bit of a timing tell though.....a lot of the regs will know that wilbur, badgers and me are uk based and the game swung from night to day roughly 1am to 2 pm UK time (is server ET? ) when we UK based people were likely to be asleep especially midweek.Me and Wilbur post from work so why should we be showing up with any posts earlier than we did. First phase was night so no point in posting.
As for jumping on a bandwagon , I find this hilarious in that i beleive I was the second vote for you and then you go and jump on an established bandwagon in Kingnat.JKDS and a few of the others will know that I will vigourously argue my defence and I've managed to convince JKDS of my innocence regularly.

While that's pretty obvious BooG, I think with the n00b wolf errors I made early in the last game, the "deception" of taking me would be outweighed by the problems my wolf inexperience could possibly cause. I mean JKDS basically soulread me last game and I only had like 6 mosts. Him seeking me wasn't random, as I'm not that prolific (<<< My word of the week fwiw) of a player.

I mean, it's solid logic, but I believe an alpha would more than likely take an individual that would be a good wolf, over me, when it's also pretty level 1 to think I would be not suspicious.

Kingnat seems like an OK choice and I won't intentionally derail him. The only argument I can think that goes against lynching him is that he gave himself up pretty easy the last time he was a wolf (I think in a game earlier this summer if I recall correctly). So he would not be / isn't a dangerous adversary.

I still like the plan of lynching a vet, which oddly puts me on the same side as 'rilla, even if he is one of the targets of this strategy

Meh.. I mean truthfully this whole logic can be bounced around for days, and spun in many different directions. Using Rilla's logic, taking out vets that are likely to (1) be recruited early more than the n00bs, and (2) be dangerous adversaries when they are inevitably recruited, is a good strategy for the village. The drawback is that we lose some of the better villagers, the ones that are likely to soulread, and point the inexperienced villagers in the right directions. However, the vets will at some point be recruited, and they already have loads of influence over the villagers, that they will then be able to point them in the wrong direction with ease.

It's kind of a toss-up between whether the village should take out the individuals who will be very dangerous adversaries (the vets), limiting the WW's recruiting pool to mid-low level players? Or do we keep them in hoping they haven't been recruited so they can figure things out?

Personally, I don't know which should take precedence.

I knew this would happen as soon as I stopped posting a lot. Post a lot and people like CBC say that I need to slow down, and to the vets I look like a total idiot giving away way too much info. Honestly, had we had a new signup instead of just restarting with the same people, I wouldn't have played. I'm not going to not participate, I just won't be posting nearly as much as last time. This isn't required reading, I'll just skip this crap." Also, I'm not very good anyways, so I might as well sit back and observe a little more.

As for what to do today, I have no clue just like everyone else. The statistical approach would be to assign a probability that each player is the alpha (initially equal, but adjusted according to posts so far). Then for each possible alpha, assign probabilities to each possible recruit. Figure out who is most likely to be an alpha/recruited zombie. Lynch that player.

But no one is going to do that. So stop pretending like picking a mostly-random player from the list of 24 has a better than 10% chance of being successful.

And if my opinion is interesting to anyone (I kind of doubt it), this is all I see right now:

There wasn't much resistance to the kingnat bandwagon, except some out-of-the-blue suggestions by Willbur and Keith, but there are only 2 zombies right now. Either kingnat and one of those 2 are zombies (Keith more likely, jumping on doesn't make a lot of sense in that spot IMO), or (more likely) kingnat is not a zombie and Willbur and Keith are no more likely to be zombies than anyone else.

That's pretty much the only interesting thing I see at this point, and it's not much. So....

No-one is claiming to be able to pick a certain wolf (except for maybe Bigred), but we are stating that statistically there is some that are more likely to be recruited than others.

If a line was drawn down the middle, with an equal number of players on either side.. On one side we have the mid-high level players, and on the other side, we have the mid-low level players. The % chance that each side contains the same number of wolves is not going to be 50/50. Instead, the mid-high-vet level side is going to have a higher chance on average, because they are better for the alpha to recruit. Sure, In the earlier junctures of the game, the percentages aren't going to be too different, but there is still going to be a higher average chance that the better players are recruited.

Read the rants in the warped WW thread that I had with SDM about quick lynches providing no information for the village . What is gained by hopping on the kingnat BW ? , surely its better to vote for a noob who was pretty quiet 1st time around and get them to defend themselves and get some information for the village. I also have history in regularly pushing the 1st day lynch a noob argument and always been a villager so nothing new there either. I also dispute that the second person to vote is hopping on a band wagon with 13 need to lynch , using that logic I'd be hopping on loads of other BWs by voting for others.
Your "out of the blue" comment is also strange as I have already pointed out in the thread that me and wilbur are UK based and the day started after 1am UK time so our posts occurred after most of the US and Aus/NZ players had had an evening to vote and discuss and I was asleep ( am not going to even attempt to disclose whether Wilbur awas in bed or not :) ) .
I also have a history of making suggested lynchs without bolding them and swapping between players early on . So on the basis that you admit to playing differently this game , claim you wouldn't have played it if given the choice and not reading and thinking about what other people have posted (i.e timing tell in that alpha (and/or i guess angel) must have voted in the early hours of the morning UK time that UK based players(and from europe like XTR) probably aren't the alpha i am getting suspicious of you trying to deflect suspicion onto me and wilbur. Far better to target players who could be the alpha than players that could have been turned.

As for why I got behind the kingnat thing, the logic behind it is sound, it seems like from past games we can't do anything on the first day but point and lynch anyway, and the reasoning "omg a wolf would jump on the bandwagon 'cause he wants to live!!11" can surely just as easily be applied if you swap "wolf" for "villager".

I dont really like that logic when they could just as easily be seen as targets for the same reason. Still, I dont really have a better idea at the moment.

Is Willbur a sensible lynch? I know he's like 50/50 a special role every game, but he seems like a decent WW recruit. He's pretty quiet and there are already some people associated with him if he turns out to be a zombie.

Yeah.. I'm not a zombie. Albeit, Gator's logic is pretty solid. However, I think even with that logic, me and Spenda are not great lynch candidates. Why would an Alpha spend a recruit on an individual that seemingly ignored the last game all together? An inactive participate isn't going to help the zombie or the village, which also isn't going to hurt the zombie. I was outted in 2 days, and just led to the stringing up of a villager, if I were the Alpha, I'd view me as better off on the side of the village.

I like rilla's logic, and warpe has given it his stamp of approval.. Without further information, I like a Lynch BigRed.

The only problem is that Warpe and rilla can both be zombies leveling us and using our trust to lynch a villager and improve the zombie ratio. I don't think many of you played the Valentine's WW that I was in, but gabe did the same thing and it turned out pretty gross. Hell, Warpe, rilla, and spenda could be the 3 zombies at this point laughing at us from the Wolves Den (is that what it's called?). I'd rather not lynch BigRed or Stacks for that reason.

I posted my suspicions about him yesterday so I'm happy to join this particular BW. Seems to be the same mistake that OP made in his first WW pretending not to know the wolves could talk to each other when he was a wolf .

hes been suspicious for awhile now, im thinking zombie.

the whole "lol im dumb" attack on stax i made last game with the "HOW DO YOU KNOW WHERE IT IS" thing should have alerted wolves not to make this kind of mistake though. Not quite sure what to think of having someone make one considering it was only like 48 hrs ago. Additionally, i think trip has the name somewhere...
