Question:
Do you play 67s, 78s often in the BU vs EP/MP opens? My opening ranges are probably wider than yours but I tend to rarely play Axs for a raise if I am not the raiser or there is a 2+ limpers.
@ Luck, you should be pretty willing to limp behind 2+ limpers with Axs especially if you're IP. Hit your flush, get paid ldo. It's like having a robusto PP with more than 2 outs, and don't tell me you don't limp behind with like 22-77.
Yeah I pretty much do if there are some good implied odds, ie not against short stacks. When they hit you can get paid off pretty well as is the case with Axs. I'm not playing my Axs for anything really other than the nut flush or two pair. If I hit an Axx on the flop and it doesn't connect with my flush or other card I proceed very cautiously and don't have a problem folding to any aggression.
Keep in mind that im currently @5nl. From my past book reading and other strategy posts, small suited connectors require you to be able to have fold equity against your opponents, this is not often true at our stakes and we end up trying to be aggressive when we don't need to be. Just things I have been trying, though if there are raise and call, I will nearly always play them in position. And I prefer T9s over 67s any day.
Thanks again for the tip about notecaddy. I finally allowed it to go through all my hands since April and it made like 40k notes and took about 5 hours (I have a slow ass puter plus it seemed like PostgreSQL kept hanging up).
What I really like about this is you can use it while reviewing HHs and you can see what kind of notes it makes about Hero. The fact that I got notes on myself probably caused it be be slower too.
Holy balls! Note caddy looks pretty sweet. Also, good op you got going here Harley!
In regards to the last hand that you posted I'm going to side with dranger on raising this flop. I know you have position and a drawing hand but if you look at in terms of cards that are going to improve your hand and extracting value there really aren't many. If we held a hand like 89s I'd feel a lot better about flatting because there are more cards that can fall and help us and some that will hit and disguise our hand (ie. a off suit 6). As griffey and dranger mentioned, his cbetting range is probably going to be fairly close to all of his opens on this particular flop so I believe you have a lot more fold equity than you give yourself credit for. If he calls you can check back Ax for pot control and SD value and you can barrel quite a few other cards. Also, even if you get it in on the flop vs a range of only AA (removes your A outs) TT 77 and 33 you still have 30% equity which ain't half bad ;)
Thanks a million Harley for the tip on Note Caddy. Went home the night I read your OP and downloaded the trial version, got it running last night and it is soooo cool. The ablility to take notes while you are playing is amazing. I am pretty sure after last night that I will invest the $50 to have this tool full time. Thanks a ton for the tip.
I hope the op turns out as positive for you as your tip has turned out for all who read about Note Caddy.
OK so a review of the month is in order. Guess the first question is was September worthy of remembering? I would say in general yes although not earth moving it had some high points:
- moved out of 5nl
- earned bonus bucks from PS
- made some good headway in understanding session reviews
- earned goldstar status, although I think the volume cost me
- stayed fairly active with my blog, which hasn't ever really been the case
So I am going to break down the month with a few graphs by stakes etc.
First is the overall month:

Now lets break it down a little.
First part of the month was spent grinding out 5nl which went well:

I made the decision to not move up until my bankroll was well padded for it as I expected some variance. This wasn't my first go at 10nl. Well needless to say I am sure glad I did. Here is the month at 10nl:
http://i259.photobucket.com/albums/h...c/sept10nl.jpg
Now I want to break it down a little more. I started 10nl playing 6m for a couple days and it was a fucking train wreck so I switched to fr until I settled down. Well things were weird to say the least I played fr for awhile and really it never settled down for me. Then one day I did a shit ton of reading and studying and decided to give 6m another shot which went much better. Here is 10nl fr:

And then 10nl 6m which will include the first few days which were really shitty but it is what it is:

So what does all of this really mean. Well to me it means I still have a shit ton of work to do. Tbh I'm so ok with all that though. I love this game and I really enjoying learning from it. I will continue my mission to get better.
Running out of time but may do some editing later. I need to outline my goals for October. One I know for sure is to either continue this blog or start another?
.
Meh, either way is fine. Starting a new blog is always nice. (I have like 7 obv)
If you want this to be your blog, change title ldo
October to Stay Sober?
This just made me laugh. I got into it with a woman who was trying to coach a fish after he made a stupid call then sucked out on her. All I said to her was "Is this a coaching table?" and she went off on me. Well this is what followed:

Then I got the following email:
