You know you want that dot.
Okay with 7 days left of the month that gives me a week of grinding left. I will aim to grind out 40 hours.
I'm going to make an attempt to log my sessions and post those records here. I will be keeping track of session length, hands/hour, MT ratio (average # of tables), and number of hands played. I will not be tracking results. What I hope to get out of this is practice grinding (ldo) and work towards increasing my MT ratio and consequently my Hands/Hr which should start making me more money.
I'll start with today's sessions (will update as they finish up)
1) 2.05 hours ; 9.13 MT ratio ; 1,244 hands ; 607 H/Hr
2) 2.28 hours ; 8.86 MT ratio ; 1,443 hands ; 632 H/Hr
3) 1.50 hours ; 7.34 MT ratio ; 785 hands ; 523 H/Hr
And that's it for today. My first 2 sessions were played at 100nl FR and my final session was a mix of 200nl FR and 400nl FR. Overall my focus was super sharp during my first session. Second session focus still remained fairly solid. Final session was so so, which in a way blows because I decided to player higher stakes during that time. I felt a bit sluggish/tired but tried to force myself to play well and things ended up alright. There were a couple pots where I made some mistakes but overall not too bad. I'll keep those spots where I messed up in mind the next time they roll around.
I'm pretty happy how today went. I got in 5.83 hours and am about 15% of the way towards achieving my goal I set. This should be pretty easy as long as I keep at it. Will do the same sort of update tomorrow.
Here are today's sessions updated as complete:
1) 0.83 hours ; 7.78 MT ratio ; 529 hands ; 635 H/Hr
2) 2.02 hours ; 9.13 MT ratio ; 1,356 hands ; 672 H/Hr
3) 1.28 hours : 10.77 Mt ratio ; 970 hands ; 756 H/Hr
Today wasn't bad for progress. Hours were a bit on the short end but I went out for awhile so that cut into grind time. I'm really pleased with working myself up to breaking the 10 table average mark. Hopefully I'll be able to work on turning over the lower ratio sessions into >10 ones. It's a work in progress and it already feels like I'm making progress :). Now that I've finally gotten some sort of goal system to follow that doesn't tally up money earned I feel as if I'm playing better and handling coolers/losing pots much better. Keeping too close an eye on your $/hour or how much you're up on the month can only lead to tilt once you start running bad imo. So far this little system has been working well and I feel good about it so I'll have it continue.
I may or may not get a chance to play tomorrow since Jerry Seinfeld is coming to town and I have tickets to his show. In which case Sunday will be a busy one at the tables.
4.13 hours on the day puts me at 9.96 total so far. A couple behind pace but I'll be looking to catch up as the week goes on.
Alright I didn't play at all today but went to see Jerry Seinfeld's live show and man was it good. I'm obviously behind pace for 40hrs in 7 days and unfortunately this week is crazy busy for me. I have my grandparents coming over tomorrow for dinner, then Tuesday is my brother's grad so I'll have to go out to dinner with parents/bro/his gf then to the ceremony then Wednesday a friend from Toronto is visiting so more grind time stripped. So things aren't looking to hot for grind time however I'm going to try and work around all the upcoming events and get this shit done anyway because it's doable, I'll just have less time to laze around.
I certainly should be able to post 40 hours a week of playing in the upcoming months where I'll be taking only a couple 2-3 day vacations here and there, and therefore should be able to achieve my volume goals. If it means a couple 10 hour days here and there, so be it. Peace nigros.
ohai. About the July prop... I see we play a similar amount of hands/h, so we can prop on that. I would just bet on who has more at the end of the month. I'd still rather bet on hours played but whatever.
we could do hours played if you want since that's the real challenge for me
cool. Ten american dollars to the winner? I'd prop up to $100 if you need more incentive to beat me :D
$100 to whoever plays most # of hours above a given stake - 50nl? 100nl? I'll do 100nl minimum if you are going to play that enough to make it fair.
Today's sessions:
1) 2.78 hours ; 10.02 MT ratio ; 1,987 hands ; 714 H/Hr
2) 1.80 hours ; 11.15 MT ratio ; 1,382 hands ; 768 H/Hr
3) 1.50 hours : 6.39 MT ratio ; 886 hands ; 591 H/Hr
That's all. Too tired to write anything about how it went so I'm gonna enjoy a Heineken then hit bed.
Total's so far for 7 day recording:
16.04 hours, 10,582 hands. Not bad for missing Saturday I guess. I would have played longer today except I couldn't log a session till 8:30 since my grandparents were visiting. I should be able to get 8 hours in tomorrow so that will be my goal.
Today's sessions:
1) 1.58 hours ; 10.03 MT ratio ; 1,224 hands ; 773 H/Hr
2) 3.52 hours ; 10.32 MT ratio ; 2,505 hands ; 712 H/Hr
3) 2.22 hours ; 10.55 MT ratio ; 1,583 hands ; 714 H/Hr
Totaling at 7.32 hours and 5,312 hands today was quite the grind. I think I played a bit tighter than usual and misplayed a couple hands, though the general concepts where the mistakes from today are rooted from have been going over my mind so I think I'll be ready to play those particular spots better in the future.
If you won a pot from me today I hope you get aids. fml

sure.
I don't think we need to get our lawyers in on this. most hours played at 100NL+ in July. I've been playing some HU sng's lately currently $50-$80BI... I'll prolly move up or quit depending on how I run... but the 50 ones already play like 100NL in terms of variance. If you don't want to count that I don't care either.
gogogo!
I'd wish you good luck but I have money on this.
Goals for June:
1. Kill oskar in our prop
2. ***No looking at graph until end of month***
That is all.
Maybes you should stop living in the past and try to pwn him this month.
Today's sessions:
1) 2.33 hours ; 7.65 MT ratio ; 1,378 hands ; 591 H/Hr
2) 2.10 hours ; 7.37 MT ratio ; 1,090 hands ; 519 H/Hr
3) 2.15 hours ; 7.65 MT ratio ; 1,063 hands ; 494 H/Hr
I'll only be keeping track of sessions played above 100nl since that is all that will count for the prop bet I have with oskar. I'll keep a running total each day of my hours played so I know where I stand. Also daven I can't bet on that, too likely to fail.
Today's hours: 6.58
Monthly total: 6.58
Today's sessions:
1) 1.85 hours ; 7.30 MT ratio ; 1,018 hands ; 550 H/Hr
2) 1.63 hours ; 9.52 MT ratio ; 1,044 hands ; 639 H/Hr
3) 1.80 hours ; 7.54 MT ratio ; 957 hands ; 532 H/Hr
4) 1.55 hours ; 9.55 MT ratio ; 1,071 hands ; 691 H/Hr
I have a brutal head ache (hence the shorter sessions today) so I'll just leave it at that.
Today's hours: 6.83
Monthly total: 13.41
I just came here to say I didn't play a hand yesterday and I'm 5h ahead... just to crush your spirit :)
And I'm pretty sure I'll spend more time swimming around with the fishus than playing with them today as well.
But GJ on the consistency. And I recon you're ahead in $$$ :(
Today's sessions:
1) 1.95 hours ; 8.14 MT ratio ; 1,147 hands ; 588 H/Hr
2) 5.50 hours ; 8.51 MT ratio ; 3,201 hands ; 582 H/Hr
3) 0.53 hours ; 5.63 MT ratio ; 196 hands ; 367 H/Hr
After putting in a beast >5hr session I started session 3 but couldn't pull through with it so quit early.
Today's hours: 7.98
Monthly total: 21.39
Today's sessions:
1) 1.78 hours ; 7.31 MT ratio ; 920 hands ; 516 H/Hr
2) 1.15 hours ; 6.23 MT ratio ; 517 hands ; 450 H/Hr
3) 1.43 hours ; 11.13 MT ratio ; 1,071 hands ; 747 H/Hr
4) 2.32 hours ; 10.53 MT ratio ; 1,712 hands ; 739 H/Hr
My red line really goes down when my MT ratio goes up (missing spots to steal/following through less on bluffs), though more vpps towards my milestones is certainly enticing! I think it's good I'm keeping a mix of some sessions where I play fewer tables and then random mass sessions.
Today's hours: 6.68
Monthly total: 28.07
so i think i seen your ptr garf... looks like yesterday was not a terrible day.
Forgot to post yesterday's sessions, so here they are:
1) 2.60 hours ; 9.11 MT ratio ; 1,792 hands ; 689 H/Hr
2) 1.05 hours ; 6.89 MT ratio ; 536 hands ; 510 H/Hr
3) 1.55 hours ; 4.71 MT ratio ; 545 hands ; 352 H/Hr
Today's hours: 5.20
Monthly total: 33.27
Today's sessions:
1) 2.90 hours ; 4.46 MT ratio ; 874 hands ; 301 H/Hr
2) 2.47 hours ; 6.13 MT ratio ; 1,042 hands ; 422 H/Hr
I didn't play many tables today because I was jumping around 400nl-1000nl and trying to focus on the action. I played okay overall. Was pretty tired but managed to not lose too much money :P. I'm going to pass on updating my operation until Saturday night and just consolidate all my sessions into one list played since Thurs. Sunday I'm leaving for Niagara falls where I have a booked penthouse suite at Four Points overlooking the falls for the lady and I. Fake it till you make it imo.
Today's hours: 5.37
Total hours: 38.64

Probably not.

Derived from the world of chan, nou is the universal comeback to any statement when one has no intelligent comeback, or simply wants to be an arrogant asshole. It as an acronym for No you, or no u.
Unlike the famous "lol" or "omg" this word has a very poor chance of being remembered as an internet acronym, so stop using it. Gaia fagggots.

We need to finish that sweat sir.
Bonjour!
July is over for me regarding the grind. I played well this month but didn't put much volume in due to being busy alot.
My plan for August is to start distributing my volume more towards mid stake games and steer out of small stakes. I'm going to aim to play at least 45,000 hands of 400nl or higher. The rest of my volume can be made up at 100nl or 200nl. This is only going to be like 1500 hands a day so if I'm playing short sessions on a low number of tables it's really doable. No need to even mass table this. Then I can just 10-16 table small stakes when I'm not as sharp to minimize variance and stress. Easy game.
Also gonna prop with yaawn for hours played. Both of us must get >120 hours to chop. If not, $400 comes out of the losers pocket. If we both lose I guess its a chop too, but a pathetic one at that.
Good luck! Sounds like I may well be seeing you at the tables in August.
So a little life update. I decided to not eat McDonalds for the entire month of August. So far so good. I just bought a Wok today to cook up stir frys instead of eating burgers all the time. I hit up an chinese supermarket as well and got tons of ingredients to make some kick ass food. Tomorrow night I'll be going to the gym with my bro around 9ish then when we get back we're going to make some chicken chow mein - om nom nom nom.
I don't really cook so it should be interesting to see how this turns out.
I love this blog a shitload...and for some reason this update was more interesting than any of your others (not to say your poker updates suck). I like to see life updates. Good luck bro...cut McDonald's out of your diet. Eat vegetables and leaner meats. You'll be less tired and it'll probably translate into EV in your poker game.
Psh, fuck that noise. I'm eagerly awaiting the day McDonald's offers delivery service so I never have to leave my home again.
Oh and go to Waffle House!
Delivered McDonald's breakfast >>>>> Waffle House.
lol
so I made my first stir fry last night with my bro. chicken chop suey ftw.
took us about 2 hours. we are both cooking noobs and didn't realize how much preparation was needed for chopping all veges/marinate chicken/ etc. plus we were a little slow transitioning to the next step once we finished something because we had to keep reading over the instructions.
we cooked the noodles, bok choy, and chicken all separate which was like 10min each or something before mixing it all together (adding beansprouts, veges, sauce, peppers, etc) for the final cooking/stir fry which was another 10min or so. plus the noodles were pre cooked like halfish before stir frying so there was another 10min. then chopping everything and making the sauce took up some decent time.
I think it will go a lot faster the second time around since we know the process, and I think chop suey is one of the more tedious dishes to make since it involves a ton of prep. fried rice should be fucking cake compared to this. overall results were stellar. shit tasted amazing. the marinade recipe for the chicken is fucking baller I'm pretty much using it for any dish involving chicken I make in the future. we sort of fucked the noodles up a bit (didnt cook them long enough) so they absorbed most of the sauce and held it whereas if you get chop suey at a restaurant the sauce will sort of be sitting at the bottom of your dish because the noodles aren't soft enough to absorb all the sauce (I think?) since if you cook them longer in the wok they get crispier (I think). you could argue it tastes better the way it turned out though since you get a good bit of flavor in every bite. we're still getting through leftovers before our next cooking sesh this weekend. stay tuned to see what we make next!
Ahahaha Imade a stir fry in like 20 minutes last night. micro cooking to macro cooking, M goes from cooking toast in 3 hours to cooking gourmet meals in the flash of a second, so fucking sick.
Buy frozen stir-fry.
Buy McDonald's delivery.
Stir fry should be alot easier than you're making it. Try something easier to start with like beef w/ broccoli. Stir fry should be cooked in layers so cook things that take longer first (meat) and then start adding other shit in (broccoli then bokchoy...). Cook some white rice to put the whole mess on. If you're down with hot shit you can never go wrong with a little cock sauce.
http://t2.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:A...30lylu1pOjbY8=
Thats right, I said cock sauce!
so I've been thinking alottttttttt about poker lately and I can almost feel my game changing each day.
I'm starting to think I'm nowhere near my full potential, which is definitely a confidence booster because there have been times where I couldn't see what I needed to do to get better.
That's some funny sh*t.
Was checking out the blog. Looks like good times, Micro.
So, I was hypothesizing what this new abbreviation I've never seen / paid attention to "MT ratio" might mean. Like, maybe "max twat ratio" and measures the total douchebag-ness at the tables while you're playing? Or "mean toothache ratio" and measures how painful it is to grind through cooler after cooler? Or "massive tunnel-vision ratio" and measures how many good opportunities you missed by being a bit dim (like me)?
ahaha good to see you around robb
sigh. 8 tables max for awhile and no more chasing losses on tilt.
well I haven't updated this in awhile so I suppose I'll throw in a quick one.
My gf and I just bought her parents a 37 inch HDTV for their 40th wedding anniversary. It may sound like quite the loot for just a gift however her dad doesn't work and is home all day and the TV they have in their living room is dying pretty hard. Pretty perfect time for an upgrade. I feel really good about the purchase, mostly because a lot of the money I have made from playing poker has just gone to myself (traveling, clothes, electronics, entertainment etc) so buying something for someone else is pretty self fulfilling, especially when I know they will really appreciate the gesture.
As for poker lets just say lol swongs. I've dropped about 2k this month at 3/6 but that's really nothing relative to the buyin (not even 5 bi's lmao). It's gonna hurt my monthly bottom line, which in the grand scheme of things means absolutely nothing, and therefore I shouldn't even be concerned.
Court date for my speeding ticket is Wednesday, I'll update after on how it goes.

Rofl, they think that until he proposes.

oh yeah and my speeding ticket was reduced from $200+$20 to $90+$25
shippppppppppppppppp itttttttttttt
$90+25! how much commission do these bastards take! obviously +EV to just pay the bigger one and only pay 9% commish
