coaching session done tomorrow. Should be fun!
Ok wait wtf HEM doesn't have the HH displayed above. How does that happen and how do I get it in there? I just did auto-import and it said no new files. I played at that table for a few more orbits.
Define "making sure my reads were right." Is that a clever way of saying I knew I should have folded but I didn't?
Basically me saying "I really don't care about the money, I BET HE HAS AJ HERE LOL!!" and then he insta shows I was right and my ego goes up. BR goes down though.Quote:

GL man. Been away for a few days, and only home for 2 then away again. From about the 27th though I should be home and have plenty of time on my hands. Definately up for some sweat sessions.
Niiiice. I just went on a quick life tilt as I was trying to hook up my router and ruined my family's internet connection. They were mad ld0 but I was pissed because that meant no poker, no werewolf and no coaching sessions with zook for awhile as he leaves for vacation and then comes back to a real job :(.
I also have been wanting my Christmas break to jumpstart my poker "career" or whatever because I shouldn't have to withdrawl for awhile due to Christmas money and living with my parents because I'm obviously down like $250 paying for like half of my computer/my Christmas present. Here's to me somehow getting my router to work and me making monies.
Oh yeah, at least I got to basically finish Professional No-Limit.
Good luck with the jump start!
I'm in colorado for the week, visiting my mom. I gotta decide if I want to tell my mom or not while I'm here... hmm so might not play this week!
have an awesome xmas dude, fix the net! imo
Grifffffffffffffff such a tough decision. I can semi-relate. My parents don't know much about me playing either except that they now accept it and I pay for stuff now because of it. I think in your case you may have to keep it a secret still unfortunately. I can see my parents going apeshit but seems like yours would go 5 levels higher...at least your mom. Good luck with that man.
Hope you get on MSN a lot this break. ALSO LET'S SWEAT! Have a Great Christmas!!
Yah dude.. I'll be on msn quite a bit. Colorado is boring sometimes!Quote:

This is by far the only reason I am a winning player. But, yeah, playing somewhat shitty lately mixed in with some coolers imo. Getting coached right now by sootedpower at DeucesCracked. One session and some talks on skype/email and he seems to be pretty solid. I'm working a lot on double barrelling with some pretty decent results. My red line looks a lot better than the condescending 45 degree angle.
My goal this winter break was to easily make $1k but blah that's not going to happen. I'm more focused on playing better.

EDIT 2: HEM lost some HH again it looks like. I should be up around ~$130.
Just had a 2hr session with tcblade's protege and learned a lot about cbetting. Basically having equity in some way is crucial. Now I understand the c/f a lot of flops having a small PP with all overs on the board.
He also told me some interesting minraising spots that I have to think more about as I am way too tired.
Played a 77 hand session. I had one failed 3bet, one failed 4bet and then another 50bb sized 3bet pot I lost with TT < QQ. Shitty session right?

Sorry guys that was a 71 hand session. I lied, as evidence shows I was 6 hands off. But I DID listen to you all!!!!! Finally, a much longer session:

TY FOR MAKING ME PLAY A MARATHON SESSION!!!!!
Rofl.
Whoaaaaa a BEN sighting!
How many tables are you playing (at once), kmind?
Negative 1.
Aka all the recent posts by me were a joke. I tend to play quick sessions, especially if I gain a lot of profit because I am scurred moniez. I just feel like it's more to make sure I have that money in case I need to withdraw and it allows me to go "whew" when I end up messing up later that day since I know I made some earlier.
But to answer your question, anywhere from 4-6, 6 usually and maybe like 20% of the time playing 8 or 9.
But it is true that I don't play nearly as much as most people, especially the Canadian ballllllas who replied to my session.
Ok so the past couple of days I have strictly played 100NL FR. My observation so far is that there are tons of fish. Way higher ratio than a 6max game which behooved me. I had to say behoove because I said it aloud today for the first time. Anyways, the regs that do play remind me of 25NL 6max players so far. That said I am down probably $135 so far. It sucks because I lost a lot at 100NL 6max leaving me down around $450 total in the past couple of days. The reason I am doing so poorly is getting bad beated and coolered imo. I showed the hands in my tilt thread. It's just unreal TO ME the luck I am having at 100NL. Really sucks to go through this while moving up. I'll probably continute to play 100NL FR for a little until I lose maybe 5 at most buyins. But that all could change. I hope to play some 6max 50NL too.
I hate talking about bad beats and stuff but this is the recent news for me. Really sucks because this winter break was my either break out or fall back for another 5 months attempt as I was living at home and didn't have to pay for much. Looks like 5 more months of 50NL. Sweet.
100NL FR is a fucking joke. They are so fucking bad. I'm running like shit down $700 the past 2 days but they cannot be any worse than 2NL players.

