Genitruc wins.
I will concentrate, and play solid.
I will not make plays on emotions, but rather make plays based on the information I have at my disposal through observation and study.
I will look at all angles objectively to draw conclusions and always consider abnormal, unconventional, and even 'frowned upon' strategies.
I will exercise discipline and put in volume.
I will get better at poker.
I will get rid of the annoying raptor avatar.
ahh, but that is not a priority :D
haha nh daven

PSA:
if you decide to sit at my tables you will surely wish you hadn't come to play
just because u have like the one hand u cant fold to my turn raise.
i thought that you might think that i thought your range wasn't as strong as mine when you lead. so i thought that you might think that if i called the flop that you would think i was letting you spew it off on the turn with a weaker range than mine
also i had 2 conditional overs, a bdfd and a gutter to the nuts. and sometimes i can bluff the A.
on the diamond turn you led again and i had a fd, 2 overs and a gutter and i was pretty sure you would not lead a FD on the flop and tbh theres not too many fd's you can have as i didnt think you'd flat like ATs or like 9xs oop. so i didnt put too many flushes in your range and decided to raise. I figured you'd shove like AdJo KdJo and sets but fold the rest of your range. I didn't think you had too many sets though because i thought you'd either 4b them pre or c/r the flop and watch me jam with overs. so i decided to raise to a really strong amount trying to rep a flush, or like QQd KKd or AAd. and if u did somehow find a hero call with top pair, well i have like about 30-38% equity.
turns out u slowrolled me with AdJo. sick beat. and no justice on the river. couldn't believe it.
justice doesn't work against professional slow rollers
btw that halloween family guy episode was so epic, your pic just reminded me of the lol's I had watching it.
been playing some min bet lately

Decided not to go to bed because I slept in so late yesterday my sleep schedule is on crack so I'll hopefully fix it by passing out quite early tonight.
Plan for the day is grind grind grind! Got the trance music on repeat to keep me alive.
i woke up today around 10am then fell back asleep and got up at 2. not tooo bad. will aim to get up before 2 tomorrow.
Instead of going to bed at 10am (yesterday) I tried to power through... crashed HARD at 5pm and was wide awake at 1am. fml.
I need to see a sleep therapist or something.
In other news I've launched my own web site (with the help of spoonitnow).
Here's the link: three-pair.com Stick around for future updates and whatnot. I'll still be posting in this space as well.

luckbox vs idiot.
inb4 busto, imo.
good hand reading + totally fearless, i love it. nh
hah no prob (m2m busted me in the 320$ CCOOP event w QQ on J67 vs my AJs w back door FD, I CR flop about 2.2x, he clicks it back, i re-click it back and he thinks for a bit then shoves). NH. i was mainly crushed when you 4-bet the flop but was really close to being priced in, meh.

oh ya, does either of us know yAAwn who was chatting? screenname seemed kind of familiar, is he/she FTR?
also on your website i think you meant "may" rather than "my" in the sentence "my brain my contain"
k enough blog whoring
thx for pointing that out haha, i wouldn't have noticed otherwise.
busto'd 19th in coop event for $665 (fing mincash).
I think I made a spewy shove. not sure what my jamming range should be in this spot though since I don't have a ton of donkament experience. any input would be appreciated. I guess i can't be too upset about it though since i didn't even expect to play in this event till the last second before the satty for it (ty dozer). I guess ive learned a few things and now its time to study mtts more closely lol.
villain is playing very active so far over a small sample. seems like he knows what he's doing/is an mtt reg. has 3bet a couple of my opens already. villain who cold called is playing very loose but straightforward postflop. id expect the squeezer to be 3betting wide range here.
what would u guys jam in this spot? we just arrived ITM, the payout is kinda top heavy i guess. $665 pays this spot and the next 5 spots are $875. first 16k (let me know if i left out any relevant info)

Been playing a lot of tournaments and SnGs recently and I basically follow this chart.
HoldemResources.net: HeadsUp Nash Equilibrium
Although I tend to use the "Caller" side to determine my hand if there is a raiser or a 3bet before my shove and I tighten it up more for 3bet obviously. Gen's range seems pretty solid imo
Spent all of last night and today studying tournaments and ended up winning a seat for the $530 Canadian COOP ME.
Given the amount of satellites that ran for this I'm going to guess it will be just as soft as the $320 6max I played yesterday - or even softer. The structure is also amazing for me being a cash player. 30min blind levels, a huge time bank, and a slowly escalating blind structure beginning with deep stacks. I feel I have a postflop edge against almost all tournament pro's at the small-mid buyin levels (I'm confident I have an edge on a number of higher stakes MTT players with deep stack play but I don't want to sound too arrogant here..) and my short stack/50bb game is pretty solid from playing lots of 50bb cash tables.
I'm not sure if I'm going to play or not just yet, but if I can sell off some of my action I will (probably looking to sell somewhere between 25-40%). If interested hola @ me. First come first serve via posting in this thread - I am not 100% certain if I will play though so I'll reserve any requests but won't confirm 100% till tomorrow. Let me know what % you want up to 40 max.
The tourney ID is 2010114011 if you want to check it out.

