Internet is not working properly. I need to switch providers. :'(
Sad because there's a new guy who tries mass multi-tabling. Plays lagg and does it very badly. Opens a lot of tables so I could just sit to his left and cause him a lot of pain... but no :(
Will watch death at a funeral and go to bed.

The new isp I'm getting is actually better than I thought... at least the way it looks now. It's not a shared connection. I get my own glass fiber cable directly into my apartment, and they're not offering "up to" xMbit, they're offering a "minimum" amount of Mbit/s.
Up to 100Mbit Up AND Down. - for little more than what I was paying for 16Mbit down and 1.5Mbit Up at my last place.
Downside: I might have to wait up to 4 Weeks until they install it - because they have to do all the wiring and stuff.
So inno what I'll do until then. - Because playing with my current connection is near unpossible.
Prolly build a PLO roll. - 2 Tabling 10PLO should be doable. And it will cause me a lot less pain when I timeout on a double suited rundown with $10 stacks, than when I timeout on Aces with $100 stacks.
plol
good news: Internet works for the time being.
bad news: -$500 today
Made some horrible plays lately... stuff that shouldn't happen. When I plan to c/r/f, and I c/r/call I should just quit.
Made some bad mistakes HU against a reg who thinks I'm horrible. I ended up representing exactly what I had because of FPS.
Some bad habits from playing deep stacked have started creeping in. 100bb deep you just can't call every 3b in position. Tomorrow I'll try to nit it up a bit. All the new regs should have me at 20/16 with a pretty huge position 3b%. I'll try to take advantage of that.
Reviewed yesterdays session. I'm tilting way more than I thought. It's hard to realize because I just widen my ranges here and there a little bit. Since I'm already lagg as fuck by default, this can become quite costly. Dropped a couple of BI at the start of the session without doing anything wrong, and then I just loose a shitload of hands at non-showdowns because I take some hands way too far.
Being results oriented is awesome when you're on a heater. Not so much when you're loosing. I should get back and start winning again, amirite!

yah... I definitely had a lot of moments lately where I just owned myself really hard by giving people way too much credit.

No poker yesterday. Might play some live today... TBH I don't think I'll be moving down to 50NL. I've cashed out 4.5k this year, and I still have 5k in my FTP account - I still can still pwn 100NL. moving down to 50NL will just cut down my hourly and not do much else for me.
I'm only down $150 for the month. It has been quite swingy but nothing horrilbe.
I just need to get my head straight and not do retarded shit. I'll try to find someone to sweat me for my next session for tilt control.
I think I've played a lot more focused the last couple of days... results are still not really update worthy. Lots of days left till the end of the month imo. :D

Life variance: while driving home the exhaust fell off... or at least it sounded like it. Turned out it was just slightly broken and scraping against the left rear tire. I ran hugely above EV tho cuz the drivers club guy was there in 10 minutes and fixed it in 5. I got to get a new exhaust soon tho.
Now I got to get a good nights sleep because tomorrow morning the glass fiber man is coming! I've been looking forward to that for a month. I hope it will be everything I thought it would be!

Since I've last checked my squeeze % has gone up a lot and is now > my 3b% I'm getting more comfortable playing trashy hands in position, and generally I think I've improved my bet sizing with low spr.
And I'm following up on reads a lot more. Mainly because I'm a lot more comfortable putting stacks in now that I have almost 100BI for the level.
Keeping it 12 tables or less, and being disciplined enough to close tables when it's getting too much has also helped.
I really need to practice EV calculations and combinatorics stuff. I'm way too soft in the head. I think I have a really good grasp of bet sizing and timing tells and understanding feeshus thought process, but most of the time I couldn't give you a reason for what I'm doing... there's definitely a lot of room for improvement.

So... not moving up to 200NL any time soon, but it's fine. I wasn't expecting to match my 50NL winrate at 100NL, but there's no reason why I shouldn't. I'm probably passing up some value by not moving up to 200NL AGAIN. But I'm really comfortable at 100 atm. 200, especially deep still feels somewhat gay.

I can't believe I haven't updated for 10 days... wtf was I doing?
18th to 23rd I've played almost 6h per day doing reasonably well. Then I took a break, played a short session on Friday before leaving for the weekend. Played some 25plo. Holdem-wise I've been playing 90% deep ante tables on FT and Stars. Ran hot Sunday and monday for +$1.1k combinded. -€300 live today which was kind of painful, because I was already getting ready to leave being up 200-ish when a guy comes to the table who insisted on getting it in every single hand one way or the other. Stacked him twice and then just standard doomswitch for almost -€900
Looks like I won't even make iron man again. But I did clear about 80% of my $10 stars bonus!
Wow im very jealous... and also happy for ur recent success. I usually dont post much on the forum so yea... i hate being just slightly winning in 6max... i feel like trying full ring now!
oooh someone is jealous of me! Finally the recognition I deserve!
I do play 6m occasionally but for some reason I just prefer FR. There's something about a 6handed game in particular that don't like. I couldn't tell you what it is. HU to 4 handed is cool and 8-10 players is cool. Everything between is gay. That's just how it is.
It's funny how everyone is loosing weight and putting in study time, meanwhile I stay fat and results oriented.
Haven't played a lot the last couple of days of April. http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...ad-179740.html
Will continue to take shots at 200NL, but 100NL is still my main game for now. When I'm not feeling well, I'll throw in some µPLO. I'm fairly confident I can beat 25PLO by now.
Only 11h this month and lots of it 8 tabling or less and some 25plo.

Tomorrow I'll have to do some stuff and I'll be away for the weekend. I'll try to pick it up starting with monday.
Paying for a pilot license with poker money still seems kind of a long way away. But I think I'll take up paragliding. Probably as soon as next month because summer doesn't last very long around here. May give me some incentive to travel as well. I'm not that interested in moving around just to see people in different hats and some weired animals. But flying around would be pretty sweet.
The license can be had under €1000, including safety training and travel expenses. A new gear is around €3000, but there are lots of used ones that you can get for half of that.
8h 200NL session. Swingy as hell.

Tons of hero folds and one hero-call that turned out to be correct. I have reviewed my big loosing hands and I think it was all more standard than the metric system. Folding top set once when it definitely wasn't good. Folding KK on TTx after setmining against an UTG min4b by a 11/4.
Villain is lag-reg-ish.
His betting range when checked to is definitely wider than is checking rage.
Against most regs I would be planning check / calling a river bet, especially on that card, but when they pot or overbet it's usually QK, 55 or the backdoor flush, counting on you to find a way to call this with Qx. I thought that this guy was thinking enough that he would bet smaller for value. Plus I had to get my stack over 1k again so I can intimidate the table with my 4 figures.

building a stars roll... played some 50NL: +$408 in 800 hands yesterday.
I'm trying to figure out if I can afford paragliding.
I just cashed out 1.7k for living expenses.
That leaves me with an online roll of $9859 across 3 sites.
The license won't knock me back a lot, but I will probably buy a glider after that so this whole thing could easily be set me back 4k.
The real turn off here is opportunity cost. I'm 99.9% sure I will crush 200NL just as bad as I did 100NL. Right now it looks like it's about two months away until I can grind 100% 200NL comfortably. Taking out 4k could push me back 2 months and cost me an additional 5-10k in expected value.
But if I keep thinking like that I won't ever do anything fun.
I'm looking for schools atm.
This is the ONLY paragliding video I've found up to now that isn't dubbed with incredibly crappy music.

saw one of the biggest fish I've played at 1/2 sitting at a 2/4 table and decided to take a shot. That in combination with worst day ever in terms of all-in EV - I think around -12BI - not going to check that again lol... - and here we are. I think I'll join the let's-not-look-at-the-cashier people for the rest of the month :D
At least now I have an incentive to grind.
:puke:
dude, shit like that when you move up is horror - my first (only) move to 1-2 was kinda like that...
you'll grind it back pronto - still up for the month i'm guessing - and must be close to edging ahead in the race to 100k?
It's not as bad as it might look. I knew perfectly well that I could blow through 20% of my roll doing that, but there was also a chance of booking 5-10k if I get this guy stuck and tilted. He's someone who way over-adjusts at every opportunity. He starts out by 3-betting 30% - and that's with me opening about 70% of my buttons. After I 4b twice in 100 hands, he immediately starts 5b-shipping any Ax, any pair. So obviously high variance but very straight forward to play against.
I'm still up on the month.
33k total profit, so your $10 are safe for now.
I think you might be underestimating just how little rakeback and bonus money I get. :D
Iopq isn't out of the race either. idk how much he's up but I'm guessing around the same.
u guys racing to 100k profit?
I want in because if I actually had motivation I could make it?
yup, sure.
Ten american dollars to the winner.
I don't like it one bit, but you already won that one. There's a chance I'll come back to FT, but for the time being I'm grinding on Boss and Stars. I'm getting bored of 100bb games, and the stars deep tables are always going. That and I can't make iron man consistently, so bonus wise stars is probably better.

metagame obviously.
Haven't played today. Didn't get the key for the laundry room again when I needed it a week ago. I was down to the absolute bottom of the pile. So I put on a moth eaten t-shirt of some skank ex-gf and and a pair of shorts that has more stitches in the crotch than Johnny Knoxville and went to buy a washing machine. Dragged it in in the pouring rain, started it up and joined some friends playing Battlefield. An hour later there's a terrible noise like some angry crackhead is trying to fix the misaligned v-belt on his pickup with a jackhammer right outside my window. Took me about five minutes to figure out that the machine was in the process of disintegrating my bathroom. I yanked out the power cord. I'll try to fix it tomorrow. I think I overloaded it and it wasn't quite level.
If you ever find yourself in idk some urban guerilla warfare situation and you need to bring down some civilian residential building, that's the way to go. Overload the washing machines.
Poker wise I need to really pick it up. I might have to get a job if I don't, god forbid. There's a motivation if there ever was one. That plus HD projector and paraglider GOGOGO!

^^ thx 2 spoon for this
yah... goal for this week is 35h of poker.
I've played regularly the last couple of days but not nearly for as much volume as I need to.
After having played about 20k hands of 200NL this month going back to 50NL for the pokerstars grindage needs some big re-adjustments. I don't necessarily think the players are THAT much weaker, but they are a lot less scared money.
Good thing is I'm feeling a lot more motivated after that 3k downswing. Being reminded that money isn't just going to keep on raining forever, so I might want to put some effort into it.
31st:
5.5h
3k hands
+$505
1st:

2h of 100NL
+$250
Not going to make 35h it looks like, but I'll try to get close anyway.
Mounted some shelves, made some greek salad and then headed out. Came back late and now I'm just waiting for Groundhog Day to finish downloading. I'll watch that and fall asleep halfway through :)
Yaawn asked me why I play 50NL. I gave some lame answer about BRM and not wanting to deposit on stars which isn't entirely true because I have the BR and shipping money with moneybookers isn't a problem at all.
I just don't mind it. I'm inching closer to 10ptbb/100 @50NL for the year, and archiving that would be pretty sweet. So my hourly isn't even that much lower than it is @100NL where I hover around 5ptbb. And it's not like higher stakes are more of a challenge. The challenge for me is to push every possible edge and get the maximum value out of every hand I play. That's no easier at 50NL than at 400NL if you take it seriously.
YouTube - are you my nigga?
Today is going to be marathon session day because I don't want to give up that easily.
It's noon and I've played two sets of sessions for a total of 5.5h and 2600 hands. +$270
made two calls that I'm not at all proud of one with bottom two heads-up when my opponent would 3-bet any decent ace and call any ace-rag on A26 4 x - he c/raised the turn his value raising/getting it in range was fairly wide, but because his calling range had so many ace-rag hands I think it was bad. Another one with KK multi-way where I c-bet got one caller, and checked the turn to pot control and got insta shoved for 1.2x pot. I think it was a T high board and he certainly could have done it with JJ, QQ... meh, it was close, but I think it was a close fold.
Thought about making a post in the bc how I would advocate that beginning playes stay away from strategy books and guides and spew and spazz and call down as much as they like, because I honestly think it's the better way to learn. idk if I can translate what I mean so I'll pass on that for now.
gaawd I'm so tilted.
Wanted to play a short session before I go to bed. spoon sold me some tournament dollars and I thought I'll play a small field. Ended up playing 3h for +$60 and hated every minute of it. it's like the most retarded thing you could possibly do with poker.
then I was tired and didn't notice my stats were all messed up on one of the two cash tables I kept going to keep me awake. Made the worst squeeze of my life because of that. flopped the nfd and bet, bet all-in for 200bb and got snapcalled by 2nd pair. Then I saw that the guy had 0/12 fold to 3b and basically never folds before the river.
I'm up some hundred but I messed up my sleep cycle for this shit.
I'll set an alarm 5h ahead so I can get it back in order.
WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
For future reference: T$ 50 are worth approximately -$50 in real money.
played about 3h... about -$40.
was out till 5 in the morning. going to sleep till 2pm, hope to squeeze in a session before I leave and prolly won't come back until very late again.
I see people starting blogs with hopeless titles again. Don't you people realize that if you want it to go well, you need a good title. War and Peace is obviously going to be better than Gassy and Bloated. It's a law of nature.
3.5h of war on terror: board game yesterday.
I left the game to go to another party at midnight... called back next day, they were playing for another 3.5h after that. We gotta tinker with the rules for next time :D
4h of Activity Professional today. We got an early lead then got knocked back to last place by the story field but continued to crush everyone and took it down. Brag: I was quite drunk.
Got home and played through Portal again. 1.5h 8 achievements unlocked.
shut up
lolol, solid last few days
Great blog keep making the maniez
dude, we da grind kingz
10hrs in june so far for me...
Doing a little better now. Between 4 and 8h per day last week. Up 2.6k on the month in 30k hands.
http://www.flopturnriver.com/pokerfo...an-180668.html - this was one of the more interesting hands I've played this month.
3 day break and one mega session today that went pretty gay. + some hundred but I swear it wuz gay.
I checked my hourly over the year because people claim insane hourly rates and I didn't know where mine was at. All I know is that I can't beat most 25 enellers :D. Maybe they take the most favorable conditions: 16 tables all the way coupled with their overall winrate. and leave out failed shots and stuff. Idk... maybe I just suck massively at the grind, but I'm at $35/h this year. going at 460hands/h average. Prolly around $45 with bonus/rakeback.
Beats flipping burgers