This is FR not 6max. Not sure if you were chatting with me but I was playing like 12 or so.
and yeah really.
didn't search ya, so had no idea that you 12-table full ring - makes sense that you missed my comments in chat then!
as for the quality of play, 100nl >>> 2nl.
Kick some FT-fullring-nit arse yo!
oh my bad...what's your SN there? I talk in the chat only if it's people I know or if I am tilted.
I know it's a lot better than 2NL but I am more than tilted right now. I also wasn't trying to downgrade any FTRers at 100NL which I noticed may have came off that way. I meant that the regs and fish I play are making seriously HUGE mistakes. I am trying to refrain myself from posting more of these HH in my tilted thread but it's insane what they'll do. I've had two guys flat my 4bets with me having AA 100bb deep and shipping the flop with their flopped set on YXX boards with Y=broadway and XX=low cards. Another just flatted a 4bet after chatting "lol" yet I was bluffing ld0 and he took it away on the turn with another "lol". I really think he thought I was a fish and making a small 4bet was the fishiest thing he has ever seen or something. Then I have wild "regs" calling my steals with pretty marginal holdings and hitting big time. And it's like whatever I do, someone will have a semi-tight range and then I'll hit a decent hand too so it's like well fuck and then he'll end up pwning me with a slightly better two pair and so forth. Then I flop two pair and bet flop and bet/fold bank turns because they have sets always and he obv. shows and types something in the chat about how he's gotten "2 sets in a row!!!!!". These are the regs wtf. And the hand I posted in the FR thread: I was an unknown and he calls his stack with AJ? Wtf. I'd never call there, I mean I think the only hand that I rep that he beats is a FD and that RARELY should happen too. His hand is a bluff catcher for sure but it's really weak in that spot.
I'm going back to 6max for the most part or just taking a long break. Poker is fucking with my mind. It's my easiest/least time committment way of making mandatory money for myself, but at the same time I am seeing how unhealthy it is, especially without any real life friends who play nor know I play. I am finding myself with the worst attitude lately towards my friends and family and this weekend was supposed to be a great way to end the winter break and it turned out like shit. This, going along with non-poker bullshit, is really irritating me. Blah, trying to think of a way to say "fuck you" to everything but nothing is coming to mind. I think I might have realized to stop getting into my habits of letting all this shit take over my mindset and persevere through it all. It's like my old, usual ways of fixing my problems are actually making things a lot worse in the long run and are only temporary solutions to something that will inevitably happen again.
Poker sucks
fucklife

Ok so the slowrolling douche from my Tilt thread accepted any challenge I can come up with against him. I shipped him a 2+2 inbox cussing him out and venting to him. Do I let this slide or what? I have complete confidence I can beat/crush him in 6max/HU and most likely FR at any stakes he chooses.
Without a doubt I'd challenge him to mid stakes HU match and then get ISF to play on your id instead.
play him while being sweated by someone real good - at stakes you can afford
edit - i just saw that it's that roosk guy - he used to be terri-bad but has got a lot better. I have no real idea how good you are so can't comment on whether going to war is a good idea. From the small sample size i have on you, it seems you haven't quite adjusted to FR after playing 6-max. I doubt roosk plays much/any HU - and you've played a bit I think? so that's likely the best arena to play in. Although, chances are if he's a 2+2 reg then you'll end up playing him and some IM buddy of his
looking forward to the trip report ;)
Just to let you know he's not a 2+2 regular. Only 6 posts and barely logs in.
Daven what's your sn again at FT? (PM or whatever)
Baudib whattttttt up I see you at my tables. Hope you are pwning it.
Smallish update - grinding back again. I have some kind of cool hands I guess from today. Still running below EV :(. Still down on the month. Currently getting coached still by sootedpower and then good chance I get coached by ISF. I switch coaches too much imo.

School started Monday. I haven't gone yet mainly because of my/the "First Day of Classes Never Involve Roll" rule. Seems they always pass out the syllabus and that's mainly it. I probably just jinxed myself. I cannot go to sleep at night. I am on the 5am sleep/2pm wake up schedule. That NEEDS to change.

Haha yeah I was on this too during winter break but eventually I just stayed up until 8 pm or so and got back on a normal schedule. Skipping classes for me is -EV because it makes me feel bad about myself, especially at the beginning of a semester when I'm not sure which classes I can skip and which classes are actually worth it to attend.Quote:

Btw, sorry about needling you in your tilt thread with my winning hand. I've been hitting way the good side of variance since I moved up and you seem to have hit the bad.
All good about my tilt thread shipppppppppppppp fuck poker sometimes it's all good.
I still seem to have difficulty going to classes :(. I shipped some nyquil last night though and got some good sleep.
are you better yet?
YES. Just pwned with 30% equity!
Back in the green this month imo. Played a little over 850 hands at 50NL today (well past 25 hours). Big heater.

HOLY SHIT MANG!
EIGHT HUNDRED FIFTY FUCKING HANDS
you dont say? nice graph tho
Nig wtfffff there's like no good tables at all during the day + school + other activities gives me a shitty amount of hands.
We never talk anymore :(. You and Is need to get fucking AIM. Even though I don't get on there much anymore.
Update your blog.
Shippp the 6 buyins!
Get your ass on msn.. for realll
AIM eh.. we're canadian up here!
how's the coaching?
kmind better be in vegas this year!
Izzzzzzzy - GET AIM STOP ARGUING GOOD LORD! And coaching (by sootedpower) was going well but cancelled my recent schedule times because I was in tilt mode. I'll resume them soon though. ISF will be sometime in the future maybe? Not really sure.
CC (ship the same initials) - I WILL DO EVERYTHING I CAN TO BE THEREEEEEEEEEEEE. That said, chances look slim :( . I want to so badly man you have no idea.
Aim? I havnt seen you on Aim all week!!
I want to say that's because I am grinddddding but that's an easy lie :(
I need to get my ass on there more, I know. I was out of town last night but still no excuses. I will TRY to get online tonight.

what's pidgin?
lol 10nl.. ownageee
It's just like Trillian and runs both AIM and MSN + others at the same time.
I feel like I should think of something to post here since I can't just chat about computer programs. Hmm...I'm taking a little less hours at school this semester than last = more playing time? Doubtful. Hmm...been thinking a lot about Vegas and am really hoping I can meet up with some drunken FTRers sometime this summer (I don't drink ftw/ftl however you want to see it). CR keeps messing up same with Stoxpoker with their trulyfreepokertraining thingy so that's kind of a downer but it should be fixed semi-soon. Speaking of training, the group sweats in the BC looks like it might be a decent idea. Yeah that's all I can really think of.
I've been trying to make 10NL and 25NL videos recently and post them in my blog and show how aggro. you can be at those stakes but camtasia keeps messing up. I have a 50NL video that I am like 50/50 on. Really no true playing lately, just not really in the mood. Made probably $100 making those videos/fucking around at lower stakes.
That needs to stop somewhat though. My goal will be 20k hands at 400NL this year or bust. OR BUSTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!
lemmeeee seeQuote:

Thats funny, I've been sent no links to download said vid...
I hate you all. This video isn't that great, it was like my 2nd ever. I think smaller stakes plus me going aggro. would benefit more people. I haven't watched most of it either so I forget if I did anything stupid besides play wise.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WGJXYCKC
On another note, I am doing quite well at 50NL this month. I have almost reached my highest BR ever in which should allow me to play very comfortably at 100NL all next month. By writing this, expect a huge downswing.
I broke a girl's jaw today at dodgeball.

