This seems so easy, yet so hard to accept. I have this same issue when I do my geneaology. I have this big magnificant(spelling?) drawing of my whole family, that goes back generations, and generations. Then I married my wife, who was Adopted. her family tree,(blood) is just her.
so I have this same feeling, it's so hard to describe and explain. If that makes any sense?

Can someone provide evidence or some kind or reasonable explanation for how we were 'created'?

God is not just *allowing* the animals to starve as that is the natural order, he is *causing* them to starve.

2) People who say that the universe needs to have a beginning but that God doesn't are engaging in special pleading. If one can always have existed, the other can too.

Let's not forget the horrible job God did on the eye.. the wiring actually comes out the FRONT - the reason for the famous blind spot we all have - but if he had just let the wiring come out the back of the eye, now that would have made sense..

I just had a discussion with my mother who is a Jehovahs Witness, I asked her about the ARK and all the animals, she told me there wasn't that many animal breeds back then, so then I said well " how are there so many breeds now?" and then she said well they inbreeded kinda..
And also if Jehovah said that's what happened then I believe it.

Also, she said Cain had sex with a sister, and I asked if it was ok then to have sex with your sister? And she replied that NO, they were close to being perfect at that time.

So my other question now is?
If God is perfect, and he created Perfect people in the begining, How does someone who is perfect, SIN, when they are perfect?

note to dawgs about being no evidence for macro evolution. Remember reading in New Scientist (granted biased towards evolution), that fossils were found of a fish that had like little stumpy things that lay on the beach (for sum reason i cant remember cos i was stoned) for periods of time. easy to see how the transition occured now, (and thuis one fo the biggest macro evolution steps)

lets translate this back to Hebrew: "Was" in Hebrew is "Hayah" (pronounced haw-yaw' ) and it means "to become" or in this instance we english speaking persons would say "Became".

"Form" in Hebrew is "Tohuw" (pronounced to'-hoo) and it means "Confusion, empty place, without"

"Void" in Hebrew is "Bohuw" (pronounced bo'-hoo) and means "to be empty or emptiness"

So it is written "haya tohuw bohuw" which is better translated: "Became an empty place"

I got all definitions out of the Strong's Exhaustive Concordance Of The Bible

So why can't the world be 4 billion years old? And at the same time "We" be created by God? It don't say we were created 6 days after the world was created. It says we were created after the world "Became" void, no exact time that this happened is actually specified in the manuscripts.

All I know is this: When you take the hebrew text and translate it, all the Creationists "fairy tails" fall by the wayside and the actual truth shines through.

So there is a little teaser for you to consider.

because at the time that we arrived on the earth, the earth was not an empty place, it was in fact teeming with life. once life first appeared, it has remained, and the earth has not been empty since.

on a side note, it is a very good idea to attempt to understand the bible in the original hebrew (if you wish to actually study it). however, i would hope that you would actually have a working knowledge of hebrew before attempting to do so, otherwise you are just reading someone else's translation.

there is no reason that a god couldnt have done all this... but there is also no reason to believe that one has. If we need a god to create this, then we need something to have created god.

Someone said it before, if one could have existed forever, then the other could have existed forever independantly.

Sure its possible, but to try and teach it in schools as fact is a little absurd.

Everyone who is being honest is agnostic. I can never know that there is no god, just as even a priest can't know that there is. Everything beyond that is just mental masturbation. If you see a picture of the virgin mary on your toast and "know" that there is a god, great. If you do some complex proof like god is good and people suffer therefore there is no god, and this let's you "know" that there is no god, great. but you're just spinning your wheels. you don't know shit either way, the rest is just opinion.

hmmmm....that sounds really funny to me.....for 18 years of my life I was brought up by my strict religious parents to believe creationism and this crap and by during my high school years I was depressed, lonely, and considered killing myself and ending my worthless life.....

Then i went to college, denounced religion, went on a massive binge of all the "brain-twisting" crazy ass drugs you can imagine, partied it up, stopped going to church, got some friends who actually gave a shit about me and not "what God thought", and came out on the other side realizing that everything my parents taught me was bullshit, and that even tho there isnt a God, life is enjoyable and does have a point that makes it worth living. Since then i've actually wanted to wake up every day.

What was that about evolution being worthless and God being better????

Just an update. The Jehovah's stopped by my house this afternoon, sorry warpe, I didn't have time to take my clothes off, but one of the women that came was 18 and smokin hot!! Anyway,,,
I let them in to my house and we discussed the whole JW thing for an hour, then they left. I think they will be sending in reinforcements soon..
I hope the hot chick comes back.