Sorry daven won't be playing.
I wrote up some shit in my blog that would be worth reading for you micro-ssnl guys. Check it out and let me know what you think. Also I linked an FTR thread in my post so hopefully the mods here won't be pissed when I provide links to my site (lol)
Random blurb on why SSNL regs suck | three-pair.com
I wrote this at 5am so hopefully there aren't too many mistakes and shit. I guess I'll have to edit tomorrow.
well I definitely missed out on some major EV lol.
I'll accumulate the EV's at the cash table though so no big deal.
It’s December 1st and I… | three-pair.com
^ explains whats up for december with me. basically i need 2500 vpps/day...
not sure how doable this is gonna be, im at 2500 so far and am just getting to bed and ready for day 2 so not a terrible start by any means.
5100 VPPs collected so far
71,500 remain..
I'm going to Toronto for the day tomorrow to get xmas shopping done with my bro. If I get back at a reasonable time and am not too tired I should be able to grind out a few hands. Enjoy the weekend ya'll.
7000 VPPs is the monthly count. Behind pace but had a really busy weekend so there will be plenty of time for me to get hands in this week.

So I think I realized why I get pwnd HU so bad.
Whenever I play someone who is really really dumb, like a really dumb reg for example, I end up leveling myself into thinking, 'okay there's no way you are stupid enough to do this with such and such timing/sizing etc'. Then I click call or raise or whatever and lose money because as it turns out they really are just that stupid to make it so obvious what they have that they actually have it and me thinking there's no way they can is just giving them too much credit :|
Idk how to fix this. Idk if that paragraph even makes sense.
Like today I had this guy who folded 5/5 to my 4bets. I mean how bad are you? LOL I saw him flatting small pairs to my PFRs and when he's 3betting 30% no wonder he's just folding over and over to my 4bets when he prolly has a hand only 10% of the time worth jamming over. I didn't once 4bet a good hand, it was all J4o,Q5o,96o etc because he's mentally challenged and isn't adjusting.
anyway, he c'rs some flop to 3x my bet quick and barrels relatively quick. I ended up folding and he showed his bluff. Then the next time he c'rs like 2 hands later he CHANGES his sizing, and he TANKS before EVERY action the whole way in the hand. I think to myself, there's no way you have anything here since all he repped was bottom set so I Mississippi'd his ass and shoved over his river barrel. Sure enough he had it. Fuck I'm retarded for thinking some people aren't retarded. Sick timing and sizing tells bro enjoy losing my money to someone else. Somehow retards just level me.
the post above sums up pretty well something that has caused great disillusionment for me over and over again. part of me wants poker to be a challenge, to bring out my best, most creative thinking.
unfortunately, the bread and butter of money-making plays at lowstakes (and many midstakes) tables involves shutting off this analytical levelling part of your brain and functioning on a level that is simple to the point of being boring.
yeah no kidding eh :/
I hate to do this but until I get unstuck at 50nl HU I'm going to be strictly table selecting. Not playing any reg regardless of how bad they are. Feels dirty but w/e. I can't afford to just keep spewing off stacks and I need to boost my confidence so I can get comfortable playing HU at an equal level to where I'm playing 6max/FR so for the next little while I guess I'll be *sigh* bumhunting. Once I get unstuck and then some I should be ready to take on slightly less retarded retards. For now I'll practice keeping it simple vs some fish.
took 2 days off to do things irl.
probably the best decision ive made in awhile. back to the tables tonight!
See you at 6am
It's grind time!
update: holiday season is going well. hopefully everyone is enjoying time with their family/friends/computer or whatever it is that makes you happy.
as for poker news nothing exciting is really exciting atm. ill mostly be studying this week with a bit of play, then its off to montreal for new years eve. staying 2 nights at the hilton so should be pretty awesome. will write a trip report if anything exciting happens. enjoy the rest of 2010 ya'll and gl @ tables.
Like the blog. Just have to say that one of my HUGE leaks over the years at several levels of micros and various games is the flop aggression and turn/river face up card play. I almost never bluff (like you said) on later streets, but bluff too often on the flop, which encourages correct play from any villain.
Nice post. Good stuff to think about.
I think I'll post some hands where I 3barreled really loose players at low stakes in my next strat post. Alot of people have this misconception that you cannot bluff fish, but once you gather some reads and accumulate enough info about what each line they take means you can start to catch on to spots where their range is super capped at something just really weak and if the board runs out scary enough you can defo get them off their holding as long as they aren't just a huge calling station - which you should be able to figure out pretty quick anyway.
off to montreal.
be back in 2011.