Not too many comments.
I'm kind of meh with 3betting A3dd OOP in blinds, since you're gonna get dominated often. I guess it's ok if someone has been ramming on your button lots.
You really need to fold that 46o to the min 3bet. The guy only has 30bb stack, so you dont even have crazy implied odds if you do flop some miracle. You have really bad reverse implied odds vs a shortstack if you spike any kind of pair on a low board.
watching now, but prob have to watch in parts since im waiting for gf to bring her cinema.
About halfway through atm, I'll try to catch you in Aim to chat about some specific stuff, but a general point. You dont seem to be identifying when/how people are playing back at you.
In the 2nd part, you're running 50/50 on the top left table and a TAG is 3-betting you about 80% and you cant work it out. Its because you're running 50/50 and folding to all his 3-bets! Only time you've played back is with AKo (and he folded). You say you cant work out why he's 3-betting you when you're raising UTG, but would you give a 50/50's UTG range much respect?
Likewise bottom left table. Doctor Fish is calling you a heap PF and donking postflop and you continually fold to his donk bets. I think you're missing a little HEM thing here, because every time he donks you check his postflop aggression popup stats and decide he's not that aggressive (definate leak that you havent realised he's donking you almost 100% just by paying attention), but if you instead look at the popup stats for one of the cbet HUD stats, it gives you his stats for v's PFR and instead of seeing his postflop bet% you'd be able to see his postflop donk v's PFR % which may have alerted you to what was going on.
Good replies from all. Thanks a lot!
Ben - I definitely need to work on my thinking in that no one EVER puts me on a range/tries to exploit me other than raising cbets on dry boards shit.
Grif - I'm horrible at the min3bet crap because in my eyes we have direct odds to call, no?
Unfortunately, I am running like shit the past two days but only played verrrry few hands. I think I have learned a lot this month. And not just things that are making me play better, just random crap involving me and playing poker. That said, I do think I have learned a lot though which is helping my ability. I keep having dreams and shit about going to vegas this year and playing in one tourney. I figure this could be my "long term" goal this year. If I can't get enough money to actually buy into an event, I may just go because I need to fucking travel and I have a few friends that will be playing in a few events so maybe I can crash with them for a week or whatever.
My short term goal is to play at 50NL until Feb. 14. Valentines Day means the end of my 50NLness and I should have a solid bankroll to not just take shots at 100NL, but stay there, regardless of withdrawing some money. It's definitely come to my attention that I cannot put in a lot of hands most days because of other crap which is unfortunate for poker but good in away because it will mean I'll be active and have a social life. Also, next fall I am thinking about going back to living with my parents until my spring semester. This would do wonders for my BR and playability and all that so hopefully I can really take charge then but I don't want to think too much about the future and just be like "fuck it, I'll just wait until Fall when I know for SURE I'll have a sweeeeet BR". If I have that attitude, I'll know I continue to stay at annoying stakes.
mehhh reverse implied.. especially with nonsene hands like 46o. At least have it soooted so you can shove and have some fold equity on a decent number of flops. Though I think these should all be folds really, especially to a shortish stack.Quote:

I've been playing some today with some ok results. I was down a little but got it back up. I feel REALLY bad though because I accidently slowrolled some dude for his stack...I waited until 4 seconds left BUT I didn't notice the board had paired when I had a set (so full house) and the only hand I was worried about was a straight (which he had). I was sooooo close to mucking haha. This was fun:

Nh sir. GL getting to 100NL for good.
Thanks Illfavor! But I think you jinxed me my man.
Anyways, running hot and then bad right now. I managed to get my BR to its peak and then drop like 4 buyins. I'm also getting hit in the head with variance and I AM MISCLICKING/READING THE BOARDS WRONG NONSTOP. I will not rant. In fact, I am down like $200 today but am not really mad. I don't think I played too terribly bad except for a few hands which were misclicks or me being a dumbass at reading the boards so I feel like I can easily crush 50NL. It sucks because in the day all the tables are like 23% vpip while at night you get some huuuuuge donks.
I'm talking to Ben (bjsaust) right now about a prop bet for Feb. I am going to have to limit my bets to only him as I want to reallllly focus on moving up and not worrying about silly bets.
EDIT: Ok here are the rules:
Prop bet between kmind (Casey) and bjsaust (Ben):
1. If either person doesnt play at least 12k hands in Feb they owe $100. If both play 12k or more they owe nothing.
2. During any week (Sun - Sat) within Feb
a) If Ben doesnt do weights four times and cardio three times he owes Casey $50 for that week
b) If Casey drinks soda (1 free drink for month) or eats chips, and doesnt do 50 pushups and 50 situps on 3 days he owes Ben $50 for that week
3. At the end of the month, whoever has won the most (not counting rakeback/bonus or tournaments) is owed $50 from the other person.
