fucking amazing
woot they play more
yay for me and the rest of americas
wow.. I think that was one of the sickest games I've seen in ages.
Goddd I hate the sox.. but amazing game!
I wouldn't be too disappointed if the city of Boston fell into the ocean tomorrow. I wouldn't go so far as to say I want it to happen, but if it did, I wouldn't cry about it or anything.
Sorry man, only functional laptop in the house right now is my gf's, so if she's on it I can't aim and watch at the same time. BUT, did you know the Philadelphia Phillies are in the WORLD SERIES????Quote:

but we'll for sure make a bet in the world series if TB gets there!
I understand. Plus our brains aren't wired to like risking more to win less.Quote:

YAY BOSTON LOST, now I can go back to not paying attention to baseball.
no tom brady...no red sox...wtf is going on here
tough year bigred, welcome to every year as a philly fan.
anyway...
LET US GO GO GO PHILS. ONE TIME.
But New Englanders don't deserve this kind of treatment. We look down on the rest of the country for a reason...we're better than everyone.Quote:

In other news, I think Dusty is a lock for AL MVP.
Rays are 1.4:1 favorites...Quote:

Sorry phillies.
The way Garza pitched last night was amazing btw.
Don't worry, we're used to it. I'm just hoping for some freak accident, like one of the catwalks at the Trop falling on all three Rays outfielders.Quote:

I think the red sox got screwed twice. Once by coco crisp's slide into second base and the second by the "strikeout" of JD drew, both in the eighth. Crisp was out but that was the most retarded slide I think I've ever seen. Seriously, wtf. He earned my respect back in these last few games and instantly destroyed it with that slide. I think he cost us the game. More importantly though, JD Drew checked his swing and that was the biggest bullshit call I've ever seen. The ump got carried away in the moment and called one of the most questionable strike 3's in this post season.
Side note: The ump behind home plate was jsut awful last night. This went both ways though. Lester and Garza would throw the same outside pitch twice in a row and each time the ump would call something different.
Side note squared: I want to thank Dustin and Lester for showing up to the game. I'm not sure where the rest of the Red Sox got lost on the way to the Tropicana Field but I suppose Tampa is a confusing area. Especially for Ortiz who didn't show up to 2008. I think he made a wrong turn in November 07 and ended up somewhere in Canada.
Drew's swing was a borderline swing. I think it was pretty bad that the homeplate ump called it a swing instead of appealing down to the 3rd base ump who had a better view, but he actually got the call correct.
NO!Quote:

5:4? Why you keep trying to cheat me? I'll put $36.50 up against your $50, which is slightly better for you than just splitting the juice on the current Pinny line.Quote:

Cole is such a stud. So are Madson and Lidge. They should pitch those three every game until Cole's arm falls off.

nothin like a solid pitchers duel to start this puppy off!
Was a good game for sure. Mannn losing at home sucks!
game 2 tonight!
I predict the Phils will lose the next 3 before realizing they have to start Hamels every game. They'll do it and win in 7.
What sport is "baseball"? Sports don't start until Sunday when the Pats play the Rams.
i believe it's the one where the red sox lost to the rays on sunday, not sure thoughQuote:

also, burrell/howard/rollins going 0-13 and leaving 13 RISP is just gonna not work out every fucking game.
Where do you get good rest? It would be 3 days in Game 4 and then 3 days in Game 7. He's never pitched on 3 days rest and they've said pretty clearly they don't plan to start now, right after a season he pitched a career-high and near league-high number of innings.Quote:

go rays.
for some reason i thought 4 days. gorilla mathhh. still, he looks awesome, and these are the last real games for about half a year. maybe you're right though. i just want to see the phils win in the worst fucking way, though i'm sure you do as well.Quote:

Me neither. That's the agony of 2-4 in the Phils rotation. My questions going into tonight:Quote:

2) Can Myers locate his fastball? If he's missing spots, inside or over the plate, he'll have a short night.
3) Can Rollins and Howard put together even a couple decent ABs? They looked lost at the plate last night, esp Howard. Phils can't expect 3 runs to win with Brett on the mound, so they need some production from their best hitters.
One positive is that our hitting lineup is much stronger vs. a right-hander. Dobbs will play 3rd and is one of our best hitters, period. And I bet Matt "OMFG where did you come from?" Stairs will DH.
if myers is looking even remotely good tonight i feel about 100 times better about the world series.
oddly enough i feel like we're gonna see a quality start out of blanton.
brett hasn't done so bad, but our batters are just wtf
Winnable game, this one's going to come back and haunt them. Not as bad as Game 4 in '93 obv but they should have had this one. Home plate umpire was terribad. Sigh.
Yah that was a weird.. third strike.. call out..check down at first..walk... play he calledQuote:
